#SlayberryTop50!!! Chart Show!
With Cody Christian!

Week Ending: April 19, 2015
http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176876

It was a pretty big day last week and we all know that it was the first EVER jameela.jpg chart show. Here's what happened:
1.) (1.) (8) Fifth Harmony & Kid Ink - Worth It *2 weeks @ #1*
2.) (3.) (7) Zedd & Selena Gomez - I Want You To Know *2 weeks @ #1*
3.) (6.) (6) Deorro & Chris Brown - Five More Hours

Fifth Harmony took the top spot last week, but can they make it a hat trick this week, or will someone new take the #1 spot? Also, some firsts and some interesting debuts today.

50 arrow down.gif 43 05
Oliver Heldens - "Melody"
Non-album single
Chart Run: 49-47-44-43-50... (05 weeks)

Kicking things off in the Encore Edition we have Oliver Heldens with "Melody". He may have failed to match the peak of previous charter "Koala", but it sure left an impact in the chart, being the DJ's 3rd hit.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 10:56 PM

Chart Contender #1:
Dr. Kucho! & Gregor Salto f/Ane Brun - "Can't Stop Playing (Makes Me High)" (Oliver Heldens Remix)
Non-album single

Speaking of Oliver Heldens, here's the rework of Dr. Kucho! and Gregor Salto's dance smash, "Can't Stop Playing (Makes Me High)" with vocalist Ane Brun. It just got released in the UK and it's sure to make waves. The question is: can it become as big as "Gecko (Overdrive)".

49 ne.gif 01
Skrillex & Diplo f/Justin Bieber - "Where Are Ü Now"
2nd single, Skrillex & Diplo Present: Jack Ü
Chart Run: 49... (01 weeks)

The first debut of the night goes to the team up of Skrillex and Diplo, known to most EDM junkies as Jack Ü. This is a sick beat, despite it sounding more Diplo than Skrillex, but then again, that's most of the album. Also props to them for making Justin Bieber relevant again.

48 arrow up.gif 50 02
OMI - "Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)"
Non-album single
Chart Run: 50-48... (01 weeks)

"Cheerleader" debuted last week with some high hopes, and it was released this week in the UK with...possibly no chance of getting #1. It's a close race tho. The good thing is that it's beginning to do stuff in the US, starting with Radio Disney - it was featured as the station's Music Mailbag song.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:12 PM

47 arrow up.gif 48 02
Ed Sheeran & Rudimental - "Bloodstream"
4th single, X
Chart Run: 48-47... (02 weeks)

Yikes at this only moving up one spot. You can tell that Ed overload is beginning to take its toll on the chart, but maybe it's because we don't know if this is gonna be the next single in the US. It probably will, but not as the Rudimental mix. sad.gif Anyway, in my opinion this rework is absolutely beautiful, despite it being darker than most Rudimental stuff.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:19 PM

46 arrow down.gif 45 04
Fall Out Boy - "Uma Thurman"
2nd single, American Beauty/American Psycho
Chart Run: 49-46-45-46... (04 weeks)

A special treat with this next one, we're gonna play the remix of this song featuring Wiz Khalifa! The boys of Fall Out Boy have done well for themselves lately, and hopefully this song picks up in US pop radio.

45 arrow up.gif 49 02
Rihanna - "Bitch Better Have My Money"
2nd single, TBA
Chart Run: 49-45... (02 weeks)

I LOVE listening to Urban Rihanna because I feel that it's the style that I would grind and twerk to. Not that genre matters. Anyway, this has lasted pretty well as a buzz/follow-up to "FourFiveSeconds".

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:32 PM

44 arrow down.gif 35 15
AronChupa - "I'm An Albatraoz"
Non-album single
Chart Run: 23-16-15-12-10-7-5-5-10-13-17-21-27-35-44... (15 weeks)

One of the first songs to debut this year, and now one of the last remaining from the first two weeks, let alone the biggest debut week. This song was a massive earworm when I first heard this new New Year's Eve, and now it's already peaked in this chart. However, it's about to impact in the UK, so we'll see where this goes.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:37 PM

43 ne.gif 01
Tinashe - "All Hands On Deck"
3rd single, Aquarius
Chart Run: 43... (01 weeks)

The second debut comes from the latest R&B sensation, Tinashe. With a hot ratchet anthem like this, it will certainly pull some eyes forward. Now she just needs to go forward and promote this now.

