Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 25/01 to 31/01 chart
Mark to go downtown and minesweep FOB's #1?
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars are heading for a 6th non-consecutive week at #1 this week - a feat last achieved by Rihanna's 'We Found Love' in late 2011. Meghan Trainor may not be too far behind though as 'Lips Are Movin'', her follow-up to 'All About That Bass', is released this week and seems to have at least #2 on lock. Elsewhere in the chart, Avicii's 'The Nights' and Sia's 'Elastic Heart' may climb into the Top 10.
In complete contrast to the year so far, this week's album chart is looking to be mixed up with the release of several new albums. Fighting for the top spot will be Mark Ronson's Uptown Special and Fall Out Boy's American Beauty/American Psycho. Neither have reached #1 with an album before but both are no stranger to the #2 spot - Mark is perhaps more deserving of #1 to avoid a hat-trick of #2s. Other new entries to the Top 10 may be Enter Shikari's The Mindsweep, Belle & Sebastian's Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance and The Waterboys' Modern Blues, whilst, further down the chart, Above & Beyond, The Decemberists, Marilyn Manson and Funeral for a Friend should enter.

Enter Shikari for top 10 hopefully Fall Out Boy should get the #2 spot (assuming they stay ahead of the usual George/Ed/Sam trio)
I doubt Sam/George/Ed will pass 20k this week so Mark and Fall Out Boy will easily be the top 2 I think. I wouldn't be surprised if Fall Out Boy beat the sales of their last album despite the singles not doing as well, the instant grats seem to have done well at building up the hype with the album being top 50 on iTunes on pre-orders for the last two weeks (even going top 10 for a couple of days). Enter Shikari may have to settle for #6 but I don't think they'll be any lower than that.
If Mark Ronson can manage yet another week of 100,000 this week or 101,000 he will become a million seller this week.
I think Ed, George and Sam will all sell more than 20,000. Their Friday and Saturday sales last week were considerably higher than expected and I think that was due to the BRITs nominations being announced; the hype will continue to push sales this week. Fall Out Boy should still manage #2 but Mark Ronson will comfortably have the #1. Enter Shikari will be low top ten.
The singles chart is less interesting. I'd imagine Uptown Funk should have no problem selling another 100,000+.
I think the top 3 albums will be all new, with Enter Shikari at #3 to begin with, once the first update comes thru, the new albums will push Ed and George down to 4 and 5. Its so quiet on twitter I can't even find any mid info just yet. Hopefully we get something soon.
On the singles chart, its going to be so quiet with Meghan been the only new entry, bearing in mind she was #50 last week, Avicii should climb up a couple of places, I can't really see anything else apart from album tracks from Fall Out Boy and Mark Ronson charting in the singles chart.
According to Mint Royale on twitter
Jessie J masterpiece 72
Fall Out Boy number 1 in albums
Mark Ronson number 2
Meghan Trainor number 2
Spamming to wish The Nights another top 10 smash
There are also eight new release in the top twelve of the albums chart, and Mark Ronson 'isn't miles behind' Fall Out Boy according to Mint Royale.
I would have anticipated that Mark Ronson would have just cruised his to the pole position in the album chart. That said, i would be slightly happier to see Fall Out Boy reach the summit. I would predict many of the early new entries will start dropping through out the week.
Go away Fall Out Boy. Looking forward to the sales difference as I think Fall Out Boy would be slightly more frontloaded as there will be more fanbase buys.
Woo! FOB are due a #1, strange that they haven't had one already.
Mark Ronson will likely overtake Fall Out Boy by the end of the week if it is close, as there are probably going to be more casual buyers of 'Uptown Special' than 'American Beauty / American Psycho'. Both acts are long overdue a #1 album, shame they had to release on the same week really!

George Ezra down 1-6 in the albums at the moment and some way behind Ed and Sam - but he could still pull an upset again and end up overtaking them. The top 2 albums definitely look safe but Enter Shikari will likely be overtaken.
Dr. Dre's '2001' is the Google Play 99p album of the week.
Expect big changes in the singles chart for tomorrow as we're missing some streaming data today, the current update is basically just a vague guideline.
Mark Ronson's sales just ain't letting up *.* Brilliant. Really want him to get as close to Cher's 100k a week record (thing? Is it a record?) as possible. I know the last couple of weeks of him being over 100k will be the inclusion of streams, but I'm still willing for him to get as close as possible without the streaming inclusions!
On Sunday, I hope for Avicii to climb into the top 10, Echosmith to climb into the top 20 and for Idina Menzel to fall out of the top 40. It also looks like the #2 single could pass 100,000 sales
NOTE: Some streaming data missing
8 Avicii - The Nights BLOODY HELL top 5 possibility? but brought down by streams atm
10 Taylor Swift - Shake It Off 18 then
11-20
13 Blonde feat. Melissa Steel - I Loved You 16 then
18 Jeremih feat. YG - Don't Tell 'Em these two STILL climbing?
20 Echosmith - Cool Kids top 20 please!
21 Calvin Harris feat. John Newman - Blame AHHHHH TAYLOR WHERE R U?
33 Kid Ink feat. Chris Brown - Hotel * unexpected
35 Idina Menzel - Let It Go could be worse
37 Majestic and Jungle 70 - Creeping In The Dark * who is this? what genre oh never mind
38 Years & Years - Desire ^ Who is top 40? "Is it Desire?..."
Mark Ronson's album sales are also impressive considering the likelihood that they're not frontloaded.
Uptown Funk should be a million seller by the end of the week (with streams added)
Top 3 Albums just what I expected to be honest.
Missing streaming data from Spotify for Sunday
at Creeping In The Dark and Hotel being in this update, great songs!
Blame at #21? Am I hallucinating? Why Britain? WHY?
Like last week, the top 5 albums at the least will have respectable sales, the possibility of a general top 10 of respectable sales also looks on course. Fall Out Boy, 2,000 sales lead could be enough to remain number 1.
yay for Mark Ronson hope he does the double too, not listened to his album yet but he's far preferable to Fall Out Boy (especially with their new songs that I've heard being awful)
BOO at Let It Go not leaving with Jameela hopefully when streaming is added it goes.
I've completely missed something with this Ronson wave of hysteria. I'm guessing Meghan will be pushed further back when streaming is added. Was hoping she could push him off the top. Roll on Ellie G release week.
Let's hope Fergie can topple MR from #1 next week
Björk just released an album, could that make an impact on the album chart this week?
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/vulnicura/id959973080
Looks like another week >120k for 'Uptown Funk', surely Mark Ronson can do the double!
Hopefully Avicii will go top ten this week with 'The Nights'.
Great start for Above & Beyond!
Ronson is in a whole different league when it comes to streaming so it seems!
Anxiously waiting for 3:30pm (and hoping Blame, Sing & Prayer In C will be gone from the top 40)
yesss! Sia in the top 10!

