OH MY GOD!!

Calvin getting into deep house then presumably with the song title and Disciples feature. When do we get to hear this??

Posted by: Ne Plus Ultra Jun 3 2015, 04:49 PM

Please tell me it's not a Bee Gees cover.

Maybe just a dip in that deep house because it strays a bit from his own style.

Posted by: James1987 Jun 3 2015, 05:04 PM

Need to hear this now!!!!

omg!!! w00t.gif cannot wait to hear this bounce.gif

Posted by: ”braydhen! Jun 3 2015, 09:41 PM

Oh wow this sounds potentially very interesting! ohmy.gif

Posted by: call me ketalina Jun 3 2015, 09:42 PM

im a little bit wet?

Posted by: mr_aly Jun 4 2015, 12:16 AM

Colour me hyped!

Calvin is very hit and miss (but when he gets it right, it's so right) but I'm confident Disciples have the power to ensure this is something great!

Bring it on. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Juan Carlos Jun 4 2015, 01:56 AM

I was in a rush, so I only could uploaded Calvin's picture confirming the song from him and Disciples.

Apparently, it will be out in two weeks according to Ina Wroldsen's https://instagram.com/p/3edAcsqFYK/ on a post she did in Instagram, where she mentioned that she will sing on it. That said, I'm not too sure if she referred as 'out' to be available to purchase or a radio premiere. Personally, I think it will be the latter.

I am thinking about the same thing.

Posted by: Dobbo Jun 4 2015, 05:26 PM

Meh not feeling the hype as much as norm for upcoming Calvin releases, probably because They Don't Know was pretty bland...

Often these examples are when the song turns out to be great though so here's hoping.

Posted by: gavindeejay Jun 4 2015, 05:41 PM

Ohhh looking forward to this! I guess this is the bridge between the 'Motion' era and Calvin 5.

Posted by: Juan Carlos Jun 5 2015, 02:01 AM

It's available for pre-order with an August 7 release date on iTunes as it's shown in the OP. That said, it will be out WW (minus the US and Canada so far) on June 29, so I think it will be premiered later this month.

Posted by: slowdown73 Jun 10 2015, 05:08 PM

I can't see this being a cover version - it doesn't seem to be Calvin's style. I wonder if its from a reissue of motion for later this year?

Posted by: Hadji Jun 10 2015, 10:10 PM

I reckon they'll re-release "Motion" and include this on there

Yes, I agree given the fairly low sales of motion so far compared to 18 months. I suspect we might get 3-4 new tracks on the reissue.

Posted by: Juan Carlos Jun 18 2015, 02:31 PM

Looks like this is a future house track according to a German website, which made a review and uploaded it as well. That said, that post was removed as well as the audio, so the track, hopefully, didn't spread out. Also, there wasn't any mention of a Bee Gees sample/cover, so I assume it's an original one.

Posted by: DannyAdelante Jun 22 2015, 04:57 PM

Just heard a rip of the song from his EDC set this weekend. Absolutely love it!

Posted by: Spinning Adam =D Jun 22 2015, 07:34 PM

Ooh can't wait to here this collab heart.gif

Posted by: slowdown73 Jun 27 2015, 09:35 AM

Finally heard this. Its definitely not a cover version. Sounded ok.

Posted by: James1987 Jun 28 2015, 12:44 PM

It's a rip from a live show but it sounds incredible!

And it's release date has been brought forwards to July 17th according to the release schedule so I expect this will premier properly around Thursday 9th/Friday 10th July

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jul 12 2015, 10:30 PM

Well no premiere yet so I think Calvin might be going OA/OS with this unless it debuts tomorrow

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jul 13 2015, 03:16 AM

A bit of a preview from Calvin's Instagram: https://instagram.com/p/45FSBEt3O_/?taken-by=calvinharris

Yep it's definitely gonna be OA/OS if the UK release date is the same time as the premiere

I think Calvin will pull the same strategy he did with "Blame" last year with an OA/OS release as you mentioned before. That said, I think it will be delivered to US radios around 2am. EST / 8am. GMT on Thursday and, as a consequence, it will be premiered on the UK radios at that time.

Also, I've seen many of you (as well as I) listened to the rip of his EDC Las Vegas DJ set last month and I can say that the version he played there was the R3hab remix of the track and the one he's going to release this Friday is really different from it (and his usual stuff as well).

Posted by: slowdown73 Jul 13 2015, 08:57 PM

Not sure if this will make number one next week. Its certainly not his best and bit disappointed by it compared to his recent material. It's also going up against Little Mix and John Newman, although the later track isn't that good neither.

Posted by: Ethan Jul 13 2015, 09:07 PM

disagree ~ 'how deep is your love' is sounding amazing heart.gif

Posted by: Juan Carlos Jul 13 2015, 09:28 PM

The WW premiere is going to be this Thursday at 3am. EST / 12am. PST / 9am. GMT, according to Columbia's promo newsletter.