Also, shout-out to Cameron because I know he really likes this song, probably without Iggy!

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:43 PM

42 ne.gif 01
Wiz Khalifa f/Charlie Puth - "See You Again"
Soundtrack single, Furious 7
Chart Run: 42... (01 weeks)

The third debut comes from someone who's no stranger to cruising through the charts: Wiz Khalifa. This time, he brings forth a very emotional soundtrack single with YouTube singer (and Meghan Trainor fan) Charlie Puth, with "See You Again". This is the pair's first song to debut, and their first Billboard chart topper!!!

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:48 PM

41 ne.gif 01
Kendall K - "Wear Em Out"
Non-album single
Chart Run: 41... (01 weeks)

This is the highest debut of the week, and this was mainly due to Dance Moms hype, a low-quality version of the actual video and of course the fact that a 12-year-old girl has made something as campy as this. And I am absolutely IMPRESSED by how it's wormed into my head.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:49 PM

Recap:

41.) NEW (1) Kendall K - Wear Em Out
42.) NEW (1) Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth - See You Again
43.) NEW (1) Tinashe - All Hands On Deck
44.) (35.) (15) AronChupa - I'm An Albatraoz
45.) (49.) (2) Rihanna - Bitch Better Have My Money
46.) (45.) (4) Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman
47.) (48.) (2) Ed Sheeran & Rudimental - Bloodstream
48.) (50.) (2) OMI - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Radio Edit)
49.) NEW (1) Skrillex & Diplo w/Justin Bieber - Where Are Ü Now

Flashback Track #1:

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 17 2015, 11:58 PM

40 arrow up.gif 46 03
Martin Garrix f/Usher - "Don't Look Down"
2nd single, +x
Chart Run: 47-46-40... (03 weeks)

I'd like to say that Martin Garrix is getting more situated with his new sound, and it's pretty banging. So much that it can make Usher redeem himself from the annoying monstrosity that is "I Don't Mind" sick2.gif Usher's vocals blend nicely with this, and Martin's production is spot-on (then again, when isn't it?). Now that this is getting some radio support, Martin should be well on his way to a second US hit cheer.gif

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:05 AM

39 arrow down.gif 38
Iggy Azalea f/Jennifer Hudson - "Trouble"
7th single, The New Classic/Reclassified
Chart Run: 50-45-39-39-38-39... (05 weeks)

Okay, gotta say this: the single cover actually looks pretty cool. The "Trouble" video is what the "Change Your Life" video should have probably been (despite it being fab as f*ck). J-Hudd's lipstick color is EVERYTHING. J-Hudd is EVERYTHING.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:14 AM

38 arrow up.gif 41 03
Jess Glynne - "Hold My Hand"
2nd single, TBA
Chart Run: 44-41-38... (03 weeks)

"Hold My Hand" marks Jess Glynne's 3rd top 40 in the entire history of the chart, let alone her first one as a solo. This UK #1 is just shy of top 40 this week, and you'll get to see what blocked it later on. Anyway, this is an amazing breakthrough for Jess, getting the "Rather Be" singer her first #1 as a solo artist, and possibly aiming to smash in the US (and possibly stripping her of her one-hit wonder status there).

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:23 AM

37 arrow left.gif 37 04
Clean Bandit - "Stronger"
8th Single, New Eyes
Chart Run: 40-38-37-37... (04 weeks)

Up next is the group who gave Jess Glynne the ticket to her fame: Clean Bandit. With a re-recording that features Sean Bass (related to previous vocalist Sharna Bass) and Glee star Alex Newell, the song is just a euphoric sense of good vibes and string instruments, pretty much what made them famous in the first place.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:27 AM

36 arrow up.gif 40 02
Hilary Duff - "Sparks"
3rd Single, TBA
Chart Run: 40-36... (02 weeks)

You can recently see Hilary Duff on the new TV Land series Younger, in which she plays a young editor working with the main character, and is mainly known for being the epitome of youth. This song takes us back to the youthful side of all of us. It's very much like Dignity.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:32 AM

