Day 5: Favourite episode from Series 3: Blink, I'd say something else for variety but I'd be telling a lie! It's my favourite episode full stop let alone this season, for the reasons already stated and many more!

I'll give a shoutout also to the preceding two parter Human Nature / The Family of Blood, one of the best and unique two parters ever done with some really tense build-up and some really mature, quite profound themes to come with it.

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: The Empty Child
Day 2: Favourite companion: Donna Noble
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: The Impossible Planet
Day 4: Favourite monster: The Silence
Day 5: Favourite episode from Series 3: Blink
Day 6: Favourite spin-off: K9 and Company Torchwood - SJA is excellent as well but Torchwood offers a greater expansion on the universe for me and it was great for it to explore more grown-up ideas (even if some were definitely unnecessary!!). The team were all amazing and, for the 456th time, Children of Earth is one of the greatest series of all time of anything and, these past two months just highlight even more how chilling those cabinet/politics scenes are.

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways
Day 2: Favourite companion: Martha Jones
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday
Day 4: Favourite monster: Weeping Angels
Day 5: Favourite episode from Series 3: Blink
Day 6: Favourite spin-off: The Sarah Jane Adventures

I think Torchwood produced the single best spin-off series in the form of Children of Earth, but it had a bumpier ride along the way. SJA was consistently excellent, and ended FAR too soon cry.gif Lis Sladen was phenomenal as Sarah Jane throughout and the "kids" were stars too. I miss it. I miss her sad.gif

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1 - Father's Day
Day 2: Favourite companion - Clara Oswald
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2 - The Girl in the Fireplace
Day 4: Favourite monster - The Silence
Day 5: Favourite episode from Series 3 - Blink
Day 6: Favourite spin-off - Torchwood

Honestly I don't think any other TV show has made me cry in quite the same way Torchwood did when Jack sacrificed Steven, and the scenes that ensued after with Alice, etc. Children of Earth is one of THE finest, tragic, beautiful, incredible drama we have ever had. Period.

While SJA is equally as brilliant too, I'd like to give poor Class a shoutout because it was amazing. cry.gif Not quite as well developed in terms of monsters (the Shadow Kin are unforgivable), but it seemed like it was doomed from the very beginning despite having characters I was able to root for so easily, subject matter that worked well with the type of characters, and brilliant storylines.

Of course!! This was SUCH an exciting time to be a fan. The build-up to both episodes, the week in between, and they both lived up to the hype and then some wub.gif

Day 6: Favourite spin-off: Torchwood

I mean I haven't seen any others soooo (well except one episode of Class, which was more than enough lmao), pretty good series, Children of Earth was incredible, Miracle Day not so much.

Day 7: Favourite episode from Series 4: Midnight

This has such an incredibly creepy atmosphere, terrifying monster and development and as I've already alluded to, The Doctor is moments away from being truly defeated. It's a masterclass in how to write a supposed 'filler' episode.

I could name many that come close though, this series was incredible with barely any misses, I do miss RTD!

Day 7: Favourite episode from Series 4: Midnight - an amazing series but this is easy, absolute claustrophobic perfection! The Doctor at his absolute most powerless.
Day 8: Best planet to have been shown on Doctor Who: Gallifrey? this is definitely one area where the show falters, they've yet to create a full-blown realistic alien world. There's lots of really impressive CGI shots but it's just essentially one establishing shot and that's it. I think Rings of Akhaten is the maybe one of the closest they've come to building a satisfying world but you still don't see enough of it and it benefits from a lot being a market.

Same as Klaus really, it's certainly the most impressive visually, nothing much else comes to mind! Midnight looked pretty so naturally they couldn't even go outside laugh.gif

Day 8: Best planet to have been shown on Doctor Who: Gosh, for a Sci-Fi show, they are really quite bad at showing new worlds. I guess that's a small budget for you. I'll go with New Earth as shown on Series 2, looked kinda cool from what I recall.

Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials The Waters of Mars - perfection. an episode that can only happen once in a blue moon but i loved that it toyed with the Doctor's character and seeing him completely helpless and then we see a true machiavellian side come through and that Time Lord Victorious speech *.* also the Flood are a GREAT creation, the design is so creepy and it was all so effective with a really strong threat - definitely one of the more scary monsters. i love a base under seige wub.gif

Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials: The Waters of Mars

Agreed with Klaus! The claustrophobic setting was made ESPECIALLY good use of in this episode, the look of the Flood creatures was spectacularly spooky as well. Brilliant stuff!

Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials The Waters of Mars
Day 10: An underrated episode The Crimson Horror
Day 11: Favourite episode from Series 5 Vincent and the Doctor
Day 12: A quote from Doctor Who that inspires you "We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one."

Keep forgetting about this laugh.gif

Gallifrey, having been the only planet we've really seen so extensively (yet still feeling like we're in the dark about a lot of it), is the obvious answer here - and the Citadel always looks so beautiful on-screen. wub.gif

The Waters of Mars by far and away the best of the specials. A brilliant, thrilling and absolutely devastating episode from start to finish.

The Crimson Horror I've always found terribly underrated too. Such a great story, and probably one of the few Gatiss episodes that I actually enjoy a lot. The Paternoster gang returning, a proper mystery, the guest cast were great (Mr Sweet aside lol). A very fun romp ~

Vincent and the Doctor never fails to make me emotional. I can go back and watch the scene where they take Vincent to the art gallery on YouTube, and I'll cry every time. cry.gif Such a powerful episode that really managed to showcase an episode that doesn't need to rely on monsters or typical Doctor Who to stand out.

that's why i just started from where i left off rather than catching up kink.gif I agree with The Crimson Horror, I've always loved it but it never comes up in people's favourites!

oops i forgot it said 2013 specials as well, so poor Day of the Doctor - big shout out to having John Hurt as the Doctor wub.gif

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: The Empty Child
Day 2: Favourite companion: Donna Noble
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: The Impossible Planet

Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials: The Waters of Mars
Day 10: An underrated episode: Kill the Moon - this and Sleep No More or like amongst the most hated episodes yet I love them both oops. I get the ridiculousness of the moon being an egg and magically replacing it with an egg the exact same size but this is also a show that moved the Earth across the universe using the TARDIS so physics don't really apply. I just think it's really atmospheric, actually gets the school child right for once and the scenes on the moon are absolutely beautiful even if it is just coloured in grey. Also, the part that puts me off Capaldi's Doctor at times is the rubbish rewriting of the character where he doesn't care about anything anymore (the worst line in the history of the show for me is 'Clara is my carer, she cares so I don't have to') but I feel this is an episode that actually uses the concept well as it isn't that he doesn't care but he's putting his trust in Clara.

well, oops, lemme just catch up with you guys~

Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials: The Day of the Doctor, Waters of Mars is a close second, but I really think they got this spot on, great fast-paced action, Matt Smith and David Tennant were fantastic together, John Hurt & Tom Baker were also great, the threat wasn't particularly memorable but overall, it was just a lot of fun and captured the spirit of the show perfectly. I felt all the feels when all the TARDISes combined to combat the threat.

Day 10: An underrated episode: The Caretaker I just picked one that has a fairly low score on IMDb, I always found this one really amusing and though the monster was stupid, I think it showed a different, funnier side that Peter Capaldi that showed that he brought the best to the role.

The Caretaker is the pinnacle of the direction they tried to take 12th Doctor into not working for me. The reactions to Danny just really don’t sit comfortable with me and I really struggle to get the whole PE teacher thing, it feels so forced and unnatural.

12's hatred for Danny is pretty random, but I feel like most of the comedy surrounding it is amazing.

"Mr Pink's looking after you? Well that explains why you're lost." is ICONIC laugh.gif!

Why have I started flopping at this

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways
Day 2: Favourite companion: Martha Jones
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday
Day 4: Favourite monster: Weeping Angels

Day 6: Favourite spin-off: The Sarah Jane Adventures
Day 7: Favourite episode from Series 4: The Stolen Earth / Journey's End
Day 8: Best planet to have been shown on Doctor Who: Gallifrey
Day 9: Favourite episode from 2008-10 & 2013 Specials: The Waters of Mars
Day 10: An underrated episode: It Takes You Away

The first one that came to mind! Always seems to get a tough time of it when I found it to be a real highlight of series 11. The frog was barmy but so very Doctor Who!

Gonna do two cos I only seem to remember this when someone bumps it kink.gif

Day 11: Favourite episode from Series 5: Amy's Choice - Moffat did really well with incorporating emotional human drama in the breath as Sci-Fi very well and this was a great example, it adds such psychological depth and character development that I hadn't seen before and I don't think any showrunner's been quite as good as it as he was.

Day 12: A quote from Doctor Who that inspires you: “You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!” *.* So true!
