Girls Aloud were sort of similar - they're peak era was when The Promise came out IMO and it was one of their last releases!

Don't you think that era was as big as it was due to Cheryl being a judge on x factor though? It was her first season as judge and had performance was a lot hype around her back then.

Not taken credit away from girls aloud of course brilliant group just with you saying it was there biggest era and things smile.gif

Maybe im letting my own views on the Promise get in the way - just thought it was their biggest track and most mature sounding track which was played on both radio 1 & 2 etc - then they basically retired after it.

With LM slaying right now, it does make me wonder if other artists will start to release on Sunday's in order to climb the iTunes charts quicker?

I don't think Sunday will help artists climb faster, I just think it's a special case with Little Mix because they've become one of the UK's biggest acts.

Difference being that LM had a huge XF premiere (the song prem'd with the performance) to do this with. Syco got the hype BANG ON with this. I don't think I'd seen so much hype for a single XF performance before? Risky strategy especially with XF not coming close to their peak lately and streaming impacting the chart as much as it does now. But it was perfectly handled. I reckon Simon might start thinking about keeping big "exclusives" from his artists for his show now. Although I think LM are the only ones who would pull it off successfully! Fifth Harmony would come close, but I'm not 100% confident that the public are as into them as they are with Little Mix.

The answer is the public are nowhere near into Fitth Harmony as they are Little Mix. An exclusive with them wouldn't work at all.

The only act I can really see doing a Sunday premier on XF is Fleur

Harry Styles could premiere his debut single on The X Factor and make it work, that's if he's ready to release something this year.

Don't forget we're still yet to hear Louisa's single. I reckon she'll debut it on XF this year then release the album around March/April time. They won't give her a Q4 album release now it's so late in the year (and good idea not to, it wouldn't even make top 20 in the busy Christmas album charts)

Somehow I don't see that happening, I noticed Niall Horan hasn't performed his new track on x-factor, he did it on Graham Norton instead

It is obvious all of them want to untie their image from The X Factor/1D. They all ran away from Syco.

He's currently acting in Christopher Nolan's upcoming Dunkirk film.

^ he's finished the acting! I believe he's not releasing his album until.next year but no-one really knows about the lead single. He's signed to Sony but not to Syco, so he could still perform on XF if he has a song out in time I guess.

Still the biggest injustice in pop to this date. It was almost as if they won the Brit Award and thought "that's it - we are done." (Even if some of them were already moving on by that point - Nadine and (especially) Cheryl, I am looking at you teresa.gif )
