Has it BEEN a YEAR ALREADY? OF COURSE IT FUCKING HAS *rips out 11-month old Alcazar IV drip from veins and reluctantly takes Hero off repeat*

WELCOME BACK BABES PLURAL *.* (Newbies, SCROLL DOWN, I'll be MONOLOGUING for a bit)

God, wasn't 2014 FABULOUS? After the mental anguish and horror of MF 2*13, it ended up being the kind of return to form us wizened old Melodigays had been pining for since a kinder time before Love Generation discovered zebra print and the reject bin marked *BURKE OR BELOW*, and before I had to start manually adding in my own key changes to Melodifestivalen entries (FUCK YOU CHRISTER).

Not only that, it was topped off with a true fairytale ending with the final victory of Sanna Nielsen, the Jesus of Melodifestivalen (impeccable appeal to white people, tendency towards career resurrection against the odds, though more of a propensity to turn wine into water), triumphing over a geriatric masturbating onstage encircled by prisoners - a true SLUTS VS. VIRGINS face-off FOR THE AGES *.*

Anyway, you all know the rest - San TOOK IT HOME with one of the tightest winning margins of all time and then did the Motherland proud with a very respectable third place finish in Copenhagen behind *the* two unquestionable breakouts of Eurovision 2014 - with The Common Linnets the first non-winning non-British entry to go top ten in the UK charts since Minn hinsti dans spent half of 1997 at number one (though if you're one of those heathens that tries to pretend that didn't happen, the last one before that was in 1974), and the contest's biggest media phenomenon since Dana International in Conchita. So it's only fitting that DAME SAN's been rewarded for her STERLING EFFORTS with the presenting gig this year - and not only THAT but lined up opposite this HOT PIECE OF TRADE

HUBBA HUBBA

And as presenting line-ups go it certainly beats out ACOUSTIC 'comedy' from Nour El-Rehai's 'we couldn't afford Gina Dirawi again' act and world's worst Swede and passable Kreisiraadio reject, Anders Jansson. Hang your coats up for a second though loves, I need to do INDUCTION for the FRESH MEAT...

NEWBIES, TUNE BACK IN. So, if you're wondering exactly WHAT this beautiful contest is and why on earth it warrants seven separate threads a year, here's how it goes. Melodifestivalen is the Swedish selection contest for Eurovision. HOLD ON, don't you DARE start eyeing that door...

I know what you're thinking - 'EUROVISION? That's TRASH ENOUGH AS IT IS, why on EARTH would I want to watch some GHASTLY preselection where it's probably the SWEDISH EQUIVALENT OF SCOOCH versus the SWEDISH EQUIVALENT OF KAVANA?'. Well, for a start, SHUT UP YOU SELF-LOATHING TOAD, Eurovision is our ANNUAL WEEK OF RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCE. But also, UNLIKE the typical state of affairs in the dearest United Kingdom, the Swedes go ALL OUT in their selection - pulling in some of their biggest stars and their greatest songwriters to bring a true celebration of music - in fact, you could call it a (WAIT FOR IT) FESTIVAL of MELODY.

Anyway, it's so bloody popular in Sweden it actually gets MORE viewers than THE EUROVISION ITSELF - and that's not just the finals, that's the HEAT STAGES. Basically imagine the popularity of the X Factor and Britain's Got Talent at their peaks combined with the essential viewing of an England World Cup Final, the Diana interview and the live coverage of the 9/11 attacks, and you're still NOT EVEN QUITE THERE (literally, if Osama could've weaponised Janet Leon's double money note of shame we probably WOULDN'T EVEN EXIST).

Anyway, each week there are 7 artists per heat (until this year there were 8, but I won't get started on that otherwise I might have an aneurysm from rage RIGHT THIS SECOND). The top two go directly to the final in six weeks' time, third and fourth go to a second chance round (known as andra chansen) in five, and the bottom three have their careers SLAIN in front of a nation and are exiled to the northern wastes of Sweden in shame forevermore as a result (probably). It's all HIGHLY COMPELLING viewing and honestly, your Februarys will never be the same again if you jump on board.

