    My Review
Now That’s What I Call Music! 109 otherwise known as Now 109 was the Summer compilation for 2021, featuring 48 tracks, mostly hits, and three UK #1 singles. This volume introduced us to such artists as Silk Sonic, Mimi Webb, A1 x J1, Central Cee, ArrDee and Mεneskin.

For a rarity, there are no real glaring omissions from this volume, but perhaps the likes of Dave, Lorde, AJ Tracey and Willow who have all appeared previously could have improved it.

So far it is the only volume to feature Griff, Majestic, Noizu, Polo G, Masked Wolf, Russ Millions and Royal Blood as at the time of this review.

Artwork Rating: 7/10 Very Good
An original theme concept was used once again to depict a fiarground. The same theme was used for Now 60 albeit as a different design. This new one was packed full or rides, a ferris wheel, a balloon stand, even a robotic dinosaur character! It creates a carnival atmosphere akin to the sunny weather outdoors. A very good cover indeed.

Disc 1 Favourite: Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix – Heartbreak Anthem
I've gone with this much hyped at the time release by Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix. I recall being so excited about the release from the snippets heard that I eagerly anticipated the release seeking to find as many links to the audio as possible before it came out officially. I was not disappointed by the result.

Disc 2 Favourite: Tom Grennan – Little Bit Of Love
At a push I decided to choose this song from Tom Grennan which seemed to kickstart his success thereafter. He featured three times on this volume, once solo, once with Calvin Harris and another with Ella Henderson. The second disc does have a lot of filler songs on there but many seemed to find some sort of chart peak.

Disc 3 Tracklist:
(A concept of what a third disc might look like if other hits from the era were used)

1. BTS – Butter 2:44 {3}
2. Justin Bieber – Hold On 2:51 {10}
3. Dua Lipa – Love Again 4:18 {51}
4. Lorde – Solar Power 3:13 {17}
5. Billie Eilish – Lost Cause 3:32 {14}
6. Lana Del Rey – White Dress 5:34 {51}
7. Dave – Titanium 2:08 {9}
8. Tion Wayne – Wow 2:54 {21}
9. AJ Tracey – Little More Love 2:40 {21}
10. Stay Flee Get Lizzy feat. Fredo & Central Cee – Meant To Be 3:10 {17}
11. Bella Poarch – Build A Bitch 2:03 {30}
12. Willow feat. Travis Barker – T R A N S P A R E N T S O U L 2:48 {28}
13. Fred again.. & The Blessed Madonna – Marea (We've Lost Dancing) 4:45 {36}
14. PS1 feat. Alex Hosking – Life Goes On 2:49 {41}
15. Bad Boy Chiller Crew – Don't You Worry About Me 3:40 {31}
16. RAYE – Call On Me 3:15 {64}
17. Demi Lovato feat. Ariana Grande – Met Him Last Night 3:25 {44}
18. Normani feat. Cardi B – Wild Love 3:29 {49}
19. Maroon 5 feat. Megan Thee Stallion – Beautiful Mistakes 3:47 {50}
20. Lil Nas X – SUN GOES DOWN 2:48 {42}
21. Wes Nelson feat. Yxng Bane – Nice To Meet Ya 3:02 {33}
22. Roddy Ricch – Late At Night 2:55 {40}
23. twenty one pilots – Shy Away 2:55 {56}
24. James Newman – Embers 2:56 {47}
----------
Total time: 1:17:41

Overall Rating: 5/10 Poor
I don't think this is in any way a reflection of the selection of the compilation but perhaps just the overall quality just feels very flat, there doesn't seem to be any major songs that I would return to out of choice, a few perhaps, but not that many. I don't think it will go down as one of the more popular releases in recent years. I can't really fault the omissions either, and I don't think they would have lifted my score either. I do understand it was in the middle of a global pandemic, so that point is taken into consideration.

My Best 5 (as of June 2023)
1. Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix – Heartbreak Anthem
2. Joel Corry x RAYE x David Guetta – BED
3. Noizu – Summer 91 (Looking Back)
4. Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan – By Your Side
5. Lil Nas X – MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)

My Worst 5 (as of June 2023)
1. Russ Millions x Tion Wayne – Body
2. Central Cee – Commitment Issues
3. Polo G – RAPSTAR
4. Celeste – Tonight Tonight
5. Jack Savoretti & Nile Rodgers – Who's Hurting Who

I'm well acquainted with this volume as I was at the height of my Mεneskin fixation and was obsessed with the fact that they made it to a U.K. Now album *.* naturally 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' is my disc 2 favourite and I plumped for 'Save Your Tears (Remix)' on disc 1, which made #1 in my personal chart before the Ari remix even existed, that just enhanced it even further for me <3 unlucky for Lil Nas X though as I love that too. SYT is my favourite on this volume overall although if 'ZITTI E BUONI' had made the cut instead of IWBYS then that would've toppled it.

I quite like this Disc 1 but not a vintage Disc 2 on the whole
