Following on from her mother, The Doctor's wife River Song finishes in third place. A very respectable finish for a very on/off companion who travelled with Matt Smith's Doctor but originally appeared in Series 4 alongside David Tennant and Catherine Tate. This first appearance was actually her death scene. Her appearance have been roughly in reverse order compared to the Doctor's timeline, with a few exceptions. River is very much The Doctor's match. She's one of the rare people who seem to exert considerable control over him and also seems to be one of the closest to his level of intelligence. This now means it's Donna vs Rose in the battle for #1. 03. River Song (15 votes | 60.00%) 04. Amy Pond (16 votes | 47.06%) 05. Clara Oswald (12 votes | 38.71%) 06. Captain Jack Harkness (14 votes | 50.00%) 07. Martha Jones (10 votes | 50.00%) 08. Rory Williams (12 votes | 44.44%) 09. Mickey Smith (12 votes | 44.44%) Final deadline: Friday evening |

VERY tough for me but going to have to choose Rose as my least favourite. Donna is like no one that's really been a companion yet she showed a lot of different sides.
Rose will always be my childhood ultimate companion though. |

Difficult decision because both of them are brilliant but for very different reasons. Had to go for Donna though as Rose's highs were slightly higher than hers.

Bar the succubus not being dead last (and if Donna wins) that's pretty much exactly how I would rank them.

I'm surprised at how neck and neck things are, actually. I kind of expected a landslide in Rose's favor. But I think I'm going to stick with Donna this time. Both Donna and Rose are middle of the road for me, but I think I slightly prefer Rose to Donna.

Rose was great and her tearjerker moments awesome, but Donna was a matey match with the most heartbreaking goodbye for a companion that is going to be hard to ever top - and she saved the universe too.

Donna's goodbye still brings me to tears. Not so much what she does (which is brilliant) but when Wilf comes out and says he will remember for her when he looks up at the sky. Oh my, I just get caught up in it every time.

DONNA. Such a funny, strong, original companion and THAT goodbye. Rose is the right person to come in second place.

DONNA. Such a funny, strong, original companion and THAT goodbye. Rose is the right person to come in second place. I don't know why I'm saying this because it might create another tie but it appears you may have voted Donna as your least favourite in the poll whereas this post suggests otherwise! |