35 arrow down.gif 27 10
Madonna - "Living For Love"
Lead Single, Rebel Heart
Chart Run: 28-21-13-11-8-9-11-21-27-35... (10 weeks)

Well, we all know the main story: Madonna pretty much fell on her butt during the BRITs after she was dragged by her cape and sent flying. Just a few days ago, she shared a little snog with Canadian rapper Drake. That's how powerful this woman is. Anything she does becomes world-renowned - it recently made headlines. But enough about her: while this song didn't gain the longevity most people think it deserved, it surely pleased us when she performed it whenever she did.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:37 AM

34 arrow down.gif 26 20
Calvin Harris f/HAIM - "Pray To God"
4th Single, Motion
Chart Run: 3-3-6-5-6-6-4-5-5-1-1-2-4-6-9-11-17-22-26-34... (20 weeks)

Dropping 8 spots are Taylor's (alleged) current comfort buddy Calvin Harris and the girls who probably introduced him to her, HAIM, with their single, "Pray To God". Pretty impressive chart run. This song first charted when I believed that it was gaining some attention in the US, due to it getting added in my local stations' playlists. They went with "Outside" first, which was why this lingered outside the top 5 for a few weeks, but then the video came and sent the song shooting up to #1. Right when it has became tiring to keep this song so high up, it became the next US single. Where this will take it, I do not know yet.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:41 AM

All right, let's get to another contender:

Chart Contender #2:
Life Of Dillon - "Overload
Non-album single

New and upcoming British band Life Of Dillon are up with their latest single, "Overload". Now, while most of you know this as Jonjo's entry for BuzzJack Song Contest (#hype), the real truth is that it's been impacting US radio for a few weeks now. Hopefully a raise in promo and possible performances can get this up to top 30 in US radio, but a top 40 at this stage is pretty impressive for a band with little to no hype.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:45 AM

33 arrow down.gif 32 06
DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge - "You Know You Like It"
Lead Single, Body Talk
Chart Run: 49-39-33-32-32-33... (06 weeks)

So personal story: I was sorta into the original version after it became a free single on iTunes because, you know, I like paying attention to things that I got with a budget. I like saving money tbh. Sadly, it was rampaged by the influx of summer songs that I was listening back in '13. Then this remix came and it started impacting radio, and I was a bit shocked. Now I kinda like this a lot more than I should. Dropping a spot down to #33 is DJ Snake and AlunaGeorge with "You Know You Like It".

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:51 AM

32 arrow down.gif 25 23
Lilly Wood & the Prick f/Robin Schulz - "Prayer In C"
2nd Single, Prayer
Chart Run: 45-39-36-31-14-9-8-4-4-3-1-1-3-5-7-10-12-16-18-20-23-25... (22 weeks)

Dropping 7 spots is another song about prayer. And this one stuck around longer than the previous song! This was also a UK #1 that somehow made a late transfer to the US, but I wasn't too concerned about that. This is the second time a Robin Schulz track has mesmerized me as much as "Waves" did. I wonder why he didn't bother releasing a third single from that album to the UK and US...

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:56 AM

31 arrow down.gif 29 07
LunchMoney Lewis - "Bills
Non-album single
Chart Run: 49-43-33-32-29-29-31... (0607 weeks)

Dropping just 2 spots is LunchMoney Lewis with his latest single, "Bills". This was actually a surprise for me. I never knew a song like this would be so damn catchy, yet so fresh and innovating. It kinda sounds like something that would be in a cartoon. And I kinda like that aspect. Recently, Meghan Trainor covered this song at one of her concerts. Will it help sales? Definitely.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 12:59 AM

Recap:

31.) (29.) (7) LunchMoney Lewis - Bills
32.) (25.) (23) Lilly Wood & The Prick - Prayer In C (Robin Schulz Mix) *2 weeks @ #1*
33.) (32.) (6) DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge - You Know You Like It

Flashback Track #2:

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:11 AM

30 arrow down.gif 18 10
Nicki Minaj f/Drake & Lil Wayne - "Truffle Butter"
5th Single, The Pinkprint
Chart Run: 48-37-29-24-20-14-12-14-18... (09 weeks)

