Gosh, what's that, someone in power actually doing the right thing? No idea how it happened, but long overdue. Another nail in the PM's coffin? Let's hope so! |

Her record as Commissioner has been woeful. Sadly, the first woman and first openly gay Commissioner has been the worst for many years.

A timely reminder to clueless, USELESS neoliberal extremist centrists that identity politics DOES. NOT. WORK, and what we care about are policies and performance, and that is it!!! Corbyn eas perfect because of his policies and performance, but the neoliberal journos attacked Labour for not electing a woman or for not supporting Mad May. Sigh .

Good. The Met has been involved in numerous major failings and coverups under her command. As the big Boss it is only Right she takes responsibility for those failings

That's all very well and I agree about idenitity politics and it across society in general. But having middle-aged to old white males running everything surely isn't a good look. I'm firmly a believer of best person for the job rather than trying to hit a diversity quota. Sounds like Cressinda was pushed rather than resigning of her own accord. |

Hopefully the Eton Mess isn't too far behind. |

Some are saying it's due to the influence of Sadiq Khan. I hope that was the case. Some of the stuff regarding the Jean Charles de Menezes murder and cover up was horrifying.

I find that the Right wing excel in pushing BAME people and Gay men o the front and then get them to push the alternative view to what people would think they would represent. So a lot of gay male commentators are anti LGBT rights (especially trans) and a lot of BAME are very anti immigration (like Priti Patel). But they can say "Oh our cabinet is really diverse etc..." but do nothing to address structural inequality. Liz Truss and Kemi Badenoch are pretty much the worse examples being in charge of equality. |