"aka Wake Me Up Pt 2" omg Clara shading already
"Let It Go" will hopefully be pushed out on Sunday by streaming
7/11 still in the top 40. It can't have as many haters as I thought because it's not even getting any airplay right now.
"Blame" would have pissed off out the top 40 ages ago and Kid Ink would be in there if it wasn't for streaming
OCC report mentions Mark Ronson could be brought to an end this Sunday, which makes me think data is still missing from somewhere. Don't have any other chart info today apart from the Radio 1 chart update to clarify, so far.
Radio 1 haven't updated their website to show the songs above Number 9. Can anyone tell me what's numbers 6,7 and 8 please?
The Nights fall one place
I'm starting to worry its deserved top 10 placement will be denied, since it streaming pulled it down last week
So unless SUDDENLY stream boost I predict it will be #7 maybe #6 on sales only, also
I predict Elastic Heart will stretch above Avicii but there is NO HOPE IN HELL of Taylor Sells overtaking it
I don't think #12-15 will overtake it either, so it looks like a #10 placement this week
I hope it can climb a bit more. If it gets on with radio play, streams etc.
is streaming still not counted? Or is Shake It Off just selling so much to be #11 in the combined update?
I'm more confident Sia can keep her top 10 place this week. Come on girl!
Anyone know where Chapter One is?

I hope Sia hasn't lost her place in the top 10 due to the X Craptor winner
Mark Ronson is most likely doing around 14k to 15k per day, I probably estimate his sales at 112k to 115k for the week.
He could still do the double, his album is selling more than FOB yesterday, he could take it by Saturday night close of business.
Björk 5 places ahead of where her last album peaked on just one day of sales (and 100% digital) - pretty impressive even if it is a low sales environment. It was very marginally the highest selling album yesterday, a few copies ahead of Mark Ronson!
Nice to see Ben back in the Top 10 again, have a feeling he might be higher tomorrow as he's #8 on ITunes and #2 on Amazon downloads today and the boost was only for a couple of hours last night and he's jumped 13-10
Impressive result for Bjork when we consider there is no phyisical version available at present.
Ben coming for dat platinum
Have I predicted the rest of the top 10 thusly:
6.
7. _____ Taylor Swift
8. Heroes
9. The Nights
10. SIN
?
And I noticed you had data about the sales gap between:
Personally I'm pleased Something I Need is back in the top 10.
Bjork's album might be top ten tomorrow.
I expected Meghan Trainor to pass 100,000 sales by Sunday but that's impossible as she has dropped to #3 on iTunes
"All About That Bass" available for free on Google Play today.
I know this is off topic so I appologise but does anyone know if there's somewhere I can look at X factor singles chart runs? Thanks

As usual sales and other positions will be added later, as that is a separate issue with a different source, if we get any.
The only track that has left the top 40 from last week is Idina Menzel, its the same 39 singles from last week plus Meghan
Martin Is Beyonce still top 40 with 7/11?
Bjork now at 12,
Great to see Bjork so high - hopefully Top 10 by the end of the week.
Kid Ink hasn't left the top 25 on iTunes and he isn't in the top 40? WTF?!
I was right with Shake It Off. Was it #18 I predicted? Wow if it misses the top 20 this week. IIRC it was #11 on Tuesday
Hope Avicii gets the top 10 in the bag
with Bjork climbing the chart Above & Beyond will definitely miss the top 10 then shame as it's such an amazing album but I'm surprised it's doing this well anyway, their last studio album only went to #49!
Where are Promesses & All About That Bass? Cheers.
I'd love for "Take Me to Church" to overtake "Lips Are Movin'" before Sunday!
I hope Hozier doesn't take Meghan, I really like 'Lips Are Movin' now.
I hope Sia can make the top 10 on Sunday... damn you Ben Haenow.
Heroes (We Could Be) is doing so much better than Wicked Games by Parra for Cuva! It's also beating Heroes by David Bowie. (27-26-25-24-25-25-34-39)
I was wondering about this, because I remember laughing at the suggestion that Will.I.Am's 'Bang Bang' had anything to do with the Sonny Bono song and it turned out that they had given him a credit on it. Does anyone know officially what the position is with 'Heroes'?
