Taken from her Facebook 'Beverley Knight, Queen of UK Soul, and now Queen of the West End, is back with a brand new album and tour for 2016. Beverley will be releasing her 8th studio album on East West Records in the Spring of 2016, which will be followed by a UK tour, dates below. 2015 sees Beverley celebrating 20 years since the release of her debut album the B- Funk and the tour will feature her hits from down the years, songs she has performed in her critically acclaimed West End shows, as well as material from the forthcoming album, more details of which will be announced shortly.' QUOTE Full tour dates are: Saturday 21 May- Ipswich Regent Sunday 22 May – Southend Cliffs Pavilion Tuesday 24 May- Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre Wednesday 25 May- London Palladium Saturday 28 May - Manchester Bridgewater Hall Sunday 29 May- Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Monday 30 May- Edinburgh Queen Hall Wednesday 1 June- Sheffield City Hall Thursday 2 June- Birmingham Symphony Hall Friday 3 June- York Barbican Sunday 5 June- Gateshead Sage Monday 6 June- Bristol Colston Hall Tuesday 7 June- Brighton Dome Very excited. Feels like ages since having a full album from Bev, don't really count Soul UK as it was all covers, 100% was alright on the whole. Another 'Affirmation' please. |

YASSSS! I've got tickets to Sheffield, London and Manchester. Been waiting too long for this album/tour. I saw her twice in Memphis and twice in The Bodyguard and I'm seeing her in Cats this week, but it's not enough! I'm hoping for some good original material in the vein of "Affirmation".

*NEWS*
The album is called "Soulsville" and is inspired by the sounds and stylings of Memphis. It include new material and covers. Tracklisting: 1 Middle of Love 2 When I See You Again 3 Private Number (with Jamie Cullum) 4 All Things Must Change 5 I Can't Stand the Rain 6 Red Flag 7 Don't Play That Song for Me 8 Still Here 9 Sitting on the Edge 10 Hound Dog (feat. Jools Holland) 11 I Won't Be Looking Back 12 Hold On I'm Coming (with Sam Moore) The single is "Middle Of Love" and can be heard here: http://smarturl.it/MiddleOfLove EXCITED. Too many covers for my liking, but "I Can't Stand The Rain" is an absolute tune and I look forward to her version. This post has been edited by AaronTM: Apr 29 2016, 02:28 PM |

I am so ready for this album. I'm not crazy about the single though. It's very Bev and what she's all about ("SOUL"), but I wanted something more memorable.

I'm going on Wednesday Why is the album out after the tour ? Wtf ?? From what I could tell, they seemed to be aiming to have the album out earlier than this - I'm sure it was initially said to be planned for an April release. II'm guessing they set the tour dates with an April release in mind, then the album was delayed until June. But now she's back in the West End with The Boydguard from mid-July until January, so she has to go into rehearsals almost as soon as the tour is over. I'm guessing this meant there was no option to push back the tour so it took place before the album release. It's a bit of a shame, but I'm still excited to see her! |
