Something new I wanna hopefully do every week is bring to you the latest in great trance music. Let's start with the biggest name in trance... probably ever, Armin van Buuren of course. Two weeks ago he released 'Blah Blah Blah', which has elements of psytrance but nothing too crazy, and with a rather catchy hook.

He also released a more commercial single called 'Therapy' featuring James Newman, but fortunately for us trance fans he's done a 'Club Mix' of the song which to my ears at least sounds better than the original.

English trance group Above & Beyond released their first single since album 'Common Ground' a few weeks ago, an instrumental titled 'Red Rocks'. Not quite as good as the album but worth a listen or two.

And we should also be highlighting this great track that Lewis sent to BJSC from ilan Bluestone, who is signed to Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats. 'Will We Remain' is in collaboration with Maor Levi and EL Waves.

And on the subject of BJSC, my former entrants Andrew Rayel and HALIENE have only gone and done a song together, 'In The Dark', and the end result is... fantastic of course.

Finally, this week's classic bonus track comes from Paul Van Dyk with his hit single 'For An Angel', widely considered to be his signature song and one of the genre's biggest songs. It also had a rather impressive chart run in the lower end of the chart.

official chart run

Nice feature, I might chip in from time to time with my own picks if that's cool. I like both Blah Blah Blah & Therapy!

Really loving this psytrance tune atm:

The Thrillseekers have remade one of their biggest tracks 'Affinity' for 2018 to mark 15 years since the original version, and they've only gone and made it better.

Fatum isn't someone I've ever heard of but this track 'Mowgli' is a bit of a banger, it reminds me of Swedish House Mafia if they were more trancey.

Not to be confused with drum n' bass producer Dimension, Spanish trance producer Dim3nsion released a new track 'Write Your Story', a big sounding trance anthem, and in fact the official anthem of Spanish music festival 'A Summer Story'. He is also responsible for one of my fave trance records of the year so far, 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no5rbORfBq4'.

Chicane released a great album last week, and one of the highlights on it is the lush 'Nirvana', which may be best described as trouse (house/trance). You may recognise it as a cover of the Ryder song (a former BJSC entry).

One of the biggest trance producers of the past few years, Markus Schulz teams with vocalist JES on 'Calling For Love', a very high energy trance song

Finally, this week's classic bonus track, and we may as well revisit one of Chicane's best as his latest album just got released. 'Saltwater' is his most played track on Spotify and probably his highest-regarded track. It's a beauty of a track with the right balance of vocal texture, ambience and trance synths.

05/06/1999: 6-9-13-18-23-37-40-47-69-75-x (10 weeks)
04/09/1999: 94-91-99-x (3 weeks)
08/02/2003: 43-72-x (2 weeks)
total 15 weeks

That's a lot of tunes in your list, must listen to them!

I discovered this one recently by accident (through a drum and bass remix) when looking for potentials for Club Bizarre. It's from this July and quite a good tune! music.gif

I've been loving that Alpha 9 song recently, it's sooo nice

Petra is a huge banger too! I need to listen to the rest of these later but thanks for that discovery heart.gif

Did you know Alpha 9 is an Arty alias by the way? He's been on a roll lately under both names. He's also done good remixes for Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond under the alias.

Yas I was all over his Alpha 9 stuff last year when ARTY was going through his shit phase, Higher Place is one of my faves from him wub.gif