So whether you're just someone who kind of looks forward to the Swedish entry every year at Eurovision or you're the kind of weirdo who can immediately name their top three from MF 1987 at a moment's notice (challengers: obviously Dansa i neon comes first but Fyra bugg och en coca-cola is a CLEAR SECOND and I don't care WHAT you ARJA-FREAKS SAY), I'm expecting you IN HERE and EXCITED all week, every week from here until mid-March. You'd have to pretty much HATE MUSIC to not find at least one or two tracks a year to love, and the average pop fan will probably muster at least twenty tracks a year to be MINCING AWAY TO at their desks while pretending the fan's a wind machine. So yes. JOIN US

01: Molly Pettersson Hammar - I'll Be Fine
Text och musik: Molly Pettersson Hammar, Lisa Desmond, Tim Larsson, Tobias Lundgren, Gavin Jones
Best known for: Finishing 4th in Swedish Idol 2011
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 4.50 / 7/2 / 5th
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 26.00 / 25/1

Jordin Sparks really HIT THE PIES after that career failure...

Old Mol here played the role of Cher Lloyd in her series of Idol, finishing fourth behind the winner who went on to shame themselves in front of a nation (Amanda Fondell), the shy and winsome runner up that went on to have success far beyond what they ever could have expected (Robin Stjernberg), and the one who finished third and went on to become one of the biggest music phenomenons in the world (Moa Lignell) (EDITOR: this overstretched analogy isn't really working and we're not seeing any real Cher Lloyd similarities other than finishing fourth, start again.)

Anyway, we're probably in for something a bit better than Swagger Jagger here, as Molly hasn't done all that much since Idol, yet she's pulled herself the plum spot of opening the whole contest - a slot which has pretty reliably provided one of the more memorable entries of each year and which more often than not ended up doing fairly respectably at the business end of things (Dilba 'shrugging nonchalantly in hunchback from Stockholm bedsit').

Molly's said this is a 'soulful piano-led' track, so we're probably in for some hot vox, and the songwriting calibre here is absolutely top-notch, with PLAY Productions (Larsson och Lundgren) being the geniuses behind Linda Bengtzing's greatest hits, amongst other deeply fabulous Melfest entries (YMMV: Heartbreak Hotel), and Lisa Desmond being behind a few choice cuts from of ALBUM OF THE DECADE Tabu by Timoteij.

Amanda Fondell's failure two years back shows that the Idol tag (or even having a fab track) is rarely enough on its own to get someone through the heats - are Mol's performing chops still up to standard enough to get her through this heat?

02: Daniel Gildenlöw - Pappa
Text och musik: Daniel Gildenlöw
Best known for: Lead singer of Pain of Salvation, who made it to andra chansen in MF 2010 with Road Salt
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 8.00 / 7/1 / 6th
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 67.00 / 66/1

You can probably guess from the photo that Daniel isn't the kind of man who spends his evenings writing essays about how shit Cucumber is (in fact - THE HORROR - I bet he DOESN'T EVEN WATCH CUCUMBER). Adding that to a title bringing back painful memories of the arseclenchingly bad Broder from last year, you're probably thinking this is one probably worth tuning out of, and I will offer NO OBJECTION to such thoughts. Gildenlöw was the lead singer of Pain of Salvation, who made it to andra chansen in MF 2010 with the relentlessly depressing grunge dirge Road Salt - though that was one of the worst MF years of all time so it's not much of a track record to speak of.

These heartstring tugging rock ballad confessional tracks crop up every year, and generally they go either way - for every Broder, Leaving Home, or Jag reser mig igen which smashes in the final you get an En förlorad sommar or an...um...oh.

BE AFRAID

03: Rickard Soderberg och Elize Ryd - One By One
Text och musik: Jimmy Jansson, Karl-Ola Kjellholm, Elize Ryd och Sharon Vaughn
Best known for: He's an internationally-renowned opera gay, she's the lead singer of symphonic metal band Amaranthe
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 2.50 / 6/4 / 3rd
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 15.00 / 14/1 (7th favourite to win)

Now Rickard on the other hand DOES look like the kind of man who could immediately reel off his all-time top five favourite contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race *.* But DON'T GET TOO EXCITED though - we're in for a bombastic rock opera epic here, as you'd EXPECT from a man willing to go out in public with facial hair like that, so your mileage may vary (unless you're Iz in which case READY THE DEFIBRILLATORS).

It's another absolutely stellar songwriting team here - Karl-Ola and Sharon were the writers behind Helena Paparizou's Survivor last year, which basically upgraded pop, and Sharon also played a hand in Agnes - Release Me, which six years on STILL makes your average gay anthem sound like a Stereophonics album track, so the melody here should be up to scratch. I'm crossing my fingers for something a little more Never Forget than Day After Day, though opera crossover isn't a genre especially well known for its success in the past, as Malena Ernman can attest. Can the fat old queen and his suffering hag falsetto their way into andra chansen?

