It could be a second #1 single for Olivia Rodrigo this year, if good 4 u can overtake Tion Wayne & Russ Millions' Body. Expect a big new entry for BTS with their new single Butter, plus releases from Anne-Marie & Niall Horan with Our Song, Galantis/David Guetta/Little Mix with Heartbreak Anthem and Lil Nas X with SUN GOES DOWN
Olivia Rodrigo could pull off the chart double with her debut album SOUR, but she’s up against Twenty One Pilots with their fifth album Scaled And Icy and P!nk's live hits collection All I Know So Far - Setlist. Gary Numan's Intruder is among the new releases along with albums from Waterparks, Lord Huron, Gruff Rhys and Billie Marten

We should see some good album sales this week.
Really looking forward to seeing how the chart will look this week- the first look tomorrow will be interesting! Hoping for little mix and Galantis/ Anne Marie and Niall Horan as high as possible
Really interested to see how Little Mix/Galantis/David Guetta do with Heartbreak Anthem
Hopefully high entries for Heartbreak Anthem and Sun Goes Down!
Olivia Rodrigo going for that chart double, been a while since anyone has done that
I wasn’t expecting Olivia's album to clog up the top 50 on Spotify. Hopefully, some of the tracks fall and I hope that DL doesn’t get a reset
What sort of album figures are we expecting from Olivia ?
I am hoping Gary Numan can get a Top 3 album with his new studio album Intruder but there is a bit of competition this week.
I’m an old fart who thinks the most surprising thing about Olivia is she released a record with a parental advisory warning while she’s still the lead in a Disney tv show.
Standards are slipping, I tells you. [Shakes fist at cloud 😉]
Less than 15 mins to First Look!
I'm finally here this week due to my Internet went last week.
20 Coldplay - Higher Power
19 Years & Years - Starstruck
Kylie
18 Riton & Nightcrawlers feat. Mufasa & Hypeman - Friday
17 ?
16 Majestic & Boney M. - Rasputin
I should imagine Deja Vu, Black Hole (hopefully) and Astronaut In The Ocean are on course for the top 10.
edits
Little Mix were #17
15 Polo G - RAPSTAR
14 Masked Wolf - Astronaut in the Ocean
13 The Kid LAROI - WITHOUT YOU
12 Anne-Marie & Niall Horan - Our Song
LOVING Our Song right now, though this is an odd version they're playing
11 Mimi Webb - Good Without
Omg could Mimi Webb sneak top ten, I hope so!!! Also happy for Anne-Marie, a really good song!
Yess Little Mix Top 10
10 Olivia Rodrigo - brutal
9 Rag'n'Bone Man & P!nk - Anywhere Away from Here
8 Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix - Heartbreak Anthem
A smash I fear.
7 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
Who do you guys predict will be #1 this Friday?
6 Lil Nas X - MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)
Where is the Top 5?
5 Olivia Rodrigo - deja vu
4 Doja Cat feat. SZA - Kiss Me More
3 Russ Millions & Tion Wayne - Body
2 BTS - Butter
1 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u
Olivia is on fire!
Great entry for BTS
Why is the BTS Army less effective in the UK than US?
Did they play the Kylie version of Starstruck?
Bit late on catching up as I was at work, but I’m pleasantly surprised at starstruck climbing all the way to #19 didn’t expect the remix to boost it that much! Great to see Heartbreak Anthem at #8 hope it can keep its top 10 position by Friday. BTS song isn’t sounding too bad after a couple listens feel it could grow on me, not sure if it will hold up and stay top 3 by Friday, we will see.
Maybe BTS might miss the top five this week.
I’m sure Brutal will be higher tomorrow as it will have a fair amount of streaming missing, I can see either being around 6/7 in tomorrows update.
Oh “Brutal” is excellent! Reminds me a bit to Elastica and love the cinematic ending.
Hope by some miracle it stays longer than 1 week in the chart. Or it may get pushed as a single later.
Unfortunately, Russ and Tion will knock BTS out of the top 2

Surprised Olivia is only that far ahead in the albums, thought she would be miles ahead already. Should extend easily but stilll
Surprised Pink is that low, I mean I know it's only a (mostly) live album but thought she'd at least show up higher than Gary Numan, if not Twenty One Pilots. I expect Gary Numan will fall to #4 or #5 anyway.
I didn’t even think Olivia would be ahead in the first mids, thought the other big new entries would be more front loaded and she would overtake with streaming added so I think it’s great she’s already got quite a lead
Was hoping Pink would be Top 3 but a live album is always hard to call, if she stays Top 4 or 5 il be happy, 21 Pilots i was sure would be at least Number 2 and possibly Number 1 so im really surprised they are only Number 3 not that number 3 is bad.
