Any last minute predictions or hype?! Will probs use this as the main Awards thread! I'll be seeing the results literally after the ceremony is finished as I'm getting up rly early to revise for mocks tomorrow!
Really starting to feel like we have a big shocker coming up and Ryan wins Best Actor in Musical/Comedy. And that's Ryan as in the one in the Superhero movie and not the Oscar favourite. (Also think Amy could beat Natalie, Kubo takes animation & Can't Stop The Feeling takes song!, watch how none of these happen! ) |

Kubo is the one I'm thinking might actually snatch the win too! I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen tbh.

Aaron Taylor Johnson supposedly won?!! Did not see that coming at all Same really, but great for him! Fantastic movie and he gave a standout performance. Yay at Zootopia getting animation! And I guess Isabelle is definitely coming for an Oscar nom now after winning over Natalie here? Even though apparently Elle hasn't made the shortlist to be up for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars? Shame "City of Stars" had to go and win over a couple of superior songs though. |

Yep so LLL utterly swept winning all 7 awards! Most amount of GG wins ever, besting the previous record of 6 held by a few different films!
Moonlight picked up Drama Pic, Casey won Actor, Elle won Foreign Language & Isabelle won Drama! I had a feeling Natalie wasn't going to win! |

Some great winners there! Glad Nocturnal Animals picked up an award especially, the acting was phenomenal and Aaron Taylor-Johnson was probably my favourite in the movie, he was terrifying. I am shocked Mahershala Ali didn't win though but I heard the NA team sent a few nice gifts the HFPA so that could be why
Starting to think as the hype for Natalie Portman seems to be fading and La La Land couldn't be doing better at the moment than Emma Stone may actually take home the best actress win come the Oscars. |

Is that true about the gift thing? I really hope not. I hate it when awards are practically bought! I'm not saying it's true, but Beyonce is pretty infamous for doing so! I really hope it's just hearsay though.
But yeah, I can't see anyone but Emma winning the Academy award. In fact, I'm surprised so many people think Natalie Portman was a strong contender |

So 'Hacksaw Ridge' won 'Best Drama'? I thought it'd be MBTS or Moonlight, with an outside chance of HR winning. I think with the dramas being quite similar this year, I am convinced now more than ever before that LLL (or HR) will take the prize home at the Oscars.

(also moonlight did win best drama!) This post has been edited by Josh.: Jan 9 2017, 02:15 PM |
