Looks like something from Demi Lovato will be out soon. The letters SNS have been updated on her social media.
Is she going to drop something on tomorrow's New Music Friday
If she's got something in the line of Confident or Cool For The Summer then I'm looking forward to a bop but otherwise she can keep it tbh
Omg hype she always delivers *.*
I don't have any recollection of the existence of Body Say whatsoever, so I hope this is more along the lines of Cool For The Summer (or even Heart Attack if she insists on going powerful again).
SNS - SORRY NOT SORRY?
JULY 11
If I was to compare the latest 3 seconds to anything, it gives me Dua Lipa - Hotter Than Hell teas
she actually looks really amazing on the cover, can't wait to hear this!
You have to laugh at that cover though. She looks beautiful but I've never seen so much airbrush in all my life 😂
Her left arm and the glitter reminded me a tad of this meme.
I can already tell Ryan's going to drop song lyrics into so many sentences 😭😭
sorry not sorry
On a Tuesday?
Can see this easily being posted as a reaction to posts in here based on the title itself should be good.
So hyped now we know the title and date *.*
Rumours are it is a Bonnie McKee co-write, Demi coming for her Teenage Dream *.*
I've stayed up hoping this comes out in like 3 minutes (and not 63 minutes!), new releases usually come out at 11pm ET on Fridays
Supposedly it's premiered somewhere but can't find it online yet!!
So ready for this, the benefits on being on holiday so it actually comes out at a good time for once!! *.*
Managed to get hold of the iTunes 30 second preview so far, serving some sort of gospel urban sound in the chorus
Apparently it sounds like Kehlani and also sounds like No Problem by Chance The Rapper but I've never heard either so can't comment
I have a link!!!
This is sfg *.*
I have it too!
It's no 11/10 moment on first listen like Skyscraper, Heart Attack and Cool for the Summer all were but its very solid. The chorus is very instant, although my favourite part is the pre-chorus. I don't know if the production is letting it down a bit or if its just the version I have, it feels like it should be more BOOMING.
Still very good and sounds like a grower with its urban gospel sound, and Demi always makes sure her songs go somewhere and she does so again here with some big ad-libs at the end. People who aren't a fan of Demi's vocals certainly won't be a fan of this song.
Rumours are the video is coming soon so I look forward to the full package. Not sure it's a major hit, but will probably do a typical Demi single of low top 20 on the Hot 100 (purely based on first listen instinct of course), we shall see how it grows!
Another great single from Demi nevertheless, would give it an 8/10 at this stage - about on par with Neon Lights.
This is really growing already for me! Had it on repeat and I'd say I'd give it like 9.5/10 atm, I love her vocals on this so much and yeah I agree with your Hot 100 chart prediction for this!
Already preferring this to Body Say but I don't think this will ever touch the three 11/10's that you mentioned for me!
Oddly it reminds me a little of Jess Glynne's Ain't Got Far To Go (but better!)
I can definitely understand the Kehlani/Chance comparisons.
Her voice is painful to listen to though (especially in the chorus), don't think I'll be returning to it...
Anyone else getting painfully reminded of Jessica J?
jessie j and jess glynne comparisons? i'M SCARED TO LISTEN
this is very becky hill isn't it???? i think i like it????
Bleughhhhhhhh
This is way too screechy and shouty for me.
Hopefully it grows but really not feeling it on first listen.
This is pretty good, It's certainly no Heart Attack
Def get the Jess Glynne 'Ain't Got Far To Go' comparison. Just with more oompf. I like it. It's catchy. I'm not sure if it's a hit or not, but hopefully it does something.
Already 13 on UK iTunes. Will go top 5 for sure by tonight.
This is literally Chance's 'No Problems' with some Kehlani style verses thrown in for good measure.
I have to say I am enjoying it though due to me loving 'No Problems' so much.
I like it on first listen but could either grow to love it or the complete opposite I feel
This just doesn't suit her voice, really disappointed It would suit a smoother voice like Kehlani herself, Demi's power works on big pop songs but it comes off as screechy in this :/ Maybe it will grow but for now I'm not fussed.
She should be sorry for the way she just raped my ears. Are we sure she wasn't switched out for a dying cat on this?
This is awful, even for her I agree with others, the vocals come across as screechy and the song has nothing going for it. She finally gave me a couple bops last era so I'm disappointed
I really enjoy this actually, but I'm also a fan of her screech-y vocals. I agree it's not her strongest lead single, but I think it's a nice change of pace for her. I'm interested to see the video and how the album's release will go down.
This is so disappointing
I wish Instruction was her actual lead single. Even Body Say was better than this.
I normally love her vocals too but this just sounds like Jessie J We knew she was going down a more R&B route but Body Say did that just fine because her vocal style for that was just more sensual and restrained to suit it, but she sounds like a screaming goat at places in this..
well I was going to listen to this because Instruction is great, but if she's reverted back to her screechy self then I'm not interested. :|
This is really good!! Can kinda understand some of the criticisms in here but I don't think the vocals in the chorus are bad at all. The verses are better though I'd say.
