'So Good' is a really great album but a bit of a mishmash of sounds so I'd really like her to see what sound worked best for her in ZL2 and develop that so ZL3 is a more consistent album. Been too long already tbh *.*

Posted by: JosephStyles 30th August 2017, 01:03 AM

Yeah I need her to work on a more cohesive sound for album 3, So Good was fab but a bit all over the place! laugh.gif Only a couple of pre-album singles would be good too, rather than releasing all the best songs before the album's out.

Yeah the singles arrangement was a bit of a mess laugh.gif it doesn't really seems to have affected the albums long term charting positions but I'm sure it would've got off to a better start if it had been released after I Would Like or TG4M. I don't even mind 'So Good' now but it must stand out as one of the strangest single choices of all time lmao, especially when they had TG4M there! (Not really any other singles that weren't released imo)

Zara is working with MNEK again

Plus, according to TEN they are working on release new song this year.

I can see a new Zara release on a feature happening within the next month and she will help promote it when she's touring in the UK.

An X factor performance of the feature while she's here would be fab!

Posted by: SameBoy 3rd September 2017, 08:40 PM

Yeah, i perfectly can see a featuring coming next month, let's hope for a great UK artist that can merge WW. Or as i said before her voice fits so good with EDM/electronic songs. DJ's like Chainsmoker, Flume, Alan Walker, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Alesso... but nothing generic like Guetta's TOFY. coffee.gif

Joey Arbagey is Executive Vice President of A&R at Epic Records. He joined the label in 2014, and oversees the creative record making process for all of Epic’s artists including, Fifth Harmony, Future, Travi$ Scott, and Meghan Trainor.

Posted by: leewallace 9th September 2017, 03:59 PM

All those flops.

Posted by: Andrew. 9th September 2017, 04:01 PM

Some of those names worry me, I don't want her second international era to go the same way as Meghan Trainor's laugh.gif are Epic usually considered a good/bad label??

Posted by: SameBoy 9th September 2017, 04:10 PM

i'm really worried, TEN is the one that need to oversee everything on EPIC.

Posted by: leewallace 9th September 2017, 05:02 PM

Ten are actually a fantastic record label, I guess it's because they put all there attention on Zara.

What's her UK label because they are fantastic too her! I guess it's cause Zara's label know how much the UK stan her that's why she puts in a great amount of promotion here.

Posted by: Cherry. 9th September 2017, 05:28 PM

i'm pretty sure she won't be gone for too long, she's got some really good momentum! another huge collab leading into a solo single early next year would be ideal!

Posted by: SameBoy 12th September 2017, 08:18 PM

She just posted a little message for the fans, saying she is back in studio and explaining why she is so off on her social medias lately.

She is working with Sermstyle who is the producer behind 'Timber', 'Hey Ma', 'No Lie' and others: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sermstyle

Posted by: SameBoy 16th September 2017, 04:24 PM

Timber and No Lie are good songs, so i'm excited.

Posted by: Andrew. 16th September 2017, 04:36 PM

Something like 'No Lie' would work so well for her *.* Judging by who she's worked with so far this might be similar to So Good in that it isn't too cohesive but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, So God was an amazing album and I think she just likes loads of music styles laugh.gif

Posted by: leewallace 16th September 2017, 04:46 PM

She was also in the studio with Joakim Harestad Haukaas

Joseph's wig stolen.

Joakim is also responsible for Tik Tik Boom by Britney, one of few good songs on BJ.

Interview with OCC about the tour but also talks a lot about the new album:

QUOTE
Zara Larsson on her new UK tour and how album two is shaping up: "It's kind of mysterious and a little sexy"

We caught up with the singer ahead of her UK tour to find out what we can expect from her next record.

Zara Larsson is pulling a sickie. When we phone her up for our interview, she tells us she’s spending the day in bed because she’s feeling run down from all her recent travelling. “I’m not very well at the moment, but it is what it is. It’s not like a sick sick day, but my tummy feels funny. I need a good night’s sleep, but I’ll be fine and dandy soon.”

