Justin Bieber & MØ) - Cold Water = 147pts 53 [19] Imany - Don't Be So Shy (Filatov & Karas Remix) = 151pts 52 [54] Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion = 153pts 51 [90] Dua Lipa - Last Dance = 154pts Some big changes already here as we lose one of last years’ semi-finalists; Don’t Be So Shy slides from 19-53, It struggled all week in the vote and despite a few good rankings was never really in the running. Whilst that takes a big drop we do see some big climbs here especially from Last Dance which rises from 90-51 and also Cold Water and Piece of Me. Sing me to Sleep, Never Be Like You, Sound of Silence and also All Night drop out of the top 50 this year too. Mostly in this section though is a load of songs who didn’t receive a nomination last year; the lowest being All Night (I Think About You) which gained just 1 vote (from me ) 50 [34] Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman = 161pts 49 [NE] Viola Beach - Boys That Sing = 161pts 48 [58] Röyksopp (feat. Susanne Sundfør) - Never Ever = 166pts 47 [69] Major Lazer (feat. Nyla & Fuse ODG) - Light It Up = 167pts 46 [47] Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself = 170pts 45 [24] Britney Spears (feat. G-Eazy) - Make Me… = 172pts 44 [37] Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out = 179pts 43 [32] Drake (feat. Wizkid & Kyla) - One Dance = 179pts 42 [41] Christine And The Queens - Saint Claude = 182pts 41 [50] Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover) = 182pts 40 [39] DJ Snake (feat. Justin Bieber) - Let Me Love You = 185pts 39 [40] Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl = 185pts 38 [27] Elle King - Ex's And Oh's = 193pts 37 [36] Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better = 197pts 36 [21] Chainsmokers (feat. ROZES) - Roses = 198pts So some big drops as Dangerous Woman, Make Me.., One Dance, Ex and Oh’s and Roses all drop out of auto-qualifying for next year. That’s My Girl was ahead of Work from Home for the first half of the vote, before its points collapsed. Similarly Treat You Better was on course to be top 25, however the last days worth of votes didn’t really favour it. Let Me Love You was another nearly made it as it was tying in 35th place about 4 votes before the end, however drops to 40th due to other songs overtaking it. Boys That Sing is the 2nd highest song that didn’t receive a nom last year, which means there is 1 song still to come which has gone from missing 2019’s vote completely to auto-qualifying (and beyond) this year. This section also sees big climbs for Light it Up and Never Ever which both enter the top 40… Auto-Qualifying 35 [17] MØ - Final Song = 200pts 34 [18] Clean Bandit (feat. Louisa Johnson) - Tears = 200pts 33 [11] Chainsmokers (feat. Halsey) - Closer = 207pts 32 [25] AlunaGeorge - I'm In Control = 211pts 31 [26] Shawn Mendes - Stitches = 212pts 30 [30] Bruno Mars - 24k Magic = 218pts 29 [65] All Saints - One Strike = 219pts 28 [14] Chainsmokers (feat. Daya) - Don't Let Me Down = 236pts 27 [15] 1975 - The Sound = 248pts 26 [73] Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom = 250pts 25 [31] Beyoncé - Formation = 252pts 24 [04] Fifth Harmony (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) - Work from Home = 255pts 23 [NE] ZAYN - Pillowtalk = 258pts 22 [13] Ariana Grande (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Side To Side = 265pts 21 [20] Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah) = 265pts So last years semi-finalists are completely massacred here as 7 songs which made the top 20 all drop down… meanwhile an even bigger drop is had for Work from Home. The Fifth Harmony song finished in 4th place last year and was an automatic finalist, this year it slides 20 places ad doesn’t even reach the semi-finals. The Chainsmokers lose 2 songs from last years semi-finals as Closer drops 22 places and Don’t Let You Down slides 14. Whilst there are some big drops, there are some big rises as One Strike climbs from 65th place to 29th and auto-qualifies for next and Vroom Vroom does even better charging 73-26. Pillowtalk meanwhile gained no nomination at all in 2019 and this year manages to auto-qualify for next year. Pillowtalk was top 20 for most of the vote and looked set to be a semi-finalist, however was just pipped in the last day of votes. Also to note than I’m in Control managed to retain its qualification due to the last voter which saw the song climb a fair few places back into the top 35. So some big changes, what did make it this year… Semi-Finals 20 [29] Little Mix (feat. Jason Derulo) - Secret Love Song = 273pts 19 [12] Mike Posner - I Took A Pill In Ibiza = 274pts 18 [10] Rihanna (feat. Drake) - Work = 281pts 17 [22] Weeknd (feat. Daft Punk) - I Feel It Coming = 285pts 16 [38] Adele - When We Were Young = 290pts 15 [44] 1975 - Somebody Else = 290pts 14 [33] Calvin Harris (feat. Rihanna) - This Is What You Came For = 291pts 13 [43] Blossoms - Charlemagne = 291pts 12 [28] Sia - Cheap Thrills = 291pts 11 [35] Little Mix - Shout Out To My Ex = 300pts 10 [16] Rihanna - Kiss It Better = 300pts 09 [23] Dua Lipa - Hotter Than Hell = 301pts 08 [09] Zara Larsson - Lush Life = 306pts 07 [08] Clean Bandit (feat. Anne-Marie & Sean Paul) - Rockabye = 352pts 06 [07] Kungs vs Cookin On 3 Burners - This Girl = 384pts So some big changes here as a load of songs move into a semi-finalist position. Somebody Else, Charlamagne and When We Were Young weren’t even automatic qualifiers this years, however surge into the top 20. When We Were Young was in 2nd place for most of the vote, however it died on its arse a bit the longer the week went on. Somebody Else also climbs ahead of The Sound and basically replaces in the semis this years. Shout Out to My Ex climbs 24 places and list When We Were Young started strongly and looked set to finish top 5, however its vote dried up whilst Cheap Thrills, Hotter Than Hell, This Is What You Came For, I Feel it Coming and Secret Love Song all take big climbs into the top 20 and become semi-finalists this year. I Took a Pill started extremely slowly, however whilst it drops 7 places it gained most of its points from the last day of vote as it was languishing outside the top 50 for most of the week. In the top 10, This Girl and Rockabye had moments in the top 5, however didn’t quite make it, in fact This Girl was pushed out in the last few votes… Finalists 05 [05] Alan Walker - Faded = 402pts 04 [02] Weeknd (feat. Daft Punk) – Starboy = 406pts 03 [03] xx - On Hold = 431pts 02 [06] Christine & The Queens - Tilted / Christine = 489pts 01 [01] Ariana Grande - Into You = 637pts Not the expected top 5 given how the vote was going, however outside the number 1 spot it was basically a race to 2nd place. Into You lead from the off and was at one stage more than 200pts clear of its nearest rival. Tilted climbed more as the vote went on and actually managed to close the gap (slightly) to move from semi-finalist to automatic finalist this year. Meanwhile On Hold, Starboy and Daded all retain their finalist positions from last year. However the xx were barely top 20 for most of the vote and gained the least amount of votes from the top 9 songs. Starboy too struggled initially before gaining mass support to take 4th place. Faded nabbed the final spot and it was extremely close between the 6th and 7th place with Kungs kicked out in the last few hours of the vote. Good to see 'Into You' keeping up its impressive reputation in this after 'One Last Time' fell from first place in the 2015 one! That 'On Hold' consistency too
Woah, look at Blossoms and The 1975 ('Somebody Else') go both great songs! Dua fever is evident with the 'Hotter Than Hell' and 'Last Dance' rises. Finally the latter is getting more love *.* |