So P!nk could actually chart higher with a live album than her GH album managed, I wasn't expecting that!
Big for Pink, was expecting low top 10
For a live album Pink is doing well and hooefully it can go silver at the least
Are there no sales figures then?
Any idea what the Gary Numan 'Intruder' sales figure is?
I would estimate it at around 20k.
Not too sure about Numan falling back to No-4 or No-5 though. His sales seem to be quite strong. Would just like to have known the figures.
That seems like a bit of an underperformance for twenty one pilots although to be fair this is without a vinyl release at the moment. Pleasantly surprised to see Gary Numan ahead of them at the moment regardless, would love if he can hold onto #2!
Olivia must be pulling in some pretty strong pure sales after all, unless it is just that both Gary and twenty one pilots are severely underperforming. Was never doubting that Olivia would be huge on streams (though she's doing even better than I expected) but her pure sales were a complete question mark.
Looks like all three of My Bloody Valentine's albums will be getting new peaks this week - they've never charted higher than #24 in the album chart before (and "m b v" never charted when it was released due to how it was distributed).
That looks like Numan should be pretty solid for #2 then - already beaten the entire first week sales of his previous album (and by a pretty comfortable margin too, he did 13.4k last time)!
oh very good for Olivia
Twenty One Pilots are really underperforming, their last album did 30K, but kinda expected for not releasing the vinyl this week
Brutal has dropped out and replaced by Traitor, summary incoming, please be patient.
Little Mix

42. James Newman - Embers
69. Dadi Freyer - 10 Years
88. Julia Micheals & Niall Horan - What A Time
Måneskin at #90 also get that top 100 smash *.* really pleased to see a half decent result for some Eurovision songs this year.
17. Anne-Marie & Niall Horan - Our Song
88. Julia Michaels & Niall Horan - What A Time
Sun Goes Down at the dreaded #41!
Hopefully it climbs.
Yeah, decent midweek sales for Gary Numan.
Hoping he can hold on for his second No-2 album in a row.
If BMG had released it when originally planned back in March it would have hit No-1.
St Vincent still top 40! Universal acclaimed Annie did that!
So despite the ACR clear out, Marea (We've Lost Dancing) nowhere near the 40. Noizu, although not quite as good, set for 3rd week top 40 though.
Amazing for Olivia!!
Great sales for Gary Numan, I mean he hasn’t got any radio support as far as I’m aware of!
Those top 5 album sales are great, hopefully My Bloody Valentine can make it to 10k and have all the Top 5 in double figures, im till a bit shocked at how 21 pilots are doing, was really expecting more for them. Im hoping Pink can do another 5k for the week.
Haven’t seen anywhere else except 6 Music!
Some bonus info - these are a select few Sunday sales figures for the album chart
5.0k Olivia
1.6k P!nk
1.2k twenty one pilots
1.2k Rag'n'Bone Man
1.1k J. Cole
600 Gary Numan
Pretty disappointing to see ‘our song’ fall from #12 to #17 in just one day
Hopefully it can stabilise over the week and at least get a top 20 debut.
Anyone know why multiple Marvin Gaye albums have popped up in the midweeks?
Good start for the Eurovision songs. Based on Spotify, looks like we might actually have a few that stay in the top 75-100.
nice that the Pink release is pushing the singles up, All I Know So Far into the top 40 and
Cover me in Sunshine just outside at #48...
The OCC have just put https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/eurovision-winners-maneskin-and-uk-entry-james-newman-on-course-for-official-singles-chart-top-40__33224/ up revealing the positions of the Eurovision entries in today's update! It says James Newman is currently at #36 and Måneskin are #37!!
They also mention Daði Freyr at #49, Barbara Pravi #65, Blind Channel #68, Go_A #80, Elena Tsagrinou #92 and TIX is #99!
Really hope James can hold a Top 40 place
Keeping everything crossed for Måneskin! They're holding up well on iTunes and Apple, guess we'll have to see what the Spotify numbers are like today
El Diablo to remain top 100 please.
It would be nice to see Embers go top 40 but I doubt it will manage it tbh.
Hoping that James Newman and Måneskin can both stay in the top 40 (not a huge fan of 'Embers' but it would be good to see a UK Eurovision song actually making the top 40 for the first time in years). Yass at Go_A being in the top 100 now as well *.*
Definitely feels like this year’s contest has made the most cultural impact since 2014 when Conchita won and four entries made the top 40. Nice to see a potentially positive streaming future for the contest, until Dadi went viral it looked like there’d never be a sizeable hit from the contest again.
Maneskin please stay top 40!!
Id be happy to see Maneskin stay top 40 but id say it will be close.
