Rag'n'Bone Man has won the Critics' Choice Award! That's actually a major disappointment. When you consider just how many male artists have won in recent years (Tom Odell, Sam Smith, James Bay, Jack Garrett) it needed to be a female artist, and yet despite two amazing female nominees, another male artist does it. |

Yeah, he definitely screams one hit wonder... Would have loved either Anne-Marie or Dua to win

Having heard a selection of his material when he supported Tom Odell on tour, I think he's got plenty of potential hits to come! I think he'll at least manage a second hit a la George Ezra, James Bay and Hozier, and a definite big-selling album.

Hi all,
Since the 2017 Brit Award nominations are coming up in a few weeks, I thought it would be interesting to see who we think/want to be nominated for an award in each category. They are as follows:
I am anticipating multiple nominations for: The 1975, Emeli Sande and Little Mix This post has been edited by tomwright123: 4th January 2017, 04:47 PM |

Good idea. I'm going to come back to my post, but some early predictors from me:
Best British Breakthrough is particularly tough to think of I'm finding. The likes of Dua Lipa and Anne-Marie were foolishly nominated for Critics Choice, so I don't think we'll see them nominated anywhere else. Also not sure which obscure artists they'll decide to nominate this year. Neither FKA twigs, nor Laura Marling released anything. |

A few ideas:
Best British Male: Tom Odell, Jack Garratt, ZAYN, Craig David Best British Breakthrough: Jack Garratt, Blossoms Best British Single: it's the top 10 British singles of the year by sales/streams, without artist repeats, so it should these: This Is What You Came For, Dancing On My Own, Fast Car, Say You Won't Let Go, Hymn for the Weekend, PILLOWTALK, Girls Like, Tears, Shout Out to My Ex, All My Friends Mastercard Best British Album: The 1975, Blossoms, Emeli Sandé Best British Video: PILLOWTALK, This Is What You Came For, Shout Out To My Ex Best International Male: The Weeknd, Drake, Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean, Shawn Mendes Best International Female: Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Sia, Rihanna, Christine & the Queens Best International Group: twenty one pilots, Lukas Graham Best International Album: does this actually exist anymore? Best British Female: Emeli Sandé Best British Group: Blossoms, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Bastille, Little Mix, The 1975 Agreed with a lot of your noms there SLlewellyn! I think they'll shove Jack Garratt into the Male and Breakthrough categories because he won Critics' Choice last year, and I think Tom Odell will get a British Male nod for a similar reason (although his album actually did decently). |
