Hi everyone! So this is the first time I've ever done a personal chart. I've always been really interested in starting one but had no idea how to go about it as my listening habits are really erratic, but luckily I've figured out a system that I won't bore you with. All you need to know is that the top half is made up mostly of songs that I truly love at the moment, and the bottom half is kind of just by chance (radio, songs I listened to 1-3 times this week, etc.). Generally, I think that's what my charts will look like, though obviously there are exceptions (sorry "See You Again" and "Want to Want Me", I don't like you that much).

I'm trying to keep this as current as possible so I have a rule for recurrents inspired by Billboard, which is that once a song, after a certain time period, falls out of the top 20, it becomes a recurrent and can't chart again unless it charts in the top 20. The one "recurrent" that sneaked into the chart this week is "Vermillion" (which would probably already be going at 8 months if I'd started this chart last year). At the end I'll also be adding a flashback song of the week like I've seen people do here.

Also I like graphics and pretty stuff so I did a thing (possibly doing way too much but w/e)

So! Here's my inaugural chart:

Flashback: Foo Fighters – Everlong (1997)

[US Alt. #3, AU #45, CA Alt. #3, NZ #34, UK #18]

Selection may or may not be inspired by the final Letterman show, but regardless the Foo Fighters were one of my favorite bands when I was 13 and this song still holds the f*** up.

Those graphics are AMAZING, particularly the first one. But I just love Little Big Town so that's why. Great to see 'All You Had To Do Was Stay' so high, and 'Everlong' is indeed a classic.

What a brilliant debut *.*

hi.gif Riser, thanks for commenting!
  • The second graphic looks off because I didn't make the artist pics 140x140 as well but I'll just fix it next week. Glad you like them!
  • I usually appreciate country music from a distance but I wholeheartedly love "Girl Crush".
  • Taylor getting two top-10s out the wazoo *.*
  • True about "Everlong", I hadn't heard it in a while and I was shocked at how much I still completely love everything about it all these years later!

3. I think I still prefer the album version but I like the remix as well, gives it so much more bite.
16. I need to give Ratchet another listen but "On the Regular" is so good.

Thanks for commenting!
