Ballad of the Mighty I is REALLY GOOD, similar style to AKA...What a Life but a lot more dramatic sounding and building.
In The Heat of the Moment was good too, I didn't get round to listening to their debut, but I may check this one (and the debut ofc. ) out. Always the best part of Oasis, and he hasn't disappointed since then!
The b side to ...Moment was good too
Video is awful though.
I am really looking forward to hearing this album.
I quite like Ballad Of The Mighty I
I am surprised there is no thread for it, I thought it would have garnered up a lot of talk.
I can't wait for this album. I loved 'In The Heat Of The Moment' and love 'Ballad of The Mighty I' even more!
Leaked
Didn't realise there was a thread for this. Huge Oasis fan, and Noel's solo stuff is yet to disappoint with first album and the two singles that I've heard so far, particularly 'Ballad of the Mighty I' which is wonderful. Don't know whether to listen to leak or wait!
I know we shouldn't really compare, but Noel's stuff has been so much better than Beady Eye.
Out tomorrow! Apart from the two singles I've avoided all instant grats and previews and will listen to the album in full tomorrow!
'In The Heat Of The Moment' and 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' are both really good! Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' output has really been in another league compared to Beady Eye from what I've heard.
Yes both singles are phenomenal, I will definitely be purchasing the album.
Beady Eye haven't really captured my imagination as much as Noel's solo output, but I think their second album 'BE' was better than the first at least. 'Another Bite of the Apple' was a v. good single.
Been streaming the album on iTunes since last week and LOVE it, it's every bit as good as his first album for me, and still better than some of the latter Oasis albums
Oh and the B-sides (which appear on the deluxe version of the album), 'Do The Damage' and 'Revolution Song' are great too, though I haven't heard 'Freaky Teeth' yet. Looking forward to getting my CD in the post some time this week.
Love this album already. He just gets better with age. River an really reminds me of Pink Floyd's sax-breakdown in Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Hes so talented. Best songwriter right now from UK
