02. Kanye West - POWER (23 votes, 53.49%)

The phenomenal song doesn't have quite enough strength to steal the win, but at #2 it's nothing to be ashamed of. The lead single from 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, an album which for many stands above all of his others. It introduces the album well, a song about power, control, glory and all of its vices. It's a rip-roaring anthem that is sure to fire up any listener. Critical acclaim, Grammy nominations, almost universal praise but not quite the commercial success that it deserved. This seemed to be a theme for the album as a whole, but as with a lot of things it has grown over time and has since become a Kanye classic. With explosive lyrics and a thumping beat throughout, you can only bow down.




Which means the winner and your least, least favourite Kanye West single (is that correct?) is the glorious, transcendent...

01. Kanye West - All of the Lights

I did predict this to win back when we started up the polls, but i am not for a second disappointed at the inevitable/[redicted victory. 'Power' put up a formidable fight, but the combined forces of Rihanna, Cudi and more mean that 'All of the Lights' shines brightest. A song that means so much, through its lyrics and message. Within the context of the album it is born from, the song is about anything and everything. From American politics, musical icons, love, pride, family, identity... the list goes on. The lights are ALL on quite literally as he doesn't hold back, revealing his deepest, inner most dark secrets and lets them shine out. A truly breathtaking song that continues to offer so much with every listen. It restored some chart success following on from the singles before it (it is the most friendly song he released from the album tbf) and it continues to wow us all to this date. We've gone all the way this time, and we're left with quite simply a sensational winner.
