Definitely the best single choice left on the album.

Posted by: Cameron 8th January 2015, 10:37 AM

I am hoping this is real as I cannot deal with that horrible Big Sean collaboration being the next single sick2.gif

Posted by: Nick F1 8th January 2015, 10:39 AM

Brilliant choice
Big Sean collab for 5th single please

Posted by: RebelHaus 8th January 2015, 10:59 AM

BRILLIANT choice. Fully adore the song <3

Posted by: Jonjo 8th January 2015, 12:32 PM

Yep. This needs to be a single, but I doubt it will impact much outside of the US now. sad.gif Especially with 'Love Me Harder' under performing and not even making top 40 cry.gif

But still, we're getting a video biggrin.gif - Youtube video to the song, embedded into the first post.

Best news I've heard all week. cheer.gif

ADORE this song. I hope it can somehow outperform 'Love Me Harder'.

Posted by: RebelHaus 8th January 2015, 01:10 PM

Aly happy about a single choice!? ohmy.gif you know she's done well picking this then kink.gif

Posted by: Liаm 8th January 2015, 02:04 PM

This is absolutely incredible, probably the best non-single of 2014 to be honest so I'm thrilled they're pushing it <3 Her best song for sure.

Posted by: Cameron 24th January 2015, 09:21 AM

This has now officially been confirmed biggrin.gif

Posted by: Jay ジ 24th January 2015, 09:48 AM

wub.gif The perfect choice, hope it goes on to be a smash here.

A great shame that 'Love Me Harder' has only peaked at #50 in the UK, but it's having an incredibly consistent run, and as of last weekend it had sold 104,000 to date! ohmy.gif

Posted by: Jack 24th January 2015, 10:34 AM

I really need this to be massive for her. So pleased it is a single, probably the best campaign single wise for an album I have seen in a long time. Would honestly class all 4 singles a 10/10 ohmy.gif

Posted by: HausofKubrick 24th January 2015, 11:03 AM

A rare era in which each single released has been better than the previous for me. One Last Time > Love Me Harder > Break Free > Problem

I adore the top 2 and enjoy the final two.

Problem > One Last Time> Love Me Harder> Break Free

two can play at this game kink.gif

That's brilliant! I guess it was more of a streaming hit than a sales hit, but I'm glad it's sold so much either way. Annoying that it only peaked at #50 though.

And for me:

'One Last Time' >>>> 'Problem' > 'Love Me Harder' > 'Break Free'

And it pisses me off I have to put BF last laugh.gif Such a good era singles wise!

Posted by: Liаm 24th January 2015, 01:42 PM

One Last Time >>>> Problem >>>> Love Me Harder > Break Free

Problem is still in my top 10 songs of 2014 so it shows how fabulous this song is *.*

Posted by: JosephJamil 24th January 2015, 01:52 PM

Problem >>>>>> Break Free >>> One Last Time >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Love Meh Harder

OLT could rise higher, the first two have the benefits of loads more listens.

Joseph you are awful x

'Love Me Harder' >>>>>>>>> 'Break Free' > 'One Last Time' > 'Problem'

Posted by: JosephJamil 24th January 2015, 02:10 PM

Love Me Harder is a nice album track but never took me as a potential single, on an album full of great choices. It did well in the US of course though so it did well despite that.

Posted by: J▲hq 24th January 2015, 10:36 PM

Love Me Harder > Problem >> Break Free >>> One Last Time

Love Me Harder is sublime. One Last Time is GOOD but that's about it for me, I don't quite get the fuss.

Posted by: mr_aly 24th January 2015, 10:48 PM

I've been waiting for an official confirmation, yay! biggrin.gif

Problem > One Last Time > Love Me Harder > Break Free

Really love all 4 though, 'One Last Time' would be a winner in a normal ranking where 'Problem' hadn't set such a high precedent.

Posted by: RobinJuanPersie 24th January 2015, 11:15 PM

Problem > Break Free >>>> Love Me Harder > One Last Time

But I love all of them. Problem was by far my favourite song last year.

I quite liked it!

Posted by: Josh. 16th February 2015, 08:57 AM

I thought it was fairly interesting and it did have quite a few things going on but I don't quite understand what was happening really. Also, why was that man with a scruffy beard so intent on following them? laugh.gif

Agreed - you could tell they were on a budget almost.

Posted by: Davidson 16th February 2015, 10:38 AM

That video is truly diabolical. Not even an interesting concept.

Doesn't Ariana know it's rude to turn with your back to the camera? Meh.

Posted by: Jonjo 16th February 2015, 12:10 PM

I loved it. I loved the concept and granted it's one that doesn't lend itself TOO well to being a music video/it needed more dialogue, but the general idea behind it was cute and executed very well I thought. I liked the coloured stuff going on as I thought that gave it an Ariana feel to the video and kinda fits a similar theme to 'Break Free' and stuff.