The biggest dropper this week is a shock single for the album. This somehow got an exorbitant amount of airplay after "Bed Of Lies" barely received a push in the US. It also entered the top 10 in US Rhythmic airplay at around the same time "Only" reached the top 5. This won out. Not surprised though: the song is beyond catchy.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:12 AM

29 arrow up.gif 33 03
Krewella - "Somewhere To Run"
Lead Single, TBA
Chart Run: 45-33-29... (03 weeks)

Getting greatest gainer honors this week are the comeback queens themselves, Krewella! The Yousaf sisters are back with a vengeance and here to prove their naysayers wrong after a dirty split with former third member Rain Man. This was pretty much all the difference. It's in your face, it's just as hard-hitting as "Alive", and it's powerful. Ladies, we've missed you.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:19 AM

28 arrow up.gif 36 05
Shaggy f/Mohombi, Faydee & Costi - "I Need Your Love"
Non-album Single
Chart Run: 50-48-41-36-28... (05 weeks)

Up 8 spots is the mega-collab-comeback thingy by Shaggy. So earlier this year, I was actually reminded that Shaggy still exists. Wow. Anyway, here's the single by him that has managed to crack the US top 40 airplay charts, ending a drought of his songs spanning up to 12/13 years! Crazy. Also the first for the other three as well.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:24 AM

27 arrow down.gif 23 24
Taylor Swift - "Blank Space"
2nd Single, 1989
Chart Run: 34-2-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-2-2-4-6-7-9-11-15-20-22-23-24-26-23-27... (24 weeks)

Since senior year, I've always thought that Taylor Swift has spoken to me at a spiritual level. It's like she got me. This song was pretty much the bulk of my high school career. And that was the most bad-ass part of loving this song. There is that guy I had a rivalry with and it did seem like I wanted to kill him at times. But y'know, every page always has a blank space. It's up to you whether or not to sign your life away.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:29 AM

26 arrow down.gif 22 08
Charli XCX f/Rita Ora - "Doing It"
3rd Single, Sucker
Chart Run: 48-45-40-30-29-25-22-26... (08 weeks)

Down 4 spots is Charli XCX, who is absolutely brilliant. She explained in a radio spot for Pepsi that this song was supposed to bring a euphoric 80's summer sound, almost like The Breakfast Club meets Clueless. Rita is like the seasoning to this already amazing track, tbh.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:36 AM

25 arrow up.gif 39 03
Brielle - "Catch A Star For You"
Lead Single, TBA
Chart Run: 48-39-25... (03 weeks)

A huge gain for New York native Brielle, who gained notice for being my choice for Buzzjack Song Contest. Yay. #CorLupusForBJSC74

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:46 AM

All right, let's get to another contender:

Chart Contender #3:
Jacquie Lee - "Tears Fall"
Non-album single

The next contender comes from The Voice alum Jacquie Lee, who I didn't think would make it extremely far at first (then again, I was rooting for Tessanne the most), but this single proved me wrong. And thanks to Radio Disney, this is now close to charting. Here is "Tears Fall".

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:53 AM

24 arrow down.gif 20 09
Tori Kelly - "Nobody Love"
Non-album Single
Chart Run: 49-36-36-25-25-18-18-20-24... (09 weeks)

Many people on Buzzjack know Tori Kelly as the vocalist on Professor Green's "Lullaby". Now, she's got her own single and a lot of spunk to prove it. It's a pretty nice song and the production kinda reminds me of "Problem".

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 01:56 AM

23 arrow up.gif 30 04
Meghan Trainor - "Dear Future Husband"
3rd Single, Title
Chart Run: 38-34-30-23... (04 weeks)

Up 7 spots to #23 is Meghan Trainor's latest single, "Dear Future Husband". Fun fact: Charlie Puth, who you heard earlier in "See You Again", actually appears in this video. Ah, I remember how far this song has gotten. From a standout in her EP to a single in her actual album. I called that sh*t.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 02:02 AM

22 arrow down.gif 16 14
Ellie Goulding - "Love Me Like You Do"
Soundtrack single, Fifty Shades Of Grey
Chart Run: 48-31-23-14-3-1-3-8-10-13-14-15-16-22... (14 weeks)