US 01. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry
UK 06. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry
This is VERY Kehlani! Not a bad thing though, love Kehlani. I just find Demi's voice too screechy in the chorus. But the verses are fab
This is quite good I guess - I think it'll do similarly to Ain't My Fault by Zara did, I can see myself hating this eventually.
The Bryson Tiller song of the same name is much better.
Her voice
No thanks to it all
Hasn't Demi's voice always been rly annoying tho? It's alright tbh and I'll probably go back to it a bit but I'm never going to love it like most of her songs for me - they just don't click with me (aside from Skyscraper )
The lyric video has premiered via Demi's Instagram live story believe it or not! It's quite clever actually
I actually quite like this now HELP ME
This is growing on me a fair bit too tbh but I think it's still the weakest of her singles for me, Neon Lights is probably next at like a 7.5/10 and the rest are 8+ as her singles discog is so strong! I'm getting used to the chorus a bit more so it might at least leapfrog Neon Lights.
Not bad.
Demi and Selena just had the cutest exchange on Twitter!
https://twitter.com/ddlovato/status/885913273228558336
Don't be all ATRL on us Martyn! Let's just imagine this is a cute spontaneous exchange from two former best friends who were our childhood stars
Sounds a little average but it's alright.
I gave this a second proper listen and I actually really like it!
This seems to be doing VERY well on Spotify and having surprising longevity in both the UK and the US so far, I think this could become her biggest hit!
I couldn't actually get through it on first listen. Those vocals had my ears BLEEDING.
After initially writing this off, it's growing on me rapidly, such a good song!
I'm also loving this now! It's a real anthem and I actually like her vocals for once Maybe I'll actually get behind her this era, I feel slightly ashamed tbh
This incredible, she slays! It is an awesome empowerment anthem. Tell them haters I'm sorry I ain't sorry!
Screaming that Hannah Lux Davis has used the same neon colour schemes yet again in this video but I do love neon so it's fine by me! Really enjoyable video, I thought the talking interludes would annoy me but there isn't that much and it extends the love party feel. This video would have been even more suited to Cool for the Summer than the (great) video that it got.
And the ending is iconic!
(Video will be on YouTube in an hour and is already out on Apple Music US)
And her current image and styling is her best ever
I really like her looks in that video, but omg that screechfest of a chorus, I cant
The video does it's job nicely, it's nice to see her looking so confident too. The song is massively growing on me too, it might have been a bit nicer on the ears if she had reined it in a bit but it's fun to lip sync to if I'm being honest () and it's well catchy so I can't complain.
However, I'm not so keen on the product placement in the video or the talking clips, at least pause the song in the background and insert other clips, don't just talk over it!
I guess the talking will stop anyone YouTube ripping it!
PARIS HILTON
The song is trash though.
Love the video!
I liked the bit at the end.
I watched the video because I thought I'd try and give the song another chance...NO. JUST NO. How can anybody possibly listen to that and enjoy it? It sounds like Jessie J on a bad day
(I love Demi normally, so I'm just really disappointed )
All Demon videos just feel the same.
DENA*.*
Sorry not sorry
stop.
I swear the SNS video is just a crapper version of the CFTS vid?
Demi just seems like she is going through a bit of an identity crisis right now...
I'm not really sure she's ever had a musical identity except for her first 2 albums which were an extension of her Camp Rock identity. She hasn't really stuck to a sound from 3rd album onwards, just high quality but admittedly quite faceless pop bar Skyscraper. But Demi's fantastic vocals (even if not to everyone's tastes) overcome the sometimes generic material to make it a Demi song.
Selena's found her identity very well since Heart Wants What It Wants but I did find Revival a bit samey and less appealing than her pure pop with The Scene. I never get bored with Demi as you never know what to expect next.
Also I am dying at the Paris Hilton, Jamie Foxx and Wiz Khalifa(?) cameo's
Tbf I think this is more her thing, she always said she wanted to do a more R&B album. But I don't feel it suits her as much, her voice just isn't really right for it.
I must be one of the only ones on here that actually genuinely likes this ? and I'm not really a Demi fan but I'm digging this !
Yeah I absolutely love this, can't get enough right now. Sorry not sorry ()
It's not bad, I do prefer Demi Popato but this is alright and it's nice to hear her go in a different direction (preferably temporarily though)
This is pop tho
I too, am really loving this! Love the vibrant, neon-y colours in the video (my weakness for music videos tbh). She looks so good too!
Surprised more people aren't loving this tbh.
I'm loving it though, the chorus is the type of thing you want to hear when drunk
I'm cringing at this whole thing and the video really is just picking up the scraps from CFTS. She's just... not a star.
The video is good minus the ending. Unnecessary with the current political climate. Lmao. She looks fantastic, there's that. Cameos seemed a bit unneeded.
Song: 5/10
Video: 6.5/10
Rock Version featuring Slash is out today;