04: Dolly Style - Hello Hi
Text och musik: Emma Nors, Palle Hammarlund och Jimmy Jansson
Best known for: They AIN'T, but the mastermind behind them is YOHIO, who won the televote and finished 2nd in MF 2013 with Heartbreak Hotel and came back to diminishing returns last year with To The End
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 9.00 / 8/1 / 7th
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 81.00 / 80/1

Oh YOHIO, not UNDERAGE GIRLS

Despite being a TORTURED SOUL (fronting tracks written by the people behind Linda Bengtzing and Andreas Johnson), YOHIO seems to have QUITE the preoccupation with Sweden's prime gay pop contest, so he's back for another crack - and surprisingly enough, NONE of Dolly Style are The Artist Formerly Known As Kevin in drag (for once). Second and sixth place weren't enough for YOHIO, so he's hoping his bespoke super-kawaii girl group Dolly Style can do the business.

Yimmy Yansson's on songwriting duties here, so expect a maddeningly catchy scat hook based on repeating a single syllable (think Amanda, or for those with more recent memories, last year's ball-crushingly disappointing schlager throwback Casanova). Given the look doesn't seem especially rocky, we could FINALLY be in for the resurrection of my infamous prediction two years ago that YOHIO would bring something manic, J-Poppy and upbeat 'like a Swedish Play The Game Boy' - or it could end up being just as off the mark as that prediction was and end up being cartoony as fuck. Actually, looking at them, I'm guessing that. Let's call it HALVES and call it the Rockin' The Ride throwback we'd NEVER DARED DREAM OF, and christ knows how that's going to go down.

05: Behrang Miri och Victor Crone - Det rår vi inte för
Text och musik: Behrang Miri, Albin Johnsén, Måns Zelmerlöw och Tony Nilsson
Best known for: Making it to andra chansen in MF 2013
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 2.62 / 13/8 / 4th
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 26.00 / 25/1

Behrang here made a minor splash in the WORST HEAT OF ALL TIME in MF 2013 by crossing over from a glittering career as a socially-conscious librarian (...) to the Melodifestivalen stage with Jalla dansa sawa, which didn't even try to pretend it wasn't a straight-up rip-off of the French Eurovision entry from 2010 (but tried to distract you at least by drafting in Jesy from Little Mix plus twenty stone and Oscar Zia on backing vox). That made it to the soaring heights of andra chansen before being crushed by the pendulous lips of Anton Ewald in the duel stage - so old Bez has decided to go one better by drafting in the ORIGINAL schlager twink, Mans Zelmerlow, to write him a big old urban singalong with a white boy on hook vox.

The pre-contest reviews have all unanimously mentioned Empire State of Mind - whether that's the kind of track that can go all the way in Sweden is another matter, but urban-tinged entries have form in the contest, with Panetoz and Swingfly going direkt in recent years, and Albin/Måns/Nilsson is a songwriter list to DIE for, with Albin having the Swedish summer hit of 2014 with Din Soldat (more on the hook singer Kristin Amparo in a few weeks), and Tony Nilsson being one of Sweden's most esteemed pop writer-producers, doing work for Selena Gomez and Agnes, and a fair few MF entries along the way too. With this team behind him, can Behrang make it straight to the final the second time around?

06: Jessica Andersson - Can't Hurt Me Now
Text och musik: Aleena Gibson och Fredrik Thomander
Best known for: Part of 00s duo Fame, who won MF 2003 and came 5th at Eurovision with Give Me Your Love
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 2.37 / 11/8 / 2nd
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 17.00 / 16/1 (joint 8th favourite to win)

Somebody get me on suicide watch - we've got a MELFEST VETERAN here and this RARELY ENDS WELL

Jess here goes a long way back - like, back to when Fame Academy was actually a PROFITABLE PROPOSITION (OT: did we know David Sneddon wrote Lana Del Rey's National Anthem? I thought he DIED!).

