This is of course the VMAs so I'm not even gonna try make sense of 'Sorry' and 'Formation' being up for Video of the Year when they've both been excluded from the gender categories. And I didn't know the choreographed video to 'Sorry' was ever its official music video but there you go. Oh and it's not even up for Best Choreography (!)...so what exactly made the 'Sorry' video so special, VMAs? thinking.gif

Bank Holiday Monday means I'll be able to stay up and watch this like in my student days, yay. Not really hyped for anything but the performances should be worth watching, Beyoncé and the Rihanna medley especially.

A lot of the nominated videos seem so lackluster this year! I swear there were better videos that could've been nominated, but of course they weren't really very big hits so... (which always peeves me off about the nominations for the Video Music Awards! laugh.gif)

Should be a good year for performances. Really hoping Britney manages to deliver!

I've not really paid attention to these awards in the past, other than all the controversies that have occurred, but so many of those nominations are a joke, as has already been said. Rihanna walking around in an LED box deserves a nomination over 'Runnin (Lose It All)' because one was a hit and the other wasn't in the US? Is 'Famous' nominated because of it's quality or the fact that it created controversy by having naked famous people in it?

Yeah, happens every year :') It almost doesn't matter who's nominated because most of the awards are fan-voted so the winner is just who has the biggest fans. Knowing Justin Bieber's track record I'd guess he's a shoo-in for Video of the Year for 'Sorry' which I also didn't think was an official video. Good choreography sure, but hardly deserving of that honor IMO! I'd love to see someone else take it by surprise, especially Beyonce.

I wanted 'Into You' to get a VMA performance (and iTunes boost) but was NOT expecting 'Side To Side' to be a jam and a half *.*