Down 6 spots this week is Ellie Goulding's massive soundtrack smash, "Love Me Like You Do". This was obviously shaping up to become Ellie's biggest hit yet. It obviously was in the UK. Will she transcend her previous record in the US? Who knows. Keep in mind she did this with a soundtrack song. Now, Fifty Shades was a GIANT movie. One other song from the soundtrack will appear later. Ellie... KILLED IT with this song.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 02:09 AM

21 arrow down.gif 19 08
Alesso f/Roy English - "Cool"
4th Single, Forever
Chart Run: 43-37-33-31-27-19-19-21... (08 weeks)

Also missing out in the top 20 is Alesso's "Cool". Well, I just realized that Alesso has already announced his album, so I may have to end up changing my Best & Worst Of 2014 thread as well oops tongue.gif Anyway, this is a pretty cool song with a pretty cool Kylie sample.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 02:12 AM

20 arrow up.gif 28 04
Galantis - "Runaway (U & I)"
Non-album Single
Chart Run: 41-31-28-20... (03 weeks)

The first top 20 entry is Galantis with "Runaway (U & I)". This is, no doubt, a sure fire smash. It's as euphoric as some of the other EDM big shots yet it doesn't stay too generic. The duo's style is incredible: a touch of hard-hitting drops and bass with the soft melodies existent within this song.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 02:30 AM

19 arrow down.gif 14 18
Sia f/The Weeknd & Diplo - "Elastic Heart"
2nd single, 1000 Forms Of Fear
Chart Run: 50-45-41-41-40-38-xx-(RE)27-24-16-17-16-16-14-10-10-11-14-19... (18 weeks)

First off, it had a little bit of extra chart run room due to it charting as a cherry-pick from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, despite some duds like the extremel boring "Atlas" and the utterly typical "We Remain". Second off, PRAISE MADDIE. If this video wasn't released with such controversy, it probably wouldn't have been on my chart right now. Hey, same peak at the UK!

18 arrow up.gif 24 06
Years & Years - "King"
2nd Single, Communion
Chart Run: 44-35-31-28-24-18... (06 weeks)

This previous #1 jumps up 6 spots this week. It just seems like we're playing a game of Chain Reaction here. Anyway, this is the trio's first entry into the chart, let alone their first top 30. This is also starting to take off in the US, with a San Diego station on board. Guess I know which one I'll be tuning in for this song. tongue.gif

Chart Contender #4:
Katy Tiz - "Whistle (While You Work It)"
Non-album single

The fourth contender for the chart this week comes from Katy Tiz, who entered US airwaves through her cover of Rock Mafia's "The Big Bang" (which also made the chart before). This time, she's come out with another original song, and this one is amazingly catchy. It's a potential for next month lol.

Cash Cash - "Surrender"
Non-album single
Chart Run: 44-34-20-17-17... (05 weeks)

Still remaining in that top 20 position is Cash Cash with "Surrender". Y'know, for four weeks, its chart run is rather impressive. The trio landed themselves their third charter last month, and it only took them three weeks for this to out peak "Take Me Home". That just proves that the US is mishandling them unlike what they're doing in other countries.

Walk The Moon - "Shut Up And Dance"
Lead Single, Talking Is Hard
Chart Run: 50-48-43-35-30-21-16... (07 weeks)

The next top 20 entry goes to Walk The Moon with their insta-hit, "Shut Up And Dance". Now this was a surprise. I never thought I'd be getting into this song when it was first released, but I thought, "Why not buy it as a free single and wait until it actually clicks with me?" It eventually did when I kept hearing it on the radio. Such a banger, it is.

Taylor Swift - "Style"
3rd single, 1989
Chart Run: 38-18-8-4-4-6-7-5-5-6-8-10-15... (13 weeks)

The end of an era cry.gif Dropping 5 spots to #15 is Taylor Swift with "Style". Just about anything from that album is perfection, but this was one of the true standouts of 1989. It kinda sounded like a country version of a mix between "Jealous" and "Do What U Want" in the production, and tbh this is one of the most country songs on the album - being that it sounds like it could come out of her last three albums. Taylor looks beautiful in the video, the effects are trippy, and the aesthetics are spot-on.

