Riser has sent ‘Zen’ by Eves, which also sits on 8 points. “It Gets Better” - or does it? Let’s see how he (can’t remember your real name, sorry!) has voted:
07/29 QUOTE 20 points • Crabby Appleton - ‘Go Back’ 15 points • Emilie Nicolas - ‘Grown Up’ 12 points • Thief - ‘Closer’ 10 points • Momofoko - ‘We Know’ 08 points • Talos - ‘Tethered Bones’ 07 points • Nils Noa - ‘Fade Away (feat. Vinni)’ 06 points • Cape Lion - ‘Called You Mine’ 05 points • Fitzroy North - ‘Be Mine’ 04 points • Wild Swim - ‘Echo’ 03 points • Lo-Fang - ‘When We’re Fire’ 02 points • Down Like Silver - ‘Light That Match’ 01 point • Azure Blue - ‘Time Is On Our Side’
Max points go to Crabby Appleton (yaaaaassss) which sees it sitting nicely in the top ten. Emillie Nicolas gets a bit of a boost, but all the focus is on Dry The River, which currently sits on a poor 0. But will Chris’ votes change that? |

And all this talk of people entering BJSC rejects makes me long for the days when this competition actually had an identity of it's own. i really think we should/we are going to discuss creating a mandate for the contest because its suffering from a lack of identity atm. really want to make it more of a challenge and get ppl taking more risks. |

I don't see what the answer is though apart from making it a forum specific contest. Which I don't necessarily agree with.

152Chris (or Chris 152 - never really sure) has sent ‘In My Dreams We’re Almost Touching’ by Ricky Eat Acid. Now we get into the hipster extremist votes… Are the tides about to turn?
08/29 QUOTE 20 Mssingno 'Xe2' 15 Emilie Nicolas 'Grown Up' 12 Wild Swim 'Echo' 10 Toys 'Hey Boy' 08 Fitzroy North 'Be Mine' 07 Talos 'Tethered Bones' 06 SLK 'Be' 05 Homework 'The Way I See It' 04 Eternal Death 'Head' 03 Ariana & The Rose 'In Your Bed' 02 Yumi and the Weather 'All We Can' 01 James Ruskin ‘Slit'
Mssingno makes itself comfortable in 2nd but Emilie isn’t too far behind. Dry The River R.I.P. Mart!n is up next! |

It's probably down to the two contests coming together over the years, when UP was first started it was very much an alternative to BJSC. In the first contest only a handful (me, Ben, Mikey, Casey, Tyron, Harve) of the 26 entrants were regular participants in BJSC. Now there are probably about the same amount of people who've entered this who aren't BJSC regulars.

Mart!n has sent the wonderful 'Town Of Strangers' by BOKKA, which is desperately trying to stay away from the dirty abyss.
09/29 QUOTE 20 Eves / Zen 15 Homework feat. Bea Anubis / The Way I See It 12 Azure Blue / Time Is On Your Side 10 Cape Lion / Called You Mine 8 Yumi & The Weather / All We Can 7 Made In Heights / Atlantis 6 Ariana & The Rose / In Your Bed 5 Thief / Closer 4 The Casket Girls / Chemical Dizzy 3 Lo Fang / When We're Fine 2 World's End Press / Dag Me Home 1 Momofoko / We know
No major changes at the top but a hefty shakeup throughout the rest of the scoreboard! West is next! |

Marble Sounds sounded just a little out of place, but it was a lovely little song. I like to stand out! The ironic thing is that it was one of the most indie (well mournful indie-ballad) songs there! In CHC Unknown Pleasures, or the first 5 BJ editions it would have been fairly par for the course, but in this new-fangled Unknown Dance/Electronic Pleasures, I can see how it sticks out Didn't expect gooddelta to have sent Marble Sounds, but a good choice nonetheless. It was top three in my chart last month, although I wasn't posting it on here at the time so I guess everybody missed it I found it to be a really affecting and lovely song, but I can see why it wouldn't appeal to some. |

West has sent the gorgeous 'Drag Me Home' by World's End Press, which started very strong but seems to be slipping a bit. Eeeek!
10/29 QUOTE +20 Cape Lion - Called You Mine +15 Thief - Closer +12 Gardens & Villa - Thunder Glove +10 Azure Blue - Time Is On Our Side +08 Lo-Fang - When We're Fire +07 Momofoko - We Know +06 Eves - Zen +05 Homework - The Way I See It feat. Bea Anubis +04 Down Like Silver- Light That Match +03 Ariana & The Rose - In Your Bed (Oliver Nelson Remix) +02 SLK - Be +01 Yumi And The Weather - All We Can
Double EEEEK! Azure takes the lead! Is this the end of Ricky Eat Acid? Oliver is next - will he provide even more excitement? (The answer is YES) |
