Left the cinema feeling like I'd been on such an emotional journey. Julianne absolutely deserved her Oscar win without a shadow of a doubt, she plays it incredibly. Very moving and heartbreaking, you feel for Alice and her family so much, there are multiple scenes that are almost tearful.

I'd have liked to have seen this nominated in the Best Picture category too tbh because it's better than all of them aside from maybe Boyhood.

It's a real shame, I feel as though female driven films were really sidelined in the main catagories. This and Wild were much better than most of those nominated for best picture.

Co-director Richard Glatzer has sadly passed away at the age of 63 after a 4 year battle with ALS

Went to see this yesterday, incredible portrayal from Julianne, definitely easy to see why she nabbed that Oscar. In fact, all the main actors were really likeable. Heart-wrenching story with an ending that felt just right, would recommend but bring the tissues!

This film is all about Julianne Moore's performance, she is mind blowing! The monologue she gives had me in tears, such a powerful film!

What an amazing and excellent film. Julliane Moore is absolutely fantastic and I also loved Kristen Stewart- I find her so underrated This was interesting and excellently acted. The music was beautiful and it was just such an amazing film. My only little issue for me was the ending as it felt it just ended a bit too suddenly

I saw this movie last night on a first date.

Maybe not a good choice for a first date but he really wanted to go see it and I love dramas.

Maybe not a good choice because I'm watching it happen at the moment in my direct environment.

The scene where her husband and she were eating ice cream got to me the most. I ended up crying I also liked the ending song, it was a nice fit.

But why did they cast Kristen Stewart for God's sake. The, albeit good,last scene fell flat because of her.

Nevertheless it was a good movie (and a great evening)

"Still Alice" was released in my country over two months ago. It is one of the movies that I expected to see for a long time because Julianne Moore literally swept all the awards of "Best Actress" this year! Moreover, there were many who thought that Julianne Moore has wronged several times in the past by the various committees that awarded prizes and it was a matter of time before her vindication. She was the undisputed favorite in the Oscar since she won rave reviews for her interpretation and everyone had only good things to say! "Still Alice" is based on the novel by the neurologist Lisa Genova, which was one of the biggest best sellers of 2007!
Dr. Alice Howard, who is professor of linguistics at Columbia University, learns that she has Alzheimer's and is already in the early stages of the Alzheimer’s disease. Unfortunately for her and her family, things cannot change and they will face the tragic fact. Lisa Genova wrote a very touching story, describing representational all the stages of Alzheimer's disease. Julianne Moore was amazing in her role although I doubted her performance in the first half hour. However, watching the entire film, and after thinking about the film, I realized that none of her other fellow actresses deserved the golden statuette! Her look was the greatest strength which convinces perfectly that Alice is suffering from this disease. I think her interpretation touched many viewers, as with me and my friends. In addition, the secondary roles were just as good, in contrast with Kristen Stewart who gave her best, performing one of the two daughters of the protagonist. Although my friends did not see with good eyes the specific interpretation, I had the exact opposite view of them. She fits perfectly into the role and she was the best choice for this character, in my opinion. Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland not only took over the direction of "Still Alice" but also they wrote the script. They did a very good job, without adding a lot of melodrama and clichés that these films usually have. Although it is a social film that creates a heavy atmosphere because of its content, it is presented in such a manner that in no way is it tiring for the viewer. For this result, it played an important role, and of course, the fact that the two directors chose some external shots which were salvation for the viewers’ eyes in cinema.
"Still Alice" is definitely one of the best movies I saw in the last six months! It deals with a sensitive issue in a targeted way and it is worth seen by everyone. Already, it has been loved by many people and it has received a high score in IMDB (7,5). Personally, I would give a better score because the story of Alice does not represent a heroine of a successful literary book but all those who have the same symptoms with her. And we are talking about a very large number of people since the number of people that suffer from Alzheimer is 35 million people worldwide!
