That's all very well and I agree about idenitity politics and it across society in general. But having middle-aged to old white males running everything surely isn't a good look. I'm firmly a believer of best person for the job rather than trying to hit a diversity quota. Sounds like Cressinda was pushed rather than resigning of her own accord.

I find that the Right wing excel in pushing BAME people and Gay men o the front and then get them to push the alternative view to what people would think they would represent. So a lot of gay male commentators are anti LGBT rights (especially trans) and a lot of BAME are very anti immigration (like Priti Patel). But they can say "Oh our cabinet is really diverse etc..." but do nothing to address structural inequality. Liz Truss and Kemi Badenoch are pretty much the worse examples being in charge of equality.
