It's difficult to tell who is the top of the list, as most of the early stuff doesn't exist any more. I imagine the top 5 would include Quo, Cliff Richard, Shakin' Stevens and Elton John though..............

Rachel Stevens always seemed to be on it every single week. She must have about 50,000 appearances ( all mimed naturally). sleep_1.gif lame.gif sick2.gif

Robbie seems to have been on a lot more often than I thought. thumbup.gif

Yes well Rob is also one of the few acts that always sings live. The only song he mimed of his own was freedom and no one cares about that song anyway

Even his Take That stuff is live (in those days everyone who appeared on TOTP had to sing live).

He has also presented the show as well.

TOTP2 broadcast a Robbie special in 1999, in which he interviewed himself............. ohmy.gif

TOTP2 - 30-8-2000: Presenter: Robbie Williams.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS – Let Me Entertain You (TOTP 8-2000)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS – Let Love Be Your Energy (TOTP 8-2000)
MADNESS – Baggy Trousers (TOTP 2-10-80)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS – No Regrets (TOTP 8-2000)
TIGHT FIT – The Lion Sleeps Tonight (TOTP 28-1-82)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS – The Road To Mandalay (TOTP 8-2000)
THE WHO – Won’t Get Fooled Again (TOTP 15-7-71)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS – Angels (TOTP 8-2000)
TAKE THAT – Everything Changes (TOTP 14-4-94)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS & KYLIE MINOGUE – Kids (TOTP 8-2000)
ROBBIE WILLIAMS – Rock D.J. (and credits) (TOTP 8-2000)

There is also a performance of "Suspicious Minds" that was shown on the 2-5-2001 edition of TOTP2.

I remember watching TOTP in the 70s and 80s when absolutely everything was mimed. But I thought a decision was made sometime in the 1990s that everyone had to sing live. unsure.gif
That 'Live' decision seemed to last about 2 weeks and then most went back to miming again. I wonder why TOTP agreed to that? Was it because they couldn't find enough acts willing to go on to the show and actually sing? mad.gif

Was the TOTP2 Rob special broadcasted in 1999 or 2000? I'm confused, as the one I remember was in 2000.