^depends on how Måneskin do on Spotify for the rest of the week
It's hard to tell at this point how the Eurovision entries will stabilise or fall away.
if Maneskin stabilise would they have the first Italian language top 40 hit this millennium? or indeed ever since Volare?
without counting We No Speak Americano as Italian, that is.
When was the last time a foreign language Eurovision song made the top 40? Looking sewn up now for Måneskin after an impressive hold on Spotify today. The two recent ones ‘Think About Things’ and ‘Arcade’ are both English and the whole invasion in 2014 comprised of English language songs too. Really can’t remember!
Good question - I guess 'Dancing Lasha Tumbai' in 2007 was mostly not in English but then in fairness it didn't really have substantial lyrics in any language of course the only other fully non-English language winners this side of the millennium are 'Molitva' (which missed the UK top 100) and 'Amar Pelos Dois' (which scraped in at #97), and it's not particularly common for non winning songs to make the top 40 so there must be very few!
(have just realised that I guess 'Dancing Lasha Tumbai' can also be counted at least partly as a Ukrainian language song that of course did a little better in the charts than 'SHUM' lol - but the Ukrainian section of it is fairly minimal, likewise there were also some Ukrainian lyrics in Ruslana's 'Wild Dances' which charted at #47 in the UK)
I reckon these are the only foreign-language Eurovision hits of the last 30 years - and they were often translated to English before then!
Dancing Lasha Tumbai #23
Wild Dances #47
Allez Olla Olé #81
Moustache #89
Nocturne #90
Amar Pelos Dois #97
Dancing In The Rain #102
Molitva #112
La Voix #138
Party For Everybody #159
If https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/eurovisions-highest-charting-songs-in-the-uk__26224/ is right (and according to some of the comments it looks like it might be missing a few), the last one to go top 40 in presumably non-translated form might be as far back as 1978 with Israel's winning entry A-Ba-Ni-Bi by Izhar Cohen & The Alphabeta which is in Hebrew.
(Edit: turns out even that had an English version )
Thanks guys for the responses! That is fascinating
Assuming the version of Dana International's 'Diva' that got released in the UK was the English version? (It's listed as being in Hebrew on Wikipedia's list of Eurovision winners but there is an English version of it too).
Ah, I thought you were just not counting it because it had pretty minimal lyrics
So no Tuesday sale information at all I guess?

A big update for Gary Numan after only adding 600 units on Monday (guessing it's some slightly delayed reporting from some platform or another). Hope that he'll be able to hit 20k.
I hope Tom Zanetti can overtake Dua Lipa and re-peak and also for Olivia to extend her lead from Russ & Tion
who knew Gary Numan had so many fans still in 2021? already done enough to have been #1 in 10 weeks of this year so far.
G'won Gary Numan *.* I really like what I've heard from the album, especially the title track! Great for Olivia too of course.
Hoping Heartbreak Anthem makes a Top 10 debut!
I've heard it once and I was surprised at how much I wasn't hating it tbh. It's pretty decent. But Gary still has that fanbase that will buy every copy of every version at least once (literally what someone did on Friday on my last day at work for the week - and they bought the 2 copies of his picture disc vinyl that we had)
I wonder how much the sales of both Olivia and especially Twenty One Pilots (who seem to be one of the constant sellers on vinyl for us) would have been boosted by a vinyl release? I could definitely see TOP much closer to 20k rn tbh and above Gary. A shame
Yeh the title track got to my PC top 20 which I never thought I would see in 2021 but it’s really great so class to see him hitting 20k by Friday which would be an amazing score. Also Olivia looking on for 40k which is stunning and more importantly streaming will be high for her over the summer so could be a decent seller by the end of year.
Also at the top 4 looking likely to be breaking 10k!!
Numan's sales figures are excellent.
He must be one of the few artists who have increased sales of studio albums over the past 10 years.
I guess the trend is going in the opposite direction.
Gary does have a hard-core following but as a fan myself I think a lot of the credit for the new interest in him and his music must go to his producer Ade Fenton. He is the one who has made his music relevant again.
How did Pink only sell... 100(?) copies yesterday
8 new entries in the top 40 is rare assuming they all stay here. Never heard of Dream but it’s pretty good. Nice to get more indie-ish music in the top 40.
Wondering if it's possible 'SOUR' could finally end the streak of albums only spending one week at #1 - there doesn't appear to be any particularly huge new releases next week (guessing easy life are likely to be the highest new entry but Olivia's streaming numbers are showing no sign of slowing down yet, can easily see her second week numbers being more than enough to beat them).
I can see Easy Life reaching 20k next week with the amount of bundles they have + if they push for #1.
poor Easy Life, they changed their release schedule to avoid Wolf Alice and now they're probably gonna be blocked by Olivia
she's not slowing down at all, so can see her easily doing at least 30K next week
HMV are selling Sour at £5.99!