We’d suggest she come up with a better line than that for her manager, but the proof is out there; earlier this week she walked off the stage mid-song at US festival Music Midtown to be sick, only to return straight away to finish her set.

Despite that, she somehow manages to be her usual upbeat and chatty self on the phone: “I am very busy at the moment but I’m fine. It’s a good thing – it would be tragic if I wasn’t [busy]!”

Such determination has undoubtedly got her to where she is today; five Top 10 singles, a Top 10 debut album and now, a 10-date UK tour – her first proper headline tour in country after countless one-off dates.

“I’m actually really excited about these UK shows,” she says with genuine enthusiasm. "In general, England has been so accepting of me. I feel like I’m a part of the UK scene now. I’m excited to do a proper tour.”

You’ve essentially been on one big non-stop world tour since Lush Life took over the world last year. How has your live show evolved since then?

“That’s what I want to do for sure – constantly evolve the live show. I’m always going back into rehearsals and seeing what I can switch up. Not just for the audience but also for me, because, you know, now’s not a good time to be doing the same thing over and over again.

“I want to keep making it a bit more fun and different. I’ve played some festivals this summer – the setlist won’t be too dissimilar to that. I want to tour more though – being on stage and performing is the best part of all of this.”

Your live show is pure energy, and you’ve previously said you’d like to get more into dancing. Can we expect some J Lo-style routines on this tour?

“Ha yes that’s the ultimate goal! I have a personal trainer who said the more you tour, the less choreography you’ll want to do because you’ll get tired. Honestly to me, it’s the opposite! It’s like, you get comfortable with a routine, so you try add more and more to it over time. I look at my dancers and I’m like, ‘okay show me how you do that?’. The show needs to be visual – look good – as well as sound good.”

You’ve released a lot of singles from your debut album, So Good. Please tell us why TG4M hasn’t been one of them?

“I know! Isn’t that weird? I love that song, that song is so good. It deserves better. It’s almost like Lush Life 2.0 - very effortless, and I feel happy when I hear it. I’ve had like, what, eight singles from this album, which makes me feel a huge pressure for the next album, but we’ll see. I hope people still love me when I release that.

“I’m very aware of the fact that Lush Life and Never Forget You gave me a huge push for the album. I want to release an album a year but in this new era, people aren’t really buying albums. To me, it’s not all about sales anyway, other than to make it look good on a poster. I read somewhere I’m the only female artist of the new pop girls who got a certified album, which is so weird! It’s thanks to Lush Life and Never Forget You. I’m really excited for the next project now."

How far into the next album are you?

“I’m gonna say not that far. I started two-and-a-half months ago with MNEK and we wrote two amazing songs. I’m not sure if they’ll make the album yet, but I love to work with him. He is such a blessing to work with. Ever since that session it’s been going super well and I’ve been feeling really inspired.

“Truth be told, I didn’t think writing was fun when I did my first album because I wasn’t good at it. Now I feel more comfortable saying what I want to say. I can express myself a little better. I feel a way bigger part of the process now than I was before, which makes all the difference. I can now go in the studio with writers and say, ‘This is what I want to say and this is what I want it to sound like.’”

You explored a lot of different sounds on So Good. Are you honing in on something more specific for the follow-up?

“I don’t really know to be honest. Maybe I’m exploring or maybe I’m just singing what I like to sing. If someone asked me to describe my music style for us, I wouldn’t know what to say.”

Bangers?

“Ha, right?! I like to listen to a lot of different things, so naturally I’m influenced by that. But then when you work with people like MNEK, of course I want to be inspired by his sound – that’s why I’m working with him! It’s very early but for now, it’s kind of mysterious and a little sexy, but still pop, of course.”

As well as MNEK, have you approached any of pop’s super producers, i.e Max Martin, yet?

“I have worked a bit with the MXM team (owned by Max Martin) recently in LA, and it felt really good. I see Max Martin all the time because he has a studio complex that everybody’s in. Honestly, I wish I could live there. His complex is Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra’s old house. It’s not too shabby I can tell you!

“I haven’t worked specifically with him [Max] yet, but we did a couple of songs and then he called us on Facetime and made some suggestions and changes. He’s definitely always looking over his writers, so he’s very involved. The whole team are great though… it really is pop heaven."