So, back in those dim and distant days of 2002, when half of you were still SHITTING YOURSELVES (and not in the standard MF-adjacent sense) and those of us that weren't were treating stonewashed double denim paired with male crop top vests like they were a hot look (*flashes accusing look at Andreas off Alcazar*), Jess here was entering the Swedish equivalent of Fame Academy WHILE PREGNANT (LOOK AND LEARN FOLCKER). Anyway, she did that at the same time as some OAP called Magnus Bäcklund, and Bert Karlsson (the Swedish equivalent of Pete Waterman, except with the decency to treat Eurovision with a bit of fucking RESPECT) paired them up - and VOILA, we had FAME.

Fame proceeded to enter MF 2003 with hilariously transparent ABBA rip-off Give Me Your Love - genuinely schlager in its LOWEST FORM and probably the closest Sweden has come to entering Eurovision on autopilot. It says it all about how popular they were that in a final as high quality as 2003's (Sanna entering as a lesbian televangelist and TAKING US ALL TO CHURCH! Pernilla Wahlgren dressing up as a Narnian ice queen and dragging along a bloated Jan Johansen for the ORIGINAL Chanée & N'evergreen duo of maximal mutual loathing and MAXIMAL MELODY! Jill Johnson whapping the tits out for a Shania reboot! Afro-Dite SINGING ABOUT CHICKEN DESIRE! The GREATEST ALCAZAR PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME!) that Fame strolled to a landslide victory with barely a hint of struggle (*Pernilla twitches violently in the corner and adds JessAn to reverse bucket list*), before getting the ultimate default 5th placer at Eurovision itself back in the days when bargain bucket schlager used to actually fly in the televotes.

Of course, it was also the time when MF winners used to actually make a habit of trying to defend their title the year after (to, well, barely any enthusiasm ever), so Fame gave it another shot again the year after with Vindarna vänder oss, finishing sixth in the final, and both went their separate ways two years later - and THAT'S when the fun began *.*

Up until this point Jessica had a very carefully cultivated image as Sweden's innocent, likeable girl next door. So you can only imagine the shock when Jess strutted out onstage for her first solo entry in MF 2006 in purple hot pants and practically got her foof out for the nation by slut dropping in slow motion on a chair to a slice of transcendental Kyliepop with Kalla nätter, immediately becoming an eternal icon for Melodigays of a certain age and, of course, going out fifth in her heat, marking it as one of the most ill-advised image transformations of all time. But more on Ellen Benediktson in two weeks...

A second face-saving attempt at MF the year after with disco-influenced Kom (unfortunately not as good as that Kom, though it does feature the word 'sexiblondmodell', so it has THAT going for it at least) crawled its way to andra chansen before getting battered out by Sanna Nielsen's only encounter with AC, and for three years Jessica basically disappeared from the scene. Until 2010...

Heat one, 2010. Jessica's last throw of the dice - three flops and you're out when it comes to the MF veteran game, and if anyone knew that it was Jess. Slutpop had failed her. The Fame sound was long dead, and in any case schlager was very much on the out for MF 2010. The only option left was a big ballad - I Did It For Love, which duly scrabbled Jess into andra chansen (along with Pain of Salvation - Christer, you old dog.) - whereupon she was drawn against an imperious Alcazar with Headlines, whom everyone had expected to sail through their heat until Timoteij shocked everyone by going through directly over megastar Darin (yes, with that Kom). Yet despite being written off by all comers, Jess SANG HER LIFE OUT and on her last chance made it to the final, and in the aftermath scored one of the biggest MF radio hits ever in Sweden with the track, staying on the Svensktoppen radio chart for over two years after the contest.

So, after five years (and not at ALL influenced by the success of Undo), she's back. It's a big ballad, written by previous Sanna and Molly Sandén ballad collaborater Aleena Gibson (ready yourselves for some especially banal lyrics), and this one's definitely going to be hoping there's enough goodwill left over from last time to get Jessica to the final again. But will the Sanna comparisons ring a little too true for a Swedish public never too keen on rewarding coattail riding? You certainly won't want to see my reaction if they don't.

07: Eric Saade - Sting
Text och musik: Arash Fahmi, Fredrik Kempe, Hamed 'K-One' Pirouzpanah och David Kreuger
Best known for: Winner of Melodifestivalen 2011 and third place in Eurovision 2011 with Popular
William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 1.06 / 1/16 / 1st
William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 2.75 / 7/4 (FAVOURITE TO WIN)

Here it is - the first big contender of the year. Johnkm, hands on the table where I can see them. Adam, stop drooling. Robot, put your shirt back on, this isn't the time. Actually, I don't know why I'm saying all that - his new look's DREADFUL! Olly Murs should NEVER be an inspirational look (SHUSH LIAM)

So, if last year's story was sluts vs. virgins, this year's is being built up as TWINKS vs. OTTERS *.* Team Otter will be getting their dues in Week 4, but representing for the Twinks is Eric - one of the more recent Melodifestivalen alumni and probably only joined by Loreen and YOHIO for legitimate MF stars the contest has produced so far this decade with unblemished records.