The Weeknd - "Earned It"
Soundtrack single, Fifty Shades Of Grey
Chart Run: 45-30-28-24-24-16-13-12-14... (09 weeks)

Dropping two spots is the second of the soundtrack songs from Fifty Shades Of Grey as well as the second Weeknd song. It's the sultry R&B/soul type of songs that become his identity, and I think that's what made this song pop out so much. Right now, the song is aiming for #1 in US pop airplay, so we'll see if it gets there.

Tove Lo - "Talking Body"
3rd single, Queen Of The Clouds
Chart Run: 15-3-3-2-2-3-2-5-6-8-9-9-11-13... (14 weeks)

Down two spots is the upcoming UK hit, "Talking Body". I have been saying this since the album was released: this is the best song she's ever put her name into. It's upbeat, it's fun, and more importantly, it's HOT. I fell in love with this when I first listened to the album, and I had been waiting anxiously for it to become a single. Y'all can tell just from that chart run what happened when it finally did. This picking up on US radio should give this song some serious longevity.

Nick Jonas - "Chains"
2nd single, Nick Jonas
Chart Run: 46-44-34-27-19-17-15-12... (08 weeks)

Up 3 spots is a song that merely got as high as it did because I fell in love with te Jhenè Aiko remix. I'M IN LOVE WITH HIS ALBUM. I had always thought that his team was going to return to this single when he first released "Jealous", and because that became a huge hit they decided to release this. My theory still holds true. This song is pretty hard-hitting and kinda reminds me of a Bastille song.

David Gueta f/Nicki Minaj & Afrojack - "Hey Mama"
6th Single, Listen
Chart Run: 40-31-11... (03 weeks)

The Greatest Gainer this week goes to current Guetta single, "Hey Mama". This was, for me, the standout single-turned-guilty pleasure for me with this album, mainly because it found a bunch of opposition. This becoming a single changed that, I believe. Not only does Nicki slay in her verses, but so does Bebe Rexha in delivering such a jungle-like atmosphere. It's absolutely brilliant.

10 arrow down.gif 7 10
Ariana Grande - "One Last Time"
5th single, My Everything
Chart Run: 29-10-8-4-4-4-4-5-7-10... (10 weeks)

Liam will probably be happy at this doing so well. However, releasing near the same time as Conor, Carly and Zedd really hurt the song's performance, as flawless as the song actually is. cry.gif The video was pretty simplistic and gave me The Fray teas, especially with the meteor scene. I still think this will be a pretty big song, though.

9 arrow up.gif 13 06
Ryn Weaver - "OctaHate"
Lead single, The Fool
Chart Run: 41-29-22-16-13-9... (06 weeks)

The lone top 10 entry goes to Ryn Weaver with her lead single, "OctaHate". Just like "Shut Up And Dance", I was a bit resistant to checking this song out, with my main concern being that it wasn't going to be on iTunes. At least it did now. Anyway, she's about to release The Fool later on this year, but hey, a little bit of pre-summer promo never hurt nobody. It was so different from all the other songs released this ear: it was more avant-grade. Pre-order The Fool on iTunes now.

Flo Rida f/Sage The Gemini & Lookas - "GDFR"
Lead single, My House EP
Chart Run: 47-40-38-35-30-23-12-8-7-8-8... (11 weeks)

This is probably the best Flo Rida has done in AGES and it's SEVERELY underrated here in BuzzJack. I don't understand. Anyway, I first heard this song back in August, and this didn't get a pop push until January. So that took a long time to grow on me. I think it was on my reserve playlist for a few months before I actually began to chart it (and subsequently whore it out). But yeah, a bunch of people here need to re-listen to this, because I don't get the hate.

Conor Maynard - "Talking About"
2nd single, TBA
Chart Run: 1-3-2-1-2-5-7... (7 weeks)

Also the end of an era cry.gif but he'll probably get back up there come release week in a few days

*insert something about stanning for him and "YAAAAAS CONOR YOU LOOK SO GOOD" wub.gif wub.gif cheer.gif cheer.gif* As you can tell, Conor has had an amazing track record in my chart, with him logging in two more weeks at the #1 spot for him with this song, let alone his first #1 debut. As much as I want his song to go to #1, I hope it does well to prove the naysayers that Conor is back and can still make a splash on the charts.

