Netflix just released an series of short animated sci-fi tales all based on short stories. Usually these aren't much to write home about, but this one has David Fincher as the Executive Producer and there's quite a bit diversity here between fantasy, horror & comedy, but all have a science fiction undertone, there's even been some comparisons to Black Mirror.

I'm just over halfway through and it's...certainly inconsistent as many anthology shows are, but the highs have actually been very entertaining and thought provoking. It's certainly NSFW, there's a hell of a lot of gratuitous violence, sex, swearing and nudity which can grate, but there's always an interesting concept pinning them down.

I know it doesn’t matter as it’s an anthology show but apparently the running order is different for everyone - I think therems four different lists?

Well that's interesting! Mine started with Sonnie's Edge and apparently quite a lot did, I'd be interested to see what the different ones were.

I've finished this now as you don't have a lot else to do when you're confined in with a cold, I would recommend this actually as it is a very impressive and sometimes very deep collection of short stories each very distinct from the last...my favourites I think were Three Robots, When the Yogurt Took Over, Good Hunting (although this clearly should've been a full length series or something, slightly surprising that this was the only Anime-influenced episode), Helping Hand & Suits. Zima Blue also had beautiful animation and a lot of depth, even if I think it might have worked better as a story originally so I'm a bit undecided on it.

One thing I could've done with less of is the gratuitous nudity and sex scenes, I'm not super prudish or anything, but most of them were REALLY unnecessary and thrown in for the sake of it (hello The Witness).

Mine too and it ends with The Secret War.

I still have 4 more to go but Zima Blue has to be the best one. I'm blown away.

The second season was quite underwhelming, it missed the distinctive hit-and-miss diversity of the first one and a lot of the episodes just sort of ranged from decent to forgettable, one or two aside.

This one's started out much better - loved seeing the three robots again, Bad Travelling was a really well-made epic, Night of the Mini Dead was really fun and The Very Pulse of the Machine looked absolutely stunning and was a real trip, reminded me of Zima Blue., think that one's my favourite so far.