Never known a week one release to be so cheap.
Is this allowed in he chart rules?
^Im sure someone can explain it better but it's not the seller's price that matters but the retailer's price
they can put it on sale at 0.99 if they want
How is it possible to lose streaming sales?
must be an error?
We've lost Pink to streaming 💔
Monday mids had her as the 6th most streamed album of the week so far, but Tuesday has her down as only being 90th.
I knew Pinks sales would slow down but didnt expect them to almost completely stop so quickly,, based on this she will drop out of the top 100 next week
Maybe they mistakenly duplicated streams between the live album and Greatest Hits So Far, where songs appear on both? In which case I thought they would have stayed with the live album as it's the higher seller this week, but I can never remember the rules about streams going to different albums by the same artist.
yes, it counts towards the GH with more pure sales
but I think there is also a rule about live versions not being combined?
in this case, the new album is not a GH but a live album, so not sure. I mean, if you stream the original So What, it shouldn't count towards the new live album... cos the new album doesn't have a studio version...
It's a strange situation that I hope they rectify for the live album or otherwise its sales will completely plummet if the allocations from streaming all go towards the original greatest hits.
My guess is they were mistakenly treating it as a Greatest Hits in the early updates (in which case don't expect them to reverse this change - looks like she should still top 10k for the week anyway).
It does look like Greatest Hits So Far has been given a lot of extra streams this week, presumably from the live versions, as it's been #39 in the mids compared to #67-71 for the last couple of weeks.
What a mess!

Those sales for good 4 you
12 place rise for Måneskin since yesterday yaaaay cool to see James hanging in there too.
I can’t see Embers staying top 40 by Friday tbh, it dropped out the Spotify top 200 today, only thing it’s still doing well on is iTunes.
oh wow Måneskin up to #25
how far is traitor from #6 ?
Amazing for Maneskin, so happy !
Also great to see that, aside from James Newman, all the Eurovision songs from yesterday's update have climbed in today's one! Hopefully a good sign that some of them might stay top 100.
maneskin smashing
is Dadi Freyr close to the top 40?
Måneskin look safe for top 40.
That leap for Maneskin! would love to see this break the top 20 by Friday.
No surprise for Embers. Considering the 2019 uk entry that also came last never charted, a top 75 hit is a success for James.
Would love to see ‘Embers’ stay in the top 40. Also didn’t realise that ‘Starstruck’ had crept into the top 30 in recent weeks. Great sales all round in the albums Gary Numan is really exceeding my expectation so much.
Oh and hope Pink stays in the top 40 to register another hit solo!
Olivia for 45K plus this week, no one saw that coming. 5 days in a row above 1M single, 3 top 10 hits. Just... WOW.
'ZITTI E BUONI' well on track to be the highest charting Eurovision song since 'Heroes' in 2015 (the power of artists with names starting with Mån), fingers crossed for top 20!
Looks like James will be missing the top 40 but still likely to be the highest charting UK entry since Molly in 2014 (currently held by SuRie who got to #50).
Where are Go_A today if I may enquire? x
*.* coming for that James Masterton / Polyhex acknowledgement x
Not sure if you have sales but is there any chance Mimi could go Top 10?
Olivia will probably get 45 - 50k with her album? Which is pretty amazing given that pretty much nobody had heard of her 6 months ago.
Come on DK, outpeak YWM
Black Midi's album has been released early today, instead of Friday. Not sure which week the physicals will be counted towards though!
It’s a shame that starstruck has done well on everything apart from streaming, it’s best chance is probably when the physical is out but not confident it will ever manage to go top 25!
Niall horan and anne marie will be touch and go to stay top 20.
Måneskin and Go_A climbing to the top we love to see it
His previous album spent two weeks in top 40 though, most of the niche indie acts can only dream these days.
From what I can see, there are just two vinyl variants: gold & picture disc vinyl. No reason for most people to by more than one!
there are at least 5 different vinyls that I'm aware and I'm not even a fan
there's a standard Black, a Red on UK Indie stores, a Silver on Amazon UK, a Gold on his site
and there is also a Picture Disc vinyl
more likely 3
and it's clearly not all pre-orders and not even that front loaded as he already moved 4K since Monday
You guys should check out the latest Chart Music podcast for a very entertaining discussion of Gary Numan (amongst others) circa 1986
Its great seeing some decent album sales, im not a big Olivia Rodrigo fan myself but its good to see an album selling well and for the sake of sakes etc i hope she can do platinum by the end of the year. Fair play to the Gary Numan fans out in full support of the new album buying all formats going.
It is unlikely we'll get today's mids considering the time?
probably not but usually we do get mids on a Thursday, if we do, im hoping Pink is clearly over 10k with her live album.
