There's a reason as to why I've suddenly added this as a predicta! It has been given incredible reviews from almost EVERY major media outlet! Including it getting a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score; 5 out of 5 from BOTH Empire & Total Film as well as a 10 out of 10 from movie news website JoBlo! However the Daily Mirror seem to have given it a 2 out of 5 suggesting it's "too many thrills & spills and not enough plot"... which is my personal main concern too!

BUT WE SHALL SEE.

Anyhow, how well do you think it'll do over this weekend in both the UK & US? Wil the stellar reviews help it become a box office smash? Will it perform averagely? Or will it just be a huge mess and flop?

PREDICT AWAY!

I'm going to guess:

$37.5m for the US
£1.6m for the UK

Big things expected for this!

This is my concern from the trailer where I have no idea what's going on but the critic consensus on Rotten Tomatoes includes the snippet "a surprising amount of narrative heft" so I don't know what to think.

I'll say £2.5m in the UK and if it's really as good as the reviews suggest then it should hold up great through word of mouth. This vs. Pitch Perfect 2 is interesting but they appear to be targeted at two very different audiences so they should be able to co-exist.

As usual for the US I'm drawing a random number out. This time that happens to be $28m laugh.gif

Personally, this films trailer is one of the best trailer I've ever seen...I'm highly concerned that it might end up being one of the movies where trailer is BIGGER than the whole movie.

I'm predicting 48 million in US and 3 million in UK

Official figures:

UK: £2m+ (£4.5m)
US: $30m+ ($44.4m)

Again, amazing numbers!