Posted by: James1987 Jul 13 2015, 10:02 PM

I can see this being Radio 1's track of the day on Thursday/Friday so hopefully this will help give the track a boost!

Posted by: Juan Carlos Jul 14 2015, 08:04 PM

New preview on Calvin's Twitter and you could listen to it https://twitter.com/CalvinHarris/status/621015296946507776.

"Blame" had a similar radio premiere back in September 4, which was Thursday, and it was TOTD on BBC Radio 1 the next day, so it could happen to "How Deep Is Your Love" as you mentioned before.

Solid track! Definitely much better than a lot of Motion.

Posted by: Joe. Jul 15 2015, 07:08 PM

Hmmmm. I'm not 100% sold. It's not as strong as 'Blame' or 'Pray to God' (on a first listen), which were my favourites from Motion, but there are some nice, unique touches on this track. The main beat and all the main vocalist (Ina?)'s 'How Deep is Your Love' etc is just too generic for me. BUT on the positive, I like the 'Ah-aha-ah-ooohs' and the 'So tell me..' male vocals parts (Is that Calvin?).

I can't see it being an instant top 3 like some of his others, but I'm sure it'll hang around and do decently.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jul 16 2015, 01:27 PM

Supposedly Gigi Hadid is in the video?

I totally agree - its definately not as strong as his recent singles and sounds like a leftover track from the Motion sessions. I suspect this will go top10 but doubt it will be a massive hit.

Posted by: ScottyEm Jul 17 2015, 09:24 AM

It's a 7/10 for me. Nice bassline, good to see him working with someone a little unexpected... not feeling the twee vocals though?

Posted by: AdamAloud Jul 17 2015, 01:34 PM

Just seen this on Scandipop (thanks to Ina) and was pleasantly surprised! ohmy.gif Best Calvin single in a while for me.

Posted by: MOBILE ADAM Jul 17 2015, 06:07 PM

I can definitely see this growing on me yahoo.gif

Posted by: Ryan. Jul 17 2015, 06:07 PM

Really liking this, I think it's my favourite Calvin single since the '18 Months' era! wub.gif

Posted by: Danvicii Jul 17 2015, 09:01 PM

this song is seriously good heart.gif of course I expected this from Calvin taking on deep house but glad it hasn't disappointed

Posted by: AV102 Jul 17 2015, 10:52 PM

loving this

Posted by: James1987 Jul 17 2015, 11:14 PM

I have to admit I wasn't sure on this version as I'd loved the remix from the live show but now this has really clicked with me! Calvin has yet to disappoint me with a single so far

Posted by: Joe. Jul 18 2015, 10:17 AM

After a few more listens, I think this is a really decent track.

Posted by: mr_aly Jul 18 2015, 10:47 AM

I'm assuming Disciples input is what's making this better than most of Calvin's recent output.

Posted by: Dobbo Jul 18 2015, 11:20 AM

I'm sure it'll grow but right now I'm quite underwhelmed by this. Sounds a lot weaker than his singles from Motion (bar Pray To God).

Posted by: SLlewellyn Jul 18 2015, 05:50 PM

I know deep house is the rage right now, but this track still manages to stand out. Wasn't expecting it to see it T10 on iTunes (despite the credit to Calvin Harris), so thinks are looking very promising for it at the moment. Still left wondering if they'll bother with another single from 'Motion', but hey ho.

Well only 3 days later & consider this comment retracted! Really enjoying this change of sound wub.gif

Posted by: Cameron Jul 25 2015, 06:49 PM

This is outstanding

Posted by: J▲hq Jul 25 2015, 07:55 PM

Hate this. Not as good as any of the Motion singles sad.gif

Posted by: Griff Jul 25 2015, 07:56 PM

I still don't understand how Pray To God didn't do so well commerically.

Posted by: JosephStyles Jul 25 2015, 07:59 PM

This is SO GOOD. I'm enjoying the slight change in sound for Calvin, his style was becoming really tired for me with the washing machine breakdown on every song, meaning that if I actually liked them in the first place, I got bored so quickly. Hopefully this can stand the test of time, Ina's vocals are brilliant and Disciples surprising me after the absolutey hideous They Don't Know ohmy.gif

Posted by: slowdown73 Jul 26 2015, 10:21 AM

This has grown on me but still not as good as any of the singles from Motion. I loved pray to god too and don't understand why it didn't do better.

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 Jul 26 2015, 11:22 PM

Absolutely adore this, Ina's vocals are amazing and this is Calvin's best in absolutely ages wub.gif

So pleased he's departing from the overbaked EMD sound, a sound which surely must be on its way out now? A savvy move. A change in sound, but without alienating his fanbase.

Posted by: JVSH Aug 3 2015, 11:45 PM

Rather unfortunate the first line sounds like "I want you to breed me", considering the connotations of the title.

I've come to expect a Calvin Harris video to be awful. They're all pretty much the same.