Eric here was one of the few shining lights of MF 2010, bursting onto the scene with gayed-up Womanizer re-write Manboy (written, of course, by Kempe) with a performance climaxing with Eric being drenched onstage with a shower - instantly confirming to all viewers that Kempe should probably be put on a list (though frankly if you hadn't had your suspicions by that point, you're the kind of person who explains why Yewtree's proving so fruitful) and that Eric was a total star in the making. To say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about his vocals. Or just how much of the star appeal came down to those looks...

A third place finish in MF followed by a sell-out tour, smash album, and Eurovision vote-reading cameo which set gay tongues a-wagging across a whole continent set things up inevitably for Eric's return to MF the year after as the prohibitive favourite on paper before anybody had even heard a note. In Popular, Kempe gave Eric the kind of return track that would have made literally anybody a prohibitive favourite - a glittering Boney M-inspired dance-pop odyssey which sounded like a million discoballs exploding simultaneously and POP ITSELF punching you in the face repeatedly, a point neatly emphasised with the classic gimmick of the shattering glass cage. Decent vocals? Who needs that when you have a SUPERNATURALLY ATTRACTIVE 19 year old being felt up by his backing dancers to one of the most VIOLENTLY FABULOUS BACKING TRACKS OF ALL TIME?! (Giant disco smileys were used with great abandon, obviously.)

Anyway, in one of the greatest pop injustices of all time Popular finished third in Dusseldorf behind an incestuous Azerbaijani duo with about as much sexual chemistry as, well, FAME, and some Italian prick screeching over a generic piano jazz track - one stitching up the televotes and the other stitching up the juries. MORAL VICTOR Eric followed up Eurovision with two massive albums in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and...well, not much since then, aside from a charity single last year. The fanbase is still there, but there's definitely the sense of a career out of momentum and heading in the wrong direction.

Still, Melodifestivalen is a kind mistress to its veterans who have fallen on hard times, and Kempe's a man aware enough of his advancing years to never say no to a hot piece back at his door. So, he's lined up the big songwriting team with an impeccable three-for-three finalist record in last year's MF (Yes We Can, Blame It On The Disco, and Undo) for Eric's return, and we're in for a big brassy uptempo pop track that will almost certainly sound polished enough to walk straight onto the Billboard Hot 100. The question here isn't whether he'll qualify from the heat - with his fanbase, record, and status as one of the biggest popstars Sweden has, it would go down as the biggest MF shock ever if he didn't, not least because as odds stand he's favourite to win the whole thing.

The question is THAT - whether it'll all be enough to beat out the long-awaited return of the ORIGINAL Kempe twink waiting in the wings in heat four. Eric says he's back in it to win it - Eurovision that is, not Melodifestivalen. Will the twinks prevail over the otters in the SEX GOD SHOWDOWN to get him there? Or will there be a metalhead intervention along the way?

-x-

Here's the projected timetable for the week:

Thursday: Reviews of the rehearsals with *possible* thirty second (rather than a minute) clips of the performances. Needless to say if they're that short, take any impressions with a silo of salt - unless they're obviously Hero-level quality and going to change our lives in which case SET HYPERBOLE TO 11
Friday: Clips will definitely be released by then, along with reviews of the second rehearsal and the notoriously hit-or-miss results of the 'gen-rep' poll of audience members at the rehearsals
Saturday: In the afternoon we *should* get 2:30 clips of the songs uploaded to SVT. A livestream of the heat will start at 7pm GMT on svt.se/melodifestivalen

So LET Melodifestivalen BEGIN AGAIN for another year - PREDICTIONS, SPECULATION, and LIFE OR DEATH HYPERBOLE over SNIPPETS OF POP PERFORMANCES *.* GO!

