They still have a huge fanbase who buys up the album on the first week though unfortunetly rolleyes.gif !! Spice girls' sales will be consistently high in the weeks leading up to xmas (even if WL had beaten them first week) whereas WL's album will drop after the first week's high sales.

The Spice Girls will sell around 250k in their first week I reckon, Westlife around 225k. However in the second week Westlife will probably see a 75% decrease in sales, whereas the Spice Girls' is likely to be like 20-30%. happy.gif

Spices would easily outsell them. This ain't 1999 anymore, plus Westlife have absolutely derailed their reputations as the world's leading karaoke group

Spice Girls album on sale Sunday
12:46 | Thursday November 8, 2007
Source: MW
By Robert Ashton

EMI is to overlooking the usual retail traditions and put the Spice Girls Greatest Hits album on sale this Sunday.

The move, one day before traditional new releases are made available, gives the album an extra day of sales on the charts. It also follows the group’s unique partnership with Victoria Secrets - the US lingerie chain stocked the album.

Some key releases have previously plumped for different days of the week to create a buzz and a spokeswoman for EMI says putting the Spice Girls album on sale November 11 makes sense because the album has terrific “high awareness”.

She adds, “A lot of people are out shopping on a Sunday, especially around Christmas.”

i'd like to see new releases out on a Sunday. The amount of times I've wanted something to be in store on a Sunday when I've been out = sad.gif

They're only releasing this a day early because of Leona magic.gif

did you get it when it was £17.99?

I missed out sad.gif and Amazon is only £22.99 so not too bad, compared to HMV now at £29.99 and Woolies at something like £38 ohmy.gif

If it wasn't for the remix disc (and the guilty pleasure of the karaoke disc) I'd cancel the preorder rotf.gif and get the 2 disc instead
