Are you all ready to go again? The first semi final was like deltävling 4, aka, the heat of death at Melodifestivalen, throwing up one of the most shocking Eurovision DNQs EVER in the form of Iceland. Greece and Bosnia & Herzegovina also lost their 100% qualification records, BUT the Czech Republic finally made the Eurovision final, meaning all current active Eurovision nations have appeared in the final at least once! But we can't dwell on Tuesday's results for too long as tonight, another 18 countries take to the stage, all hoping for one of the last 10 places in the grand final. Viewers in the UK will be allowed to vote tonight, along with the competing nations, Germany and Italy. You only have 20 votes though, so use them wisely!

This semi is SO HARD to predict! I would rather Lithuania and Norway through over Poland and Georgia, but I think they could struggle and be surprise DNQs.

I am super excited for Dami Im tonight. Double header with Slovenia is the bit I'm really looking forward to. Hoping both can go through, but realistically am not expecting Slovenia to make it.

Missing this tonight, will have to catch up as soon as I am home Hoping for Dami, Poli and Jamala, all of which should do it I think. Well, Dami and Jamala are pretty certain, Poli should be fine I just worry about Bulgaria's horrendous track record but I think it's a good enough pop song that it should do very well.

Could be any 10 of 14 really, I don't see Georgia, Albania, Switzerland or Slovenia making it but aside from that it will likely be quite close. If there's to be an Iceland style 'shock' DNQ, I'd imagine it could be Norway, but Agnete should probably manage 8th-10th. Fingers crossed for Macedonia but that will be somewhere between 9th-12th too so it's hard to call it.

Wouldn't mind Slovenia either, but I'm only really bothered my big 3 here. While semi 1 had stronger songs overall, this semi has 3 of my ultimate favourites in Belgium, Bulgaria and Lithuania so if I can get all 3 of them through then I'll be overjoyed (and Serbia too)!

This is potentially very risky to have the same 10 I want to qualify as my predictions too (didn't realise that until now), although Pavel has the same 10 so I don't think it is beyond the realms of possibility. However I think Poland and Georgia could easily take away spots from Macedonia, Lithuania and Norway but I think it will be 10 from the 10 I've bolded and Poland and Georgia. The reason I've decided to take Poland out of my top 10 is that Israel's ballad blows Color of Your Life out of the water and Greece and Bosnia's DNQs proved that diaspora only gets you so far. If Poland do qualify then I'm sure Lithuania will do too as their song is the stronger and more jury-friendly of the two diaspora heavyweights in this semi-final, so that would put Macedonia under threat.

Also worth looking at this prediction from an analyst at the Finnish broadcaster, they got 9 out of 10 right on Tuesday and the only one they got wrong - Iceland - was predicted 10th, much lower than anyone else would've predicted. So worth taking a luck at their second semi predictions:

Less of my favourites in this semi but I'm going to really need Bulgaria, Latvia and Serbia through. Georgia would be a lovely bonus if it manages to be a shock. Got several I'm willing out though - even Belarus as though it's my 10th favourite the whole corruption thing + gratuitous wolves is souring me a bit. Though it could be stealing votes from Russia... Although Mel did say we haven't been on the left hand side of the scoreboard since Jessica Garlick which is of course typical BBC!

Belarus and Macedonia are the ones I'm least confident about, maybe replaced with Norway and Poland. I don't think Norway would be much of a 'shock' DNQ, I've always found it rather average. Everyone needs to CALM DOWN about Bulgaria (yes maybe anything could happen given Iceland, but the praise I've seen for Poli has been a lot more universal).

I'm being FORCED to watch this but that opening performance has made me already feel less resentful. I tried very hard to remain straight faced and annoyed at Mr D* putting it on but I couldn't help but smile a huge grin through all of that.

Latvia / Justs - Heartbeat / That was quite odd. The production is fantastic, but I'm not convinced how great it is as a whole song. It definitely picked up towards the end and is one of the more interesting songs I've heard so far. Gonna have to hear that a few more times to decide exactly how I feel but pretty good opener. 7/10

Huh, I find this a really sweet song that deserves more fans than it's getting but this performance is doing very little for me. He's definitely having trouble controlling the stage... and his voice for that matter.

Poland / Michael Szpak - Color Of Your Life / That was a very strong performance of a not hugely strong song. It's quite dated which is all the more painful when you think they could have Margaret but I'm trying not to think like that. Not bad by any means but like I say, a dated okay ballad that is quite Eurovision typical. 6/10

Switzerland / Rykka - The Last Of Our Kind / Nothing really worked there even though it wasn't a disaster. She was quite flat for most of it and the key change was the final dagger. There's a decent song somewhere deep inside that, but the staging was wrong, the outfit was wrong, the vocals weren't quite there and it was frustrating lacking for something I feel could be so much more. Compared to the two singers before who sold the shit out of their songs imo, this really paled in comparison and it just fell flat. Not bad though. 6/10

Israel / Hovi Star - Made Of Stars / For the third song in a row, not a bad ballad at all, but I'd be lying if I said I was in any way excited by that. Well sung, delicately but appropriately staged and... nice. But, I'm still waiting for a moment of the night which really grabs me because these are all just sitting on being pleasant so far. 6.5/10

Belarus / IVAN - Help You Fly / So, I'm potentially going against the grain here, given a lot of people have called this abysmal. But I actually really liked that and I think it stood out very well after three ballads and now we have an interval, I dare say that will qualify. It's still not remarkable but my favourite so far, quite catchy even if not amazingly performed. 7/10

Ireland / Nicky Byrne - Sunlight / I really like Westlife because of my mum and Nicky was actually my favourite so I was really willing that on to be so much better than it is. He's very nasally vocally and it couldn't be more safe and middle of the road if you tried. I just can't see anybody being excited by that, there's nothing to get your teeth into. 5.5/10

She really gave it a lot and even though I can't understand the lyrics, her voice does a great job of purveying emotion. Pretty good, but I am bored of the downtempo now, seriously. 6.5/10

I wouldn't count this out, Crno I Belo was much rougher than this, while this builds pretty damn well. I'd love to see her through if only to throw a tiny bone to the poor Macedonians, who haven't qualified with a non-Kaliopi entry since 2007. Oh and it's also a good song.