Posted by: Qassändra 5th February 2015, 03:23 AM

I currently want to punch the CEO of BT with great vigour in the throat, so apologies for the delay and lack of links - I'm doing this on my phone but all should be sorted ASAP

Also, PREDICT

EXCITEMENT

DTG: Eric Saade, Behrang/Victor
AC: Jessica A, Molly P-H

I fear this will be an overwhelmingly PENILE year, repeating the same situation that was in 2013 sad.gif

Just in case anyone cares here are a few single covers, save for the big contenders~

Posted by: Qassändra 5th February 2015, 11:55 AM

Has Eric got an ugly cover with a hashtag for Sting?

Posted by: Conderella 5th February 2015, 12:12 PM

I guess Eric got so cocky he didn't even send his song to radios (if that's how that shit works~) because there's like a snowball's chance in hell he's not going DTF so why bother until at least a month later ohmy.gif

Posted by: LexC 5th February 2015, 12:14 PM

I am MOIST! Hoping that Rikard/Elize and Dolly Style give us the first hot messes of the year!

Posted by: Iz~ 5th February 2015, 12:58 PM

I think for my initial predictions I will go with:

DTG: Eric, Jessica A
AC: Daniel, Rikard/Elize
5th: Behrang/Victor
6th: Dolly Style
7th: Molly P-H

It seems really quite open aside from Eric, can't really see any real write-offs although I'm sure that'll change once we get to the clips.

And obviously I'm excited most for Rikard/Elize and Dolly Style from this lot but Behrang's song sounds interesting as well and I'm always up for a rock ballad (as long as it is SLIGHTLY less manipulative than bloody Broder).

Brilliantly enjoyable write-up as ever. Fame's success in 2003 really was incredibly baffling looking back...the Pernilla, Alcazar and Jill Johnson tracks would have been far better winners.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Eric comes up with but Popular is really his ONLY essential song for me. And he hasn't put anything I've listened to more than once out of choice since Hotter Than Fire.

I may be incredibly biased (what I am saying, of course I am!) by his looks but I really think Eric is a great popstar and has had some fantastic songs. OK, his last album was VERY hit and miss (sadly mostly miss) but there were a few gems to take from it.

SAADE TOP 10

1. Popular
2. It's Gonna Rain
3. Hotter Than Fire
4. Imagine
5. Made Of Pop
6. Masquerade
7. Hearts In The Air
8. Boomerang
9. Love Is Callin'
10. Fingerprints

Suitably excited for Jessica and Eric, Molly's clip is great too! I can definitely see myself loving Dolly Style too all things considered... Not the fact they're strongly linked to Yohio ofc but I'm a sucker for anything J-Pop-esque...

Predictions:

DTG: Eric, Behrang/Victor
AC: Molly, Daniel
5th Jessica (I can see her doing a Charlotte Perrelli etc., I would say "unless the song is good" but we've all heard The Girl!)
6th Rickard och Elize
7th Dolly Style

Also sounding strong, very hopeful for this year!

HELLO HI *.*

Pre-Saade I'd rank them like this based on those clips

1. Dolly Style
2. Rikard och Elize
3. Molly
4. Behrang & Friend
5. Jessica
6. Daniel

I don't think Jessica is getting out of this heat (save for a nailed performance and scraping 4th) but those four (soon to be five) tracks at the top are all very strong in their own way.

Posted by: LexC 5th February 2015, 05:37 PM

Sounds like a heat winner but not an MF winner to me. If I had to predict now I'd say

DTF; Eric, Behrang
AC: Dolly Style, Molly
5th: Rikard och Elize
6th: Jessica
7th: Daniel

Posted by: Qassändra 5th February 2015, 05:40 PM

LOL

As if Jessica's finishing FUCKING SIXTH!

Posted by: LexC 5th February 2015, 05:40 PM

Also, to be frank, the one thing you don't want to highlight/expose in an Eric Saade performance is Vocal Capacity and that clip makes him sound very exposed.

Posted by: gooddelta 5th February 2015, 05:41 PM

Sounds like a decent album track. Slightly underwhelmed from the clip.

Posted by: Qassändra 5th February 2015, 07:17 PM

Fuck me, Eric looks like ALVARO ESTRELLA! He really has totally gone to pot the last few years.

The track actually sounds like it'd be alright, if it weren't for those FUCKAWFUL lyrics and whiny vocals. CHEERS KEMPE

Posted by: Qassändra 5th February 2015, 07:25 PM

RANKING

1. Dolly Style
2. Jessica Andersson
3. Behrang Miri
4. Eric Saade
5. Molly Pettersson-Hammar
6. Rick och Elize

7. Daniel G

Prediction:

DTG: Eric Saade, Behrang Miri
AC: JessAn, Rickard och Elize
05: Dolly Style
06: Molly P-H
07: Daniel G

Any out of R'n'E, Dolly and Molly could take that last AC place though I reckon. The top three feel fairly nailed on in any order though.

