Liverpool 2-0 up then. Looks like they're gonna go through thanks to an APPALING ref! Two nothing challenges and one Fernando 'makes a meal of it' Torres = a red card

Yes the ref was AWFUL, but even with Materazzi on the pitch Liverpool were by far the better side. You need luck to win games, and Liverpool got a slice of it today, but we should have had a penalty in the 2nd half so it evens itself out in the end. We were by far the better side, was same old same old for 85 minutes - Liverpool on top of the game but can't score. Kuyt's goal was a lucky deflection, and Gerrard's was v.good. Overall we deserved the victory. Is very pleasing I must say and i've got to hand it to Rafa Benitez too, his tactics were spot on today. |

Gerrards goal was so flukey About as flukey as David Beckham's debut Premiership goal from the half-way line. Typical Liverpool: An excellent European performance inflicting the first defeat suffered by Internationalize in 30 Games. Topped off by a brilliant Stevie G goal in off the post. On paper and form going into the match they did not stand a chance. But the job is only half done against the side I rate as the Best in Europe on current form this year looking how they cruised through their European Group & how they are running away with Serie A. Why oh why oh why are they so Jekyll & Hyde between European & Premiershiip football remains something that infuriates Liverpool supporters. |

But Inter knew what they were doing and the ref ruined their game plan. You created more for the first half hour but Inter kept you out fine and were likely to have kept it that way all night until he got sent off, they then had no chance. I know there was the penalty too which admittedly was wrong but that would never have happened if the ref wasn't so appalling in the first place. |

Obviously not too pleased with that, Wenger played the underdog card before the whole tie, but we certainly are the underdogs now.

Celtic and Arsenal in deep doody, Liverpool not out of the woods, but certainly have a healthy position.
Man Utd effectively in the lead with the away goal, and CHelsea meh they'll just fluke it as always |

Deep doody indeed, Celtic need to win 2-0, and I can't see that happening .
Time to petition for the 1967 final to come out on DVD, and keep watching it over and over reliving and thriving on past glories . This post has been edited by Marcus: 20th February 2008, 10:28 PM |

It's better supporting Celtic, as they're players who are passionate more about football than they are with pay packets.

Premier League footballers get payed far more, yes I agree, but can't say they don't but the effort in! I agree sometimes players don't always give 100%, but that happens in every team. |
