After the fabulous 'Blackout' and 'Doing OK', Wretch 32 took a hiatus (mainly due to the latter's undeserved underperformance) but it appears that he's make with new single '6 Words' that sees him take a different direction. It reminds me of 'Hold On, We're Going Home' but with added drum and bass. I don't know if it'll help him regain success, especially with it being released in November but it's nice to hear that he's still alive although if an album is to be released, I don't know whether it will feature the first two singles now unfortunately.

Aww this is sweet.
'Blackout' was a 10/10 moment, but that not being huge has made me accept that he won't ever really make it BIG again. As long as he keeps delivering little gems like that (and this on first listen) i'll be happy though. |

Really enjoying this. He sounds exactly like Labrinth here though, no?
He certainly has more interesting material than most of the other UK male rap guys. I agree about 'Blackout' being a 10/10 moment btw. |

WOW, Wretch has gone all drum 'n' bass on us? I'm liking this a lot on early listens, proves how crucial a decent production is!
I loved his first song Traktor, the rest of that era was pretty good too. But I hated Blackout, never got the appeal for that whatsoever. Back on board for now though! This post has been edited by Dobbo: Sep 28 2014, 10:21 PM |

No, I didn't think Blackout had a very strong production.

This is a potential game-changer! Can definitely see the Drake comparisons in OP, also Dot Rotten's 'Overload'. Gassed for his album now!

Absolutely loving this now, I could never get into 'Doing OK' but this is such a return to form. He has a pretty solid discography actually - 'Traktor', 'Unorthodox', 'Don't Go' and 'Blackout' are all brilliant too (and 'Hush Little Baby' is also good).

It had better get a release.
With this and 'Blackout' as determiners of the quality, it could well end up as one of the surprise big albums of next year if he keeps it up. I am holding out hope and hype, so don't let me down Wretch. |
