Oh go on then.
disclaimers: this is coming from the guy who said there was no possible way Delta Heavy could win last contest, and also this is what I'm initially thinking on first impressions and trying to grasp initial hype. And it's odds to WIN. Many of those lower down in the odds could still do well but well, they won't be the winners. 3/1 Deandria // Allie X 'Sanctuary' 6/1 Hendinia // Against The Current 'Outsiders' 7/1 FSR Rontvia // Pegboard Nerds 'Emoji' 8/1 Singerpurear // Chris Lee 'Real Love' 9/1 N DNTN // Kazaky 'Milk Choc' 9/1 #00274E // Tkay Maidza 'Ghost' 10/1 Republic of Adonia // Dumblonde 'Dreamsicle' 12/1 Zaminton // Rykka 'Movies' 13/1 Cadelicia // Kinetic 'Living The Illusion' 13/1 Danaelanda // TheFatRat feat. Eh?
@ both the leader and my placing. 'Sanctuary' definitely doesn't sound any more of a winner than 'Tumor' to me, and if that could only come 7th, I'd be surprised if this won. It's definitely not as good though I do really like it as I do the whole EP! And I'd be amazed if I came any closer than Paralyzed did as well. Having said that I haven't heard the rest so who knows?! Re-assuring anyway! |

They are the two that sounded to have the widest appeal after my first runthrough. Thing is, that's just from my perspective, I may have just set into motion a hype train if people base their competing odds off mine so please disagree with me all you want!
I mean, they SHOULD be doing about as well as Tumor and Paralyzed did (or in the latter's case, not as well ) but I can see Sanctuary (nearly the same song as Tumor if I'm quite honest) doing it without any strong challengers to block it, while Outsiders is sure to reach a few more people than Paralyzed did as it's a bit lighter and softer in its scope. Other potential challengers may emerge though, it's just the start. |

Oh boo you Iz, although I think you're way off on some of the top ten so i'm cool Also Persephonia and Ultraviolenceland better not bomb, some of my favourite enrties from them.

I'll just be happy if I get that eighth qualifier, but Yehesi being slated to pretty much come last in the semis does not go for me.

Sanctuary is amazing and would be the best winner in years, but it CANNOT WIN (because I didn't send it)

Great opening odds! I haven't listened yet and I guess it's unlikely I'll be able to until Monday, but i've heard the first half of Semi 1 and there are already some big tunes. This post has been edited by gooddelta: 22nd January 2016, 09:13 AM |

omg My first time being at the top of someone's odds. I knew it sounded like a BJSC banger and I love it. I don't like that I'm recycling, but I wasn't aware she had been entered before until days after I had decided I really really wanted to send it. I thought I checked straight away, but apparently not lol

Not feeling those odds for Threshold, but then I do agree that it definitely isn't a winner, so

trying to do odds (TRYING), at this point i'd be very confident in the chances of a hendinia win or at LEAST heavily contending, it sounds EXACTLY like the kind of song that would appeal to almost everyone.

I don't think those at the bottom will finish near the bottom. That's not the point of the odds at all. For some of them, maybe, but the ones at the bottom are specifically the ones with the least chance of winning. Different things. Like I don't actually think Yehesi is definitely coming last in the semi, I just think that the sun is more likely to spontaneously freeze over than it come first at the end of this contest, hence I'm willing to offer incredibly juicy odds to tempt people into wasting their money.
If say, What or Persephonia make it through the semis I'd expect them to do impressively in the final but I still wouldn't put them in with a shot at the top spot because (unfortunately) it's incredibly unlikely that they would get appeal that wide. For Triangledonia, I just don't see it doing better than the competing dance entries like Danaelanda or Cor Lupus, doesn't mean it can't do okay. |
