Hopefully he can get a second proper hit!

Posted by: Steve201 9th November 2020, 11:43 PM

Wonder if this is a seasonal track 😳

Didn't 'Panini' go top 5 on Billboard?

Posted by: Bjork 10th November 2020, 03:48 PM

poor Panini, yes went to #5 in the US and #21 in the UK, so hardly a flop

Posted by: Bjork 10th November 2020, 03:52 PM

he also tweeted about a 2nd song called Call Me What Your Name, which sounds much much better
was teasing fans asking if he should also drop this 2nd song, hope he does

This is gonna bomb laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork 13th November 2020, 08:57 AM

insta-A listed by radio 1

Posted by: LMLou 13th November 2020, 09:09 AM

It’s not his best, and I don’t think it’s gonna be as big as even Panini, but I still really like it. I just find him a lot more interesting than most others in the genre

Posted by: Tombo 13th November 2020, 11:01 AM

I’m not majorly impressed, it sounds like a Post Malone song but not as good as Post.

Posted by: shadow2009 13th November 2020, 11:38 AM

I'm underwhelmed as well and I was obsessed with his EP. sad.gif

Posted by: lewistgreen 13th November 2020, 08:12 PM

DUN DUN DUN. I love it

Posted by: LMLou 14th November 2020, 10:13 AM

#25 on US Spotify and #125 on UK Spotify. Seems like a top 100 debut is out of question for UK charts and possibly Billboard too

Posted by: HiyaLuv! 14th November 2020, 10:49 AM

Not really feeling this. And I'm still heavily into Old Town Road, Panini and Rodeo. 6/10.

Posted by: Steve201 21st November 2020, 05:26 PM

Weird festive song - think I like it though

Posted by: LMLou 22nd November 2020, 12:04 PM

It’s done a lot better than I expected! Debuts at #60 in the UK and is still holding up really well on streaming. I can see it sneaking a week too 40 when the Xmas songs die down

Posted by: Steve201 22nd November 2020, 08:16 PM

Could rise this week!

Posted by: Bré 22nd November 2020, 08:50 PM

This is decent but it's definitely not the strong comeback he needed to maintain his success imo. Think it's a bit on the nose for him to have lyrics about his own longevity in his comeback song. Hope he'll have something better coming up next.

Posted by: dannjohn 23rd November 2020, 09:34 AM

its super catchy...

Posted by: Atonement 23rd November 2020, 06:09 PM

This is indeed so catchy I love it. And the music video is fire. Hearing a lyric like ''I might bottom on the low but I top shit'' from a popular artist is just amazing.

Posted by: dannjohn 24th November 2020, 10:50 AM

popular artist is a bit of a stretch... no?

Posted by: Bjork 24th November 2020, 12:01 PM

that was added to Hot Hits yesterday!

the other song he previews (Call me by your name) sounded much better
Holiday is all a bit meh and gimmicky

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2020, 10:04 PM

It is climbing on Spotify now

Posted by: awardinary 27th November 2020, 06:08 PM

Just missing out on the Top 40 this week, reaching a new peak of #42.

Posted by: Dan17F1 28th November 2020, 06:56 PM

I’m glad this is looking like it will be a hit in the end, I was a bit worried when it was first released!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 24th December 2021, 10:53 PM

Radio 1 have had this on their Christmas playlist today... it’s definitely a Christmas tune in my book!

i'm stiill on the fence where he lies... now post-album singles to see where he works out and the album single hardly caused a stir.

He's put himself in the 'shock tactic' category, so will be interesting to see where he goes next.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 30th December 2021, 02:25 PM

Anyone know if this was on Spotify Xmas playlists this year?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 30th December 2021, 04:10 PM

I don't think so

Posted by: Christmasteve201 30th December 2021, 08:23 PM

Pity it’s be a nice change for a Xmas song like that to become a recurring hit!

Posted by: dannjohn 4th January 2022, 09:42 AM

I don't think people connected it as a Xmas song TBH... wasn't it still charting in the USA in March?