Posted by: *Tim 16th February 2015, 12:29 PM

What a cheap tacky mess. Absolutely horrific, this song deserve so much more

Posted by: HausofKubrick 16th February 2015, 12:35 PM

Really not liking this video at all i'm afraid. For such a beautiful song, i agree it deserved much more. Or actually, it deserved LESS to let the song speak for itself. The fluff with that comet business distracting from the song? blink.gif

Posted by: Liаm 16th February 2015, 12:48 PM

What a terrible video for an absolutely essential beauty of a song sad.gif They should have either gone absoltuely all out or had a totally simple video, one of those where she's just standing there. Hopefully this can still be a hit, it's easily her best song and it was my fave album track of 2014 so it'll be a fave single of 2015 for me I imagine wub.gif

Posted by: Nelly. S 16th February 2015, 12:54 PM

I thought the video was cute! It would've been nice to see her singing aswell (to the camera) but the effects were nice! I love the found-footage concept of it <3

Posted by: *Tim 16th February 2015, 12:57 PM

even a club video would've worked better

Posted by: SLlewellyn 16th February 2015, 01:21 PM

Nowhere near as bad as the video for "Break Free", but I would've much preferred another "Problem" or "Love Me Harder" video. Fingers crossed it'll be a hit in any case.

Posted by: Jay ジ 16th February 2015, 04:29 PM

I think the video is fairly good. It's something very different to the norm, so it was refreshing in that sense. Simple video/club video would have been fine, but more of the same (which probably would have drawn complaints & moans too, let's be honest). I think a seemingly "odd" video like this will be more of a talking point and draw more attention to a song that's being released late into the album era.

Break Free is my favourite video of the four! laugh.gif I love how over the top it is. The Problem/Love Me Harder videos are relatively dull.

Posted by: Cody Slayberry 16th February 2015, 04:37 PM

Looks like the concept for the video of "Never Say Never" by The Fray tongue.gif

Posted by: mr_aly 16th February 2015, 08:36 PM

Oh that is horrible, I'm so disappointed. sad.gif

An epic song deserved better than this.

Posted by: Noahspike 23rd February 2015, 12:33 AM

This song. wub.gif

Having not heard the album, I never would have thought anything on it could top 'Love Me Harder' but this is putting up a good fight currently. I just played it four times in a row and sat at my desk in a trance instead of doing my assignment. mellow.gif

Posted by: Liаm 24th February 2015, 11:16 AM

Utterly obsessed with this again like you wouldn't believe wub.gif What an astounding song, it just might be my fave song since Euphoria!! It just gets better and better, I knew when I first heard it on the album leak it was special but Jesus <3

Posted by: Jonjo 22nd March 2015, 04:14 AM

Her Celine Dion is FANTASTIC!

<3

---

This song is seriously one of my favourite songs ever. It's my favourite song since 'Euphoria' and that's a HUGE thing. It just has IT. Whatever it is I need for a song to click with me, this has it. It's flawless. Everything from the build to her vocals to the tempo of the song to the lyrics to the production... just everything! (Did I say, everything enough?)

Posted by: Robot 30th March 2015, 01:26 PM

I'm really not getting it like you guys sad.gif It's a good song but for me it's a definite step down from the first three singles, all of which I really love. This feels a bit incomplete, quite tinny production and one of the worst videos I've seen in a long while. It's by no means a bad song, but for all the love you guys have been throwing at it, I expected it to be a little less... basic?

Posted by: barbaric_dan 22nd April 2015, 02:25 AM

Indeed and it'd also be great to see it become her fourth (or fifth including 'Bang Bang') top 10 US hit from the album as it's currently #13 on the Hot 100. I've a feeling that'll be its peak or it'll just fall short though with airplay seemingly peaking now, unless she has a performance or something lined up soon (maybe the Billboard Music Awards in a few weeks?).

I've been playing this song loads over the last few months and it remains spectacular. heart.gif

Agreed! A BBMA performance would be wonderful to see, too! wub.gif

The song is one of those rare songs that just seems to be better the more I listen to it and I can't just listen to it once, it has to be multiple times in a row. It's fast becoming one of my all time faves. I've not felt this way about a song since 'Euphoria'!

Posted by: Euphorique 26th April 2015, 02:36 AM

I agree, its not in your face, its that subtle charm that creeps in with several plays and then bam, it just hits you hard. Very atmospheric song that complements her voice really well. A hopeless love song full of longing and nostalgia biggrin.gif

https://instagram.com/p/2UJ5A_jo3X/, apparently.

I'm so sad that the singles bar "Problem" underperformed in the UK. This is one of my favourite albums of the last year or so and the singles have been so excellently chosen. She was really screwed over by the release strategy for "Break Free" though unfortunately which I guess prevented further support for "Love Me Harder" and now "One Last Time". I'd have loved "Break Your Heart Right Back" to be released (my personal favourite on the album) although I'm guessing she will move onto the third album sooner rather than later.

Posted by: Jonjo 5th May 2015, 11:37 PM

Is that really all?! LMAO. Omg. But as long as it's helping this song out, I'm not going to complain!!

