I don't really know what AF Idol is all about, but if it's a competition that puts Madonna against the other AFs then I would agree that Hung Up - as maybe the last commercial Madonna classic would be a good idea.

My absolute favourite Madonna album track is Forbidden Love!
For this, I think Sky Fits Heaven would be a great shout. It comes off an incredibly popular album and for those that haven't heard it, I think it'd make a great discovery. God Control is another good shout too. It smashed the Ultimate Rate we did and WON the Madame X rate a year or so ago If we don't send these this round, we could definitely consider them for future rounds too.

With all the love Drowned World / Substitute For Love is receiving in the Single Rate Results thread, it's making me think it'll be such a great song to send here! I imagine it'd be a great discovery for many people given it's not one of her most well-known songs and for existing Madonna fans, it's a personal highlight for many! Maybe we can find a round that suits it?

As long as we're top 12 out of the first 5 rounds we won't be eliminated so not too much of a risk of we go for it in the next round round or 2. We shall see!

I find myself leaning towards Ray of Light tracks! Frozen is a fairly obvious choice though it has already been sent in the past. Neither The Power of Good-Bye or Drowned World/Substitute for Love have been sent. My personal preference out of these two would be The Power of Good-Bye… but if there’s more passion behind sending DW/SFL then it could well end up doing nicely and being a discovery for people.
P.S. Rain to be saved for the final round and to come 1st with 100% of the voters including it in their lists

Live to Tell is the best Madonna ballad ever and one of the best ballads ever (if not the best)
but there seems to be a prejudice towards old Madonna tracks so I'd go for a Ray of Light track, Frozen would walk it for sure
but maybe it's time for being a bit risky and try Drowned World

I'd be happy to send any of those choices and I think all would do really well. I agree with Dandy though that we could afford to play it less safe given it's pretty likely we're going through to the next stage of the competition.
Have we ever sent 'Get Together' in AF Idol? It's proved to be a big fan favourite here but is also a less obvious choice to go with and could be a nice discovery for other members.

Power of Goodbye under-performed (despite still being in top half).
I would say go for something very well known, so out of the choices...
Papa Don't Preach or Vogue.
My fave is Ray of Light, but it's not so well known.
Get Together isn't a good choice, in my opinion.

I'm having doubts over Get Together as a choice today, it's not the most immediate of tracks for new listeners to pick up on. I'm now thinking maybe we should play safe with either Vogue, Sorry or Ray of Light, especially as the later rounds aren't really geared towards them.

In theory Vogue should smash it but I'm never quite as confident in her older hits even if they are absolute classics. It may stand out against all the newer songs that will be invariably included though so could get support on that basis?

As a newcomer to this... this is how I vote..
I usually know some of which I will defo vote for.
I listen to 30 secs of each song on the playlist. I don't have Spotify, so that's all I can listen to.
I delete the ones I know I don't like.
I then delete the ones I am not familiar with that don't grab me from those 30 secs.
I delete until I get to 12.
So... I would always say go for something well known, as I think they have much more chance of getting a vote.
But then... not everyone votes using the process I do.

Yeah it’s just a very competitive round, kinda glad we didn’t go for Get Together now. :’) I think Vogue being older than the rest is actually beneficial for it in this round as it stands out against all the other classics.
