QUOTE NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster has revealed that around 1,000 entries have been submitted for the upcoming Norwegian Eurovision national final - Melodi Grand Prix 2016. A special committee appointed by NRK consisting of Pia Skevik, Marie Komissar, Jan Fredrik Karlsen and Stig Karlsen will evaluate all received entries and select a total of 10 songs/acts for the 2016 Norwegian national final- Melodi Grand Prix. One of these lucky 10 songs will go on to represent Norway at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. NRK is yet to announce the dates and venue for MGP 2016. More information on the 2016 Norwegian national final will be disclosed in due course. In 2015 Norway opted for its annual Eurovision national selection MGP in order to select its Eurovision entry and act for Vienna. Mørland & Debrah Scarlett won the 2015 Norwegian national final and were awarded the golden ticket to represent Norway at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with their entry Monster like me. Norway achieved an honorable 8th placing in the grand finale in Vienna. ESC Today Norway really have found themselves on an incredibly strong run of entries, ever since 2008 for me. Only Carl Espen was a slight dip in quality for my personal taste but there was no denying it was a very high quality song and performance. Mørland & Debrah were absolutely fantastic last year, I'd love for Norway to continue their slightly alternative-pop genre they've found themselves in since Margaret in 2013! |

Not proper alternative, just they both had a different darker vibe that is unusual for Eurovision to an extent.

God Monster Like Me was a RIGHT BORE. I get how it did well but it brought nothing new to the table at all. I started off loving Silent Storm but the perf totally killed it dead for me.
Time for a TITS OUT ODYSSEY THANKS NORGE |

I've been loving Norway the past three years, all in my absolute favourites of each contest so MORE OF the classy pop please. They know how to do it. Although if they can put that formula through to something upbeat I won't complain either. Thing is, A Monster Like Me and Silent Storm really stood out for me among the rest of the ballads so I've taken very little issue with them.

Announcement is tomorrow but I hear there are no tickets left for the Press Conference. |

Hoping for Laila's song to go cray cray in full form *.*
Stage Dolls is the stage name of, one would assume, three 14-year old girls, but apparently not. Disney is back with Stine *.* Suite 16 are winning this, aren't they? No one show them to Joseph plz ugh i don't get this selection. 40 year olds singing something a 21 year old would usually get, a f***ing boyband, 57 lesbians choir trying very hard not to be a laughing stock of the competition, 3 token old men who are definitely going to the final. oh and did I mention a boyband?! AGNETE SAVE US ALL |

Freddy Kalas is DSQ, the chours is to similar to a song he made 5 years ago...
It's embarrasing for NRK and Fredrik Karlsen that they didn't noticed this. Sad for the show too, cause I think he would've made a great show. Edit: NRK is in a meeting now, discussing what to do next. This post has been edited by Jerick: 20th January 2016, 03:12 PM |
