I'm so conflicted about going to the tour or not.
I've seen M at her dizzying best and I'm convinced that from what I've seen these last few years from her, any concert performance now, will take away from that. My Madame X tickets were canceled, and I was secretly quite relieved; the extortionate ticket prices, the lateness, the labored dancing, and the general lack of empathy for fans were the reason. Also, calling it Celebration (as someone else already mentioned) feels too late, and too reductive. M from even 10 years ago would never have contemplated a GH tour. She was about looking forward, pushing new music (with a nod to her older hits, which were often brilliantly reworked on tour). God, I miss the old M. I've seen M at her very best, and I wonder if I should leave it at that? Anyone else got similar worries? I'm coming across as a bit of a downer, but when you've seen Blonde A, Girlie Show, DW, Sticky and Rebel Heart etc, I just don't know if this version of M is worth the pain! :-) BTW, I'd still pay £500+ to see M rock up on stage (on time), sit on a stool, and just sing - that will never change. |

Ok even just watching that trailer and I'm really wanting to go I've been swayed so easily. I think if the dates align for me, I'll try to go for it despite my doubts.

As expected, Madonna has announced dates for Madonna: The Celebration Tour, in a viral video with a wink to her 1990 film Truth or Dare. The video features Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Diplo, Bob the Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Meg Stalter, Eric Andre and culminates with Amy Schumer daring Madonna to go on tour and perform her four decades of mega hits.
The singer will rise to the challenge beginning on July 15, with a tour that will be highlighting her unmatched catalog of music from the past 40-plus years, according to the announcement. It will also pay respect to the city of New York, where her career in music began. Produced by Live Nation, the 35-city global tour will kick off in North America on July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC with stops in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and more before making its way to Europe, where she will hit 11 cities throughout the fall, including London, Barcelona, Paris, and Stockholm, among others. The tour will wrap in Amsterdam on December 1 full dates appear below. I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for, Madonna says in the announcement. Bob the Drag Queen (a.k.a. Caldwell Tidicue) will be the special guest on all dates of the tour. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, January 20th at 10am local time at madonna.com/tour. Citi is the official card of the tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning today (January 17) at 2 p.m. local time through January 19 at 6 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. Legacy members of Madonnas Official Fan Club will have a pre-sale opportunity beginning on January 17 at 12 p.m. ET through January 18 at 5 p.m. ET for all North America based shows and from 9 a.m. GMT/ 10 a.m. CET to 5 p.m. GMT/ 6 p.m. CET on January 18 for U.K. and European shows. I did get caught up in the hype of her doing a greatest hits tour so was tempted to get tickets before the tour was announced, but I just cba fighting to get tickets to one date, especially in London where Id have to fork out on travel and accommodation too.

Theres a big gap between dates. Is there anything else on at the O2 during the following days? If not, I wonder if theyre just waiting to see how ticket sales go before deciding on extra dates
