Its all become awful at arenas now, if you buy seated tickets everyone is standing but you can't stand for so long without sitting which means you can't see!

I have honestly never been to a pop concert where the audience were not standing throughout and I've been going to them since I was about 9 years old? It's no new thing?

They come on a little after 8:45pm! I was there at 8pm after eating somewhere... missed the support but it's only a DJ!

Cheryl and Nadine having such a strong connection on stage is wonderful to behold! wub.gif

Can't remember if it was posted already but Nadine getting the opening verse of Jump wrong and being like "I'm singing the. wrong. words." to the tune was such a rotf.gif moment, with Cheryl reminding her what the next line was. Then the night afterwards, Cheryl reminded Nadine what the opening line was before the verse began! laugh.gif

Thanks Jay! We’re going with a big group so I’m not fussed about a support act either, as we’d rather be catching up. We will aim for around then. X

My first show of the tour was Sheffield on Tuesday, was a bit too tired yesterday from travelling home to type up a review and quite frankly I needed time to digest the whole experience and replay it over in my head, but wow, I had the best time ever wub.gif

I left the arena feeling really emotional. I didn't forget for a second just how long I'd been waiting for that night. Girls Aloud were my first ever concert - the What Will the Neighbours Say? Tour in 2005 - and until Tuesday night, it was the only time I'd seen them. I've always regretted not going to the Ten Tour, I wasn't a concert-goer back then like I am now so I didn't really think much about going, and I quickly regretted that when they split, and even more so after Sarah's passing. I'm so lucky I get to say I saw Sarah in action on stage, where she belonged, but I hate that I don't have so many memories of it. Nevertheless, she and the girls were a major moment in my life - just one of many! Therefore, on Tuesday night, I had many "pinch me" moments. I was counting down the hours. I splashed out on merch. I enjoyed every moment of being in the arena, because I never thought I'd get the chance to see Girls Aloud live again, and experience a catalogue of songs in a concert setting that have had a monumental impact on my life, at so many different junctures. I just felt so grateful and appreciative that an opportunity like that had come around.

The show didn't let me down, either. The setlist was bulletproof, smash after smash after smash, and not a single performance let me down. Untouchable was a surprising opener in the best way - it set the tone from the start, and solidified that Sarah was a part of the show too. The staging on the plinths was gorgeous! All of the bops delivered, Something New live was a major moment as it's my favourite of theirs, and the album tracks really delivered in a live setting too, even though the audience members around me didn't seem to know them (their loss x).The bikes for Wake Me Up looked immense, and I loved how they had the red dresses for Sexy! No No No... as well as other nods to various music videos! I think one of the biggest highlights was Long Hot Summer, it feels like this is the closure it needed on being a black sheep in their discography, finally getting its well-earned flowers following a general reassessment from fans. The audience loved it! All the big hitters obviously went down well too, especially the final run of Jump, Call the Shots and Something Kinda Ooooh (finally hearing Kimberley absolutely milking her moment in the campest way live *.*)

The nods to Sarah throughout were beautiful. Nicola and Kimberley did a great job taking on her solos, particularly Nicola really going for it on The Show! I also love that they kept a few vital Sarah moments in the set, such as her Something New verse and how the girls stopped dancing to listen to her sing for that moment, and the pause they took during The Promise to really emphasise Sarah's "here I am, walking primrose" verse. Sarah's version of I'll Stand By You was beautiful too, but the moment that really got me was Whole Lotta History. I've always found it to be one of the best songs in their discography, and certainly their best ballad, but the focus they gave Sarah's verse, and how it kept playing as the song ended, with a montage of Sarah clips on screen... I was in floods. Sarah is so very missed, but I love that she still played such a big part in the show, just as she deserves to.

The one and only note I had is that I would've liked The Loving Kind to be a part of the set, but otherwise, it was just what I wanted. The girls had a great camaraderie, the staging was good, the visuals were brilliant, and I'm so happy I got to experience a hits tour from the girls with all of their classics. It was the best night, and I'm so grateful that I get to do it another couple of times!!

also: Nicola liked my Instagram post and shared it to her story cheeseblock.png

So pleased that you had such an incredible time Joseph, and Nicola’s like and share really was the cherry on the cake! wub.gif Completely agree with all of your thoughts about the tour!

Meekul, it’s mostly Nicola and Kimberley who now do some of Sarah’s lines. As a four they’re harmonising really well tbh, but it’ll never be the same as it was with Sarah included in the vocal mix, of course. sad.gif