Carly Rae Jepsen - "I Really Like You"
Lead single, E•MO•TION
Chart Run: 2-2-1-3-4-4-6... (07 weeks)

Up next is a former #1 - the 50th #1 of the chart, "I Really Like You". It's a fun and light track for Carly and I'm so relieved that she's returned to the spotlight. This seems poised to become a huge UK #1, so to you guys, I say, "Lucky!"

Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih - "Somebody"
Lead single, TBA
Chart Run: 49-40-37-28-27-22-21-19-15-10-9-5... (12 weeks)

Natalie ha Rose. *.* I am probably one of the only people on this forum who didn't discover this song through BJSC but through other means - US radio. That phrase has been coming up a lot lately - shall we play a drinking game? I kid. But this song is a party-starter. Now it's gotten so big, even people saying her name is ikonek in a sense! Jason DeRulo teas ohmy.gif Also, Jeremih, I somewhat forgive you for "Don't Tell Em".

Chart Run: 39-26-20-13-12-6-4... (7 weeks)

Audio Here:
http://www.vidostream.com/music/listenone/6114/New-Romantics/

This will probably be the first EVER jameela.jpg song that does not have a valid YouTube or VEVO link that has peaked this high (unless I decide to go back to the other promo singles lol). This song is fun and high-spirited, just like my high school career. You can tell that Taylor is a brilliant lyricist with this.

3 arrow down.gif 2 08
Zedd f/Selena Gomez - "I Want You To Know"
Lead Single, True Colors
Chart Run: 1-3-1-3-2-3-2-3... (08 weeks)

It's amazing how this song hasn't left the top 3 yet. Pretty sure "Break Free" was the last song to have this feat. Everyone knows I love Zedd. We share the same birthday. He's my spirit animal. And he's got a new album coming out.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Apr 18 2015, 03:42 AM

Which brings me to my 2-For-1 of this week:

Chart Contender #5:
Zedd f/Bahari - "Addicted To A Memory":

This is the first of many instant grat singles from Zedd's latest album, True Colors. It's got a very colorful melody and the drop is v. ARTPOP. It's pretty much a combination of his current sound and what he showed us with his debut. It's absolutely euphoric.

Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink - "Worth It"
3rd Single, Reflection
Chart Run: 27-20-15-12-7-7-1-1-2... (09 weeks)

So Fifth Harmony have fallen off the #1 spot this week, but what matters is that they got the #1 for the first EVER jameela.jpg chart show. These girls have been killing it every step of the way and they will be putting up a good fight for the weeks to come. This will surely be exciting next week.

Your new #1 song is:

1 arrow up.gif 3 07
Deorro f/Chris Brown - "Five More Hours"
Non-album Single
Chart Run: 29-7-6-5-6-3-1.. (07 weeks)

Both Deorro and Chris Brown get their first EVER #1's this week. The highest of the songs that lasted exactly 6 weeks on the chart is here: I first heard this version after looking up Deorro following his random cameo on Teen Wolf. This guy is crazy talented. I first heard this song as the vocal version with DyCy. Now it's being reworked for the pop audience, and this is the one track that has somehow worked as a rework.

Big shake-up despite not that many albums of interest getting released lol. But Madonna finally gets that #1! Last week's champion Armin van Buuren slips down to #4 after lack of playing it I guess. Also, Taylor is back in the top 2 lol.

JAMES MCBAE <3
"New Romantics": I need "Bad Blood" NOW. I don't know how long "New Romantics" will hold up with such stiff competition in the top 10.
"I Really Like You": There's promo single "All That", but it sounds nothing like TIGOY
"Cool": Radio in general just needs to support it more
"Catch A Star For You": Narrowed down to four potentials for May lol, may need help
"Blank Space": And counting biggrin.gif
"Sparks" She's not getting any radio support so far sad.gif
"Stronger": Should move up soon, lots of songs falling down at this rate

Thanks babe <3

'All Hands on Deck' is such a jam, fantastic new entry there! Forever living in the hope that it can *somehow* smash here.

'Worth It' falling from number one in the week I finally decide to chart it. kink.gif

Great stuff. heart.gif
