It just occurred to me that your first qualifier finishing 11th matches our first qualifier finishing 11th, which was also in a January contest (two years ago) and followed a string of consecutive DNQs the year before just like yours!

Considerably better than the future bass tracks in the charts, with a harder beat too. Like the ending from 2:49 onwards, its a bit like Porter Robinson slowed down imo. A good entry!

Greetings from the newfound Holland-Oats! We commend your language here: a Yorkshire literacy program was adopted into the school curriculum a few years ago, but after just 3 hours was quickly banned from being taught due to how students were pronouncing 'olland-oats!

I really love this song, it's got a certain charm to it. I also enjoy the juxtaposition of how it has a "romantic" sound yet is about how the girl is not romantic Well done for improving on Deandria's last-in-final position which we ended up with when we sent Hooverphonic (a band with SO many good songs) many moons ago. Too bad we weren't there to support it

Yep, semi points are included! Basically the points are 25 - 1 for my Top 25 in the Final and any DNQs I pointed get the number of points I gave them in the semi (so 8 in your case). Thought that was probably the fairest way to do it so all the songs I enjoyed get some recognition!

'The Bay' was the biggest grower for me throughout the final, great entry! I got an early Nothing But Thieves vibe from it.

It's sort-of based on points given by Niceland to you over the past 10 contests - an +18 is equivalent to 25pts and 25th place is equivalent to 1pt, and if you DNQ you get the number of points I gave you in the semi. You've sent lots of tunes recently hence the high positioning!
Glad you were such a fan! I hadn't thought about Nothing But Thieves but suppose it does sound a bit like them come to think of it!

Didn't realise you hadn't updated your thread for a while but anyway throwing some love out to this. A really captivating, moving and interesting little track and I liked the effect to his voice when he's singing like he actually can't breathe. Sells the song perfectly. Possibly one of your best ever entries for me. Hopefully it does very well in the final.