Lithuania / Donny Montell - I've Been Waiting For This Night / EASILY the best song so far. Not sure what was going on with the staging though, it didn't work for the song at all and the camera angles were way too frantic, rather than the Iveta/Oscar controlled nature of the switching camera angles. Purely as a song though, as I say, one of my favourites of the year. Obviously very Swedish, very Darin and I'm a sucker for a OHHHHHHH section in a song. MILES better than the 2012 mess aswell. 9/10

I can see why it probably won't win, it's a stroke away from being an A Million Voices moment but there's just a little something missing from taking it there, maybe a little bit too well done and emotionless which Polina obviously had bucketloads of. But, still, another fantastic song, one of the strongest I've heard so far and the best ballad for sure. 9/10

Slovenia's song was clearly meant for the Stockholm 2000 contest in Globen, so dated. They'd have finished 14th with this 16 years ago but will be joining Switzerland in the bottom three of this semi this evening.

Bulgaria / Poli Genova - If Love Was A Crime / I don't think that felt as impactful live as it does on the studio version and I'm gonna put that down to the staging. The crash into that chorus really shouldn't hit in with her just doing some weird leg wiggle. It needs people with big drums on stage, something maybe in the vein of Linus Svenning's Forever Starts Today? If I hadn't heard it beforehand and loved the studio, I don't think I'd be AS impressed. But, it's undeniably a very good song and I love that chorus, I just wanted more live. I hope it's enough. 9/10

Denmark / Lighthouse X - Soldiers Of Love / Another case where I can't help thinking what could have been. Anja, Simone, Veronica's Illusion, Muri & Mario, anything. I don't think it's a bad song by any means, it is rather melodic, but in a pack of all these other songs, much like Ireland, it completely pales. I do prefer it to that though. 6/10

Im on catch up,Nicky performed well for Ireland but the staging was awful,whoever stages the Irish entries should be fired as they get it wrong every year.Sweden have gave a fantastic stage andiI'm gutted how underused it was by Ireland.

Norway / Agnete - Icebreaker / What an odd song! Very clunky and mis-matched, but it definitely grabbed my attention and I was really enjoying it by the end. A highlight of the night and because of its oddness, it somehow makes it appealing and something I'll want to go back to after the show. 7.5/10

Norway were underwhelming. The song grew on me a lot. The chorus is weird but the verses are fabulous. The performance however fell flat. Lacked the oomph. Bring back Margaret plz

Albania / Eneda Tarifa - Fairytale / Very forgettable. It's like at the end she realised she had a complete dud of a song and decided she had to shout to leave any impression whatsoever. Belgium have really remembered how to do Eurovision in the last few years, that was quite a stageshow, lifting a quite good song to a likely top half finish in the final.

Belgium / Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure / I think she makes what is actually a good song, feel very naff. It definitely stood out though and it was a strong closer and one of the strongest songs of the semi, I just definitely agree that it needed to be performed by someone with more strength in their voice. A grower I imagine though and a spectacle for the final, solid pop song with great production. 7.5/10

Laura was very very impressive. Yet again, not one of my favourite songs although I like it, but she was an amazing performer! Especially to dance like that and not compromise the vocals <3

Don't know how Georgia keep doing this but Lithuania and Belgium were essential for me so it ended on a high. And I'm happy with Sweden being the only Nordic country in the final for what it's worth

Ew at Poland going through, other than that, a pretty good result. It makes it a lot more open, I think. It could literally be one of about 5 countries that could win, imo. Really enjoyed that semi!

SO happy that Donny got through. Absolutely brilliant performance. I think the winner will be between: Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, France & Australia - and out of those I'd love for one of Australia or Sweden to win. Would love for Latvia to do something, but I doubt they will. Also ecstatic that Bulgaria got through!

Very very very pleasing results and I wasn't too mad with Poland qualifying early as it proved the diaspora voting was having an impact on this semi and therefore Lithuania should be safe which they were! Biggest surprise for me was Georgia, absolutely fantastic camerawork and on par with the amazing camerawork of Cyprus and Armenia - all 3 of these (and Lithuania) were stage directed by Sacha-Jean Baptiste I believe so fantastic work from her.

So pleased for Poli, I think the staging did let it down a bit but the quality of the songs thankfully shined through. Very pleased Sanja decided to go for a different note at the key change as she'd missed the original version of that note in previous rehearsals and it paid off. Dami's song is still very average but her live performance lifted it so much as I expected and I thought she could provide a battle to Russia although her half draw put a little dent in those chances. However I think Dami has much more chance of victory than Jamala even with the worse draw, the latter just isn't as accessible despite me liking her performance very much.

Thanks SVT for leaving 2 of my big 3 pre-semi favourites to the last 2 envelopes but thankfully all 3 made it in the end. Shame for Norway but the momentum was completely lost over the past week and it isn't too surprising as I had Norway and Macedonia as the most vulnerable of my top 10 predictions with Poland and Georgia most likely to take their spaces so glad I was correct there!
