OMG at Hungry Hearts, it's like a German ABBA techno tribute band were asked to knock up something quickly using eJay software from 2001.

I'm a bit of a casual Suite 16 fan, I only really know Stupid Lovesong of theirs but Anna-Lee is way better than that, properly loving this

afterglow though. a fantastic performance would secure norway's top 10 streak for another year. sure, it sounds a bit balkan circa 2007 but we haven't had this kind of song in the contest in years ;_;
icebreaker's change of tempo sounds REALLY WEIRD. it's like parts of two different songs are being played in turns :/ the hungry hearts i just have no words. i knew this would be a hot mess but this turned out to be even hotter than i could ever imagine. this will be a eurovision national final classic in a few years time all in all, afterglow to win *.* |

What's happened to MGP, this selection is so underwhelming So many sound so cheaply produced and most of the songs aren't that special to start with. With 10 songs I'd expect the quality control to be a bit higher, 2009 had double the number of songs and that included 7 or 8 which were 9/10+.
I'm rooting for Icebreaker or Afterglow, even though the structure of the former is indeed really odd. I like Laika (TRULY iconic mess) and Anna Lee too but I think another top 10 finish at Eurovision might be a tall order for Norway. |

MGP have been terrible dull since 2014, when they changed the format. I have lost my motivation, and I feel a bit fustrating. Thank god for Melodifestivalen. I think most people agree with me that NRK have made a big mistake. Before I was very proud of MGP, alot of people in Norway and abroad tuned in to watch just like MF. But now it feels more like EuroFest in Belarus.
When MGP had semi finals it felt like the whole nation took part, as they went all around the country. More Norwegians watched it, and people could listen to the songs for weeks and get to know them. The newspapers wrote much more about mgp, and people were much more engaged. I'm glad they scrapped the "MGP weekend" though, cause those semi finals that took part in a theater in 2014 was just dire to watch. Viewing figures of the finals 2009 1 526 000 2010 1 382 000 2011 1 304 000 2012 1 216 000 2013 980 000 2014 755 000 2015 1 250 000 This post has been edited by Jerick: 11th February 2016, 06:20 PM |

Spotted this earlier, all the 4 runaway favourites in the second half of the draw I see! Should be fairly simple for Freddy, Laila, Suite 16 and Agnete to make the superfinal unless The Hungry Hearts can spring a surprise.

Top 5 most streamed MGP entries on Spotify in the largest cities in Norway. 1. Freddy Kalas - 3 million streams 2. Suite 16 - 75 000 streams 3. Agnete - 45 000 Spotify streams usally don't reflect the results, but it's kinda interesting how much more Freddy Kalas have been streamed than his other contenders. When it comes to Suite 16 I have grown really fund of them the last couple of days after I heard it on the radio and they released Norway's first 360° video the other day. I think the preformance on Saturday will decide if my vote will go to Laila Samuels or Suite 16. Would be nice with something else than a ballad. |

TONIGHT'S NATIONAL FINAL... NORWAY Melodi Grand Prix 27th February 2016 Begins at 7.55pm in the UK, 8.55pm in Norway and Central Europe The show is scheduled to last 2 hours 5 minutes Watch the selection on Eurovision.tv or via the official NRK webcast Running Order Click ♫ to listen to each song! 01 | ♫ The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan - Laika 02 | ♫ Stage Dolls - Into The Fire 03 | ♫ Stine Hole Ulla - Traces 04 | ♫ Makeda - Stand Up 05 | ♫ Pegasus - Anyway 06 | ♫ Freddy Kalas - Feel Da Rush 07 | ♫ Laila Samuels - Afterglow 08 | ♫ Elouiz - History 09 | ♫ Suite 16 - Anna Lee 10 | ♫ Agnete - Icebreaker Voting The voting will consist of two rounds and both will be decided by 100% televoting. In the first round the top 4 songs will progress to the superfinal where the winner will be chosen, with televotes announced region by region! Potential Winners? Jerick will probably know the general feeling in Norway more than me, but it terms of the odds the bookmakers all agree that Agnete is favourite to win with odds averaging around Evens for her. Already a big Spotify hit in Norway, second favourite is Freddy Kalas with odds around the 3/1 mark and is closely followed by Laila Samuels and Suite 16 on odds averaging around 4/1 and 5/1 respectively. The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan aren't too far behind either with odds averaging around 6/1, although as low as a victory-challenging 3/2 at Nordic Bet! Further details available at ESC Today |

Media have already declared Agnete as the favorite, at least NRK Dagsrevyen (Norway's most daily watched news program) did today. They had an interview with her today.
There was a program late tonight, called 'Dagen før Dagen' (The day before the day). I didn't watch it because I had to go to work, so I don't know if they discussed any winning chances. I recorded it so will be watching it before the final tomorrow. How I see it, the one's with a chance of winning is Laila Samuels, Agnete and maybe followed close by Suite 16 and Freddy Kalas. Laila Samuels sounds like something the average Norwegian will vote for (including myself). Right at this moment I'm split between her and Suite 16. Would be nice to send something else than a ballad this year, will be deciding after the performances before I decide. Since 2008 my favorite have won, but this year I think it will be extreamly close! My prediction for the superfinal would be 1. Laila Samuels 2. Agnete 3. Freddy Kalas 4. Suite 16 The Hungry Hearts may kick Freddy Kalas or Suite 16 out of the superfinal as Young adults/teenagers votes will be split between them. Agnete is my favourite quite easily, but I'd be very happy with Freddy Kalas winning too I think. Unlike the Pizza song last year this comes across as a solid summer pop song and not just a novelty song!
I've only listened to Laila once and I can't remember it so I'll have to see if it clicks tomorrow, and while Suite 16 was nice we don't need another boyband type song when we already have Lighthouse X, Nicky Byrne and now I suppose Joe and Jake all filling that category even if Suite 16 does it better than a couple of them. |

That was such an intriguing song and a really interesting and bold stage performance! So fun! I would almost love for this to win! I actually wouldn't be opposed to it.. as that would give us a lot of attention

I have no words for that 'Laika' performance. Would be such a change of style for Norway to the point of absolute ridiculousness.

Two alright songs in a row. I guess they're nice within each genre, though. But I guess they have to be there because, well, diversity and stuff!

Hmm.. interesting outfit () and a nice voice. Kind of catchy too, but that is all. It should be more to it, though, if she wants to advance to the gold final, I feel.