I find it rather amusing that Work From Home falls so much in 2020 when most of the population has been working from home, I wonder if that's a sign of fatigue (song's always been shit anyway)
Also yess at that climb for Charlemagne <3 |

shame about Imany but I was very surprised she made it that high last year to begin with. at least Piece of Me and Never Ever have significant climbs in the bubblin under section.
Lol oops @ Work from Home and in the year when actual WFH had its biggest year (edit: looks like Chez had the same idea lol), it's a bit of a bop but can't say I'm sad about that loss. good to see Faded & Starboy still top 5, shame This Girl couldn't join but at least it's still top 10 alongside Lush Life & Rockabye. yay for TIWYCF climbing in too, it's a good day for Calvin with that alongside Feels climbing into SF slots. |

Christine replacing Fifth Harmony in the top 5 is an absolute win *.* (I don't dislike 'Work From Home' but it's not that good). Yayy for 'On Hold' and 'Starboy' continuing to hold top 5 slots too + quite a few good songs rising into the semi-finals region there! Happy to see 'PILLOWTALK' as an AQ now too.

Now I haven't been too pleased with the results of this year on the whole BUT seeing Vroom Vroom rocket up that high has been the highlight for me Thrilled I nominated it now and that it's being appreciated so much now!

QUOTE 101 [101]Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Logic, Ty Dolla $ign & X Ambassadors - Sucker For Pain = 41pts Why did 'Sucker For Pain', the largest song, not simply eat the other 101 Disappointing to see 'Roses' lose its AQ and none of the 3 twenty one pilots songs make it, or 'All My Friends' which I'd have guessed was higher from memory. Ouch at 'Don't Let Me Down' out of the top 20 too. Nice climb for 'Somebody Else' though (and good to see it as their highest 2016 song now too!); looks like it's gone 75-44-15 across the years. Yay for 'Faded' and 'Starboy' still top 5. |