May we request the new album arrives quicker than So Good took to get out please?

“[Laughs] Oh my god, YES for sure!”

Zara Larsson's UK and Ireland tour kicks off in Belfast on October 15 and concludes in Southend on October 28. Tickets and more information can be found on Live Nation's website.

I don't know why OCC are still trying to make out that MNEK is a thing, especially as we've already had an album full of collaborations with him.

Posted by: LeeWallace 23rd July 2018, 10:43 PM

‘Wanna’ has been confirmed for the album, I actual can’t! Permission is far superior! The fact I’ll never likely hear that song in studio makes me heartbroken! I’m guessing ‘Wanna’ missed ‘So Good’ because the sound of it didn’t fit the album exactly!

What does the rest of your year look like?

QUOTE
I’ll jump back into the studio and hopefully release my next single by the beginning of next year, and then I’ll see how “Ruin My Life” goes and how people react to that. It feels really good so far, but in America it takes such a long time before you know how it goes. So we’ll release the second single and drop the album hopefully early spring. With So Good, I felt like I already released all the singles before the album, and then the album came out like, “Here’s my singles... plus, like, three songs.”

That...makes it sound like she's going to follow the exact same strategy for this lol

She’s supporting Ed Sheeran in Europe.

Posted by: TheGrinch 6th February 2019, 08:37 PM

Ariana duet is apparently in the works *.*

Posted by: TheGrinch 12th February 2019, 10:27 AM

Looks like 'Don't Worry About Me' has been scrapped as single two as Zara has claimed that her label don't like it, she sounds quite fed up on twitter. This is the same label that pushed for 'So Good' as a single and didn't like 'Lush Life' and 'Never Forget You'. She needs to leave Epic as soon as possible. 'Ruin My Life' has been a good pop radio hit smash but she's getting no promotion for 'Ruin My Life' and in all honesty, it could have went top 50 in America.

Epic are more aware of urban artists hence why all their pop artists are pushed down a more urban pop route (meghan, 5H, jlo)

Single two truly needs to hurry up, it’s peaked in america and is falling at an incredibly worrying rate on US radio.

Confirmed for Radio 1 Big Weekend

Posted by: SameBoy 4th March 2019, 06:30 PM

New songs confirmed!!

- "Pill For This": up-tempo airwaves banger
- "Clubben": downtown nightlife anthem.
- "Wake Up": the great climactic swooning ballad, the one that might’ve pricked the ear of her other heroes, Whitney Houston or Celine Dion.
- "Nobody’s Home": her very favourite she’s recorded so far. When Zara talks about her songs, her eyes light up. ‘That song is a little heartbreaker,’ she says. You can see the shiver down her spine at sniffing out an inarguable hit.

So I'm guessing 'Don't Worry Bout Me' will be released in the next three weeks, she's shooting the music video next week! I'm expecting a 29th March release.

Posted by: Wall 22nd July 2019, 12:47 AM

Out late summer / early fall

Confirmed that there’s going to be no features (she didn’t want any)

Pushed back until 2046 next year.

When you thought your album was coming out 2019 but due to not feeling satisfied it probably wont so youre going right back in the studio again ~sorry~ yall be like disappointed but not surprised.

I try to not feel pressured about it. To not overthink too much and not listen to others opinion about what i shouldnt do i what i should do. But its really hard to be a popsinger, at least when you want to be mainstream, because you get so judged on every release. Its like every song i drop has to be a single, or at least people think it is, and its not like that. Its hard to do things "just for fun" and try things. At the same time, i dont want people to forget about me lol. I mean, ive always said i wanna put out an album a year and... Well. But besides that, i want it to feel PROUD of my songs and my work. I want to put songs on there that i LOVE and im just not there yet. I promised myself to not compromise my music and I f***ing wont.

Posted by: tommie 25th August 2019, 04:13 PM

Well, duh. I said it when All The Time flopped that her next release would be pushed to Q1 2020 at least. No way they were going to put another track out in Q3/4.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 25th August 2019, 04:49 PM

*pretends to be shocked*

Posted by: Wall 25th August 2019, 06:06 PM

Tbf it sounds like Zara’s decision rather than her labels but if she released the album now it would bomb horrifically but her epic contract would be over.

