someone can explain how streams are being credited between their 2 greatest hits releases? This 2nd Greatest Hits had 502k sales by the end of 2012 (14 months after the release and after their farewell tour). It got the 2x platinum 4 years later, by the end of 2016. their other GH vol 1 was shifting 20-25k per year according to recent statistics. As far as I remember only the top 12 songs stream wise matter for the album sales isn't it?

It is top 16 tracks now. I believe the label gets to choose which album gets the streams applied to it at any one time.