BF was/is a big hit despite it's shoddy peak tbh and LMH was huge despite never going top 40 (and received great airplay too iirc!). OLT's release has been pushed back to beginning of June I think so there's still time for it to be a hit (I really believe it will go top 40 at least for a week!) and possible promo too as she'll be on tour over here at that point!

I'll believe you if and when it happens with regards to "One Last Time". This album really should've been her Red moment.

Posted by: barbaric_dan 6th May 2015, 06:39 AM

Her thing was lack of promo here really

Posted by: Rush 6th May 2015, 07:09 AM

Nah I really think 'Break Free's total mess of a release was the problem. She's had no trouble in Australia ('Love Me Harder' and 'One Last Time' both top 20 hits) where I'm not aware of any difference in promo, even in Sweden she seems to have done better than the UK.

It's a shame, I don't even like 'Love Me Harder' but she's undeniably put out a great set of singles. One of the best pop breakthroughs of the last 5 years, I would say.

It's #16 on iTunes now! I can't believe it. It'll certainty out-peak 'Love Me Harder' at this rate. Though it might not out-sell it. 'Love Me Harder' as that had like 100 weeks in the top 75 (though not going top 40)

Wow, this hasn't half got a move on! There must be something else, I can't see that a 2 day old Kendall Jenner video is still having that much of an impact. I must admit, I haven't got the huge hype this has had and it's still my least favourite single of hers, but it does continue to grow with every listen and I'd be delighted for such a feel good pop song to do so well.

Album - 100k

Problem: 612k
Break Free: 335k
Love Me Harder: 176k
One Last Time: 140k

'One Last Time' will almost certainly go silver, and 'Love Me Harder' should do the same before the year ends.

I think a similar question came up before and the general sub forum chosen is the one that the artist usually fits into to keep all of the artist's threads in the same sub (apart from when they're featuring I think)

Whether it's a hit or not (it IS), that REALLY doesn't matter at this point. It's a beautiful song and deserves all the attention it's getting.

I remember it being up for free on iTunes before release too.

Yes I've still got it from that

Number 1 on iTunes. Went from 0.44 to 1.00 on Kworb in about an hour!

I've been playing One Last Time all this evening, I always had it as a rather nice song but it really is quite amazing. It leaping up the iTunes charts feels fitting.

I said in the iTunes thread, but this is really challenging for my absolute all time fave. It was always right up there but the tragic events have really brought out the lyrics and feeling, it's really SUCH a special song with so many layers wub.gif I knew from first listen it was one of those songs that would really stay with me, and it's just been given new life. It's a shame it's not in better circumstances sad.gif

New peak of #11 this week! wub.gif

Sold pretty much 30k in 2 days! Fantastic stuff and it's great seeing the public latch on to an amazing cause! wub.gif

Hopefully it can go top 10 and beat the mindless drivel that's currently in there. <3

Glad it's repeaking after what happened but I still don't like it atal l. Very beige.

Officially a charity single and a "Charity Version" has been released to iTunes!

This has spent 50 weeks in the UK charts so far and is now her longest charting single in the UK! wub.gif

Certified 2x platinum in the UK!

(1,200,000+ sales)

Hadn't realised it was well over a million (even with the new interest in it last year)! That's great ohmy.gif

That is great news, I had not realised myself ohmy.gif

I think the newfound interest did help it. I kinda expected that it would reach 1 mil eventually bc the album has been out for so long and that combined with the One Love Manchester stuff helped boost the single's standalone sales.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 25th February 2018, 11:02 PM

It seems surreal that it's now a 1.2m seller, but keep in mind it had achieved a gold (400k) accreditation already before the Manchester incident. Plus it was actually huge last year with its renewed interest.

Fully deserved though, it's such a behemoth of a track.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 16th July 2019, 11:00 PM

I had no idea it had already sold 400K before the incident happened.

Even without that happening it was a smash! And that was before streams were like huge wasn’t it so a good chunk of that 400K were possibly paid for sales.

Anyways what a song this is.

Never picked up much on this at the time but the music video is a bit unsettling now given how the song is associated.

Well, this seems to have been ignored in End of Decade review lists, but the OCC have revealed the top 100 biggest selling singles and albums of the decade in the UK and this is Ariana's sole entry in that! It appears at #82. A worthy song to hold the title of her biggest UK smash heart.gif

I guess this includes 'Bang Bang' - an Ariana era even spawning 4 singles now feels like an alien concept laugh.gif gorgeous song anyway wub.gif

It does improve with every listen but BMB would be the better single

Reading through the thread and this one made me laugh.

I'm forever thankful you don't manage artists careers!

Experiencing a climb on iTunes due to a show called 'Starstruck' (premise similar to 'Stars In Their Eyes' - three girls were dressed as Ariana singing this):

47 NEW
Ariana Grande - One Last Time

Can't seem to find a clip of it online right now but saw it earlier right after The Masked Singer!

9 years since this was pushed as a single! Happy birthday to a beautiful moment in her discography heart.gif