Posted by: Wall 25th August 2019, 06:07 PM

Queen of not putting songs on her album that her label want

Posted by: Jack 26th August 2019, 01:07 AM

Shame as 'All The Time' is probably my favourite by her now!

Posted by: Juliano 27th August 2019, 07:36 AM

I'm open to her whacking the songs she's released on the end of a deluxe version, but they can't be paid dust like that.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 27th August 2019, 11:43 AM

Hmm

I’m not surprised by this at all.

I take it it’s got more to do with the tracks underperforming than her not liking them though.

2020 is a much better time for her to release though. If she released leading up to Q4 she’d probably miss the top 20 where as in Q1 or even Q2 2020 she stands a chance of at least matching or bettering her debut peak wise.

What she needs imo is another Symphony like feature hit. Her solo songs atm aren’t cutting it.

She has a lot of potential. Her album “So Good” showed bags of promise for me. But her last three solo tracks have all been a huge step down from anything on that album.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 30th August 2019, 10:42 AM

It's hard to really see the situation improving at this point.

Posted by: Juliano 31st August 2019, 04:10 PM

The 2nd album curse is real (of course in this case I'm talking international 2nd).

Posted by: Jordan Lee 31st August 2019, 05:40 PM

I think she was one of those people who people bought based on the strength of the song.

I don’t think she has a big fanbase who are loyal fans / stabs in the UK. If she did I think she’d have at least made the top 40 with her last two singles.

The material just isn’t good enough.

Posted by: Juliano 28th September 2019, 01:08 PM

So she confirmed she is aiming for release early 2020, so Autumn 2021 confirmed! laugh.gif

Posted by: Wall 28th September 2019, 01:17 PM

I can see Zara releasing a single before the end of the year with album coming January, especially with all the Xmas tours she’s doing

Posted by: Wall 8th October 2019, 03:26 PM

Zara’s confirmed that the single she wrote with Victoria Monet with Ariana vocals will be on the album and it’s a mid tempo song.

Posted by: Wall 8th October 2019, 03:27 PM

Zara will also be appearing on the Pete Tong Ibiza classics. Zara coming for those Ibiza stans *.* I wonder what the song will be tbh

Posted by: Wall 25th October 2019, 01:30 AM

She’s dyed her hair ginger

Let me unstan

Bye then.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 13th January 2020, 03:18 PM

So is this any closer to happening?

Id be here for a new album by her I’m confident she can still bring it back with the right single / collaboration.

Posted by: Wall 13th January 2020, 03:30 PM

She’s currently on vacation in Jamaica. She’s saying she’s chosen between four songs for the next single but hopefully we get a collaboration with a high profile artist and some new music around the same time.

Posted by: Wall 18th January 2020, 04:53 PM

There’s a studio version of Little Mix’s Do You Think About Us that has leaked, she turned it down for So Good!

Posted by: Juliano 18th January 2020, 06:52 PM

I like how she sounds on it, would have been a wonderful album track.

Posted by: Cameron 18th January 2020, 09:24 PM

Oh my!

Posted by: Wall 18th January 2020, 11:24 PM

I still will never forgive Zara for turning down closer with chainsmokers and this is what you came for with Calvin Harris

she has taste

agree, for are terrible songs

Posted by: Jordan Lee 20th January 2020, 11:52 AM

Closer may have been a huge hit but it’s not that good a song tbh.

But I do think she may have suited This Is What You Came For.

Posted by: Wall 4th March 2020, 09:21 PM

She’s been working with Max Martin and Julia Micheals for this album

So apparently she could be on Clean Bandits new track judging by Clean Bandits insta post!

Posted by: Wall 24th March 2020, 05:40 PM

Zara was meant to be shooting her album cover this week and recording a new music video but that has also been cancelled.

Posted by: tommie 25th March 2020, 08:26 AM

Like there's an album to shoot a cover for. kink.gif

Posted by: Wall 27th March 2020, 02:57 PM