Posted by: Robot 5th February 2015, 07:33 PM

I'm kinda glad in a way, I mean, I had hyped myself up for something huge from Saade but in terms of the contest, I really don't think that is gonna win it so it makes things more exciting.

Posted by: Robot 5th February 2015, 07:38 PM

RANKING on 30 seconds:

1 Dolly Style
2 Eric Saade (i actually do still really like it, it's just not as big as I wanted)
3 Rickard & Elize
4 Behrang Miri
5 Jessica Andersson
6 Molly Pettersson-Hammar
7 Daniel Gildenlow

Strong sounding semi though!

2. Eric Saade
3. Rickard och Elize

Odd because that's pretty much how I felt. Maybe Dolly Style/Jessica swapped. This is actually a really weak heat. On first listen I only liked Elize/Rickard and Molly, but we all know Saade will go DTF by a landslide.

Posted by: AdamAloud 6th February 2015, 01:29 PM

I'm amazed Behrang Miri's song is second last in that poll, I'm sure he would be in the top 4. (But hopefully not at the expense of Dolly Style </3)

And 'Sting' WAS in my head this morning at work, so I'm hopeful for hearing the full thing tomorrow.

Posted by: Liаm 6th February 2015, 01:30 PM

Yeah I doubt Sting is a winner... Certainly not a runaway obvious winner. But I'm kinda glad, it makes the competition more exciting because it's a bit more open now, unless Mans pulls off a killer.

Posted by: Silas 6th February 2015, 07:32 PM

Very firmly #TeamOtter but I do enjoy Saade's music.

I'm still not over the injustice that was Popular's 3rd place. I could cope with it, like I've handled Sanna not winning, if the songs above it were actually decent. They were just so lifeless and shit though. Heart crushing.

As for the Clips:

Molly - With those writers it was clearly going to be brilliant. I hope it does well
Daniel - I wish I could unhear that dreadful shite
Rickard/Elize - THIS IS AMAZING
Dolly Style - HELLo Hi NO.
Behrang - I expected so much more from Albin and the Otter, but it just doesn't deliver. Shame because I'm still obsessed with Din Soldat.
Jessica - Getting 'Why Am I Crying' vibes from this. Ready the gas and air!
Saade - Ok. It's no Manboy or Popular.

LQ recording of the full 'Sting' rehearsal!

I'm sorry but I love it, sounds like such an anthem and that brass breakdown middle 8 bit is fabulous! I can understand that the 'Stiiiiiiiing' bit will grate on people but aside from that it's a fab pop tune, and that bit doesn't bother me anyway.

Posted by: Robot 7th February 2015, 02:36 AM

The 'stiiiiiiiing' wouldn't be annoying if he could sing it, but his voice actually sounds so horrible on it. As a whole song though, from what I can hear, that does sound better in the whole package but it's still not quite what I wanted.

Posted by: Robot 7th February 2015, 01:53 PM

And, okay, so Sting is really quite fabulous after the initial disappointment, but the studio version as predicted does soften his harsh, painful OH STIIIIING live wail.

YOU'RE FORGIVEN SAADE. JUST.

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th February 2015, 02:00 PM

Predictions based on the 2:30 versions

DTG: Eric, Molly
AC: Rickard/Elize, Dolly Style
5th: Jessica Andersson
6th: Behrang/Victor
7th: Daniel

'Can't Hurt Me Now' is very MF ballad by numbers, which is brilliant but I'm unsure if Sweden wants that again.

Posted by: LexC 7th February 2015, 02:04 PM

Hello Hi and One By One are fabulous in Studio! And Sting is very good as well (I agree with the general sentiments here that it was always going to be better in studio).

Right now I'm thinking

DTF: Sting, One By One
AC: I'll Be Fine, Hello Hi/Can't Hurt Me Now
5th: Can't Hurt Me Now/Hello Hi
6th: Det rar vi inte for
7th: Pappa

Posted by: Qassändra 7th February 2015, 04:36 PM

FABULOUS heat

01 - Dolly Style - Listening to this felt like a moment of spiritual redemption for MF and an apology for all the po-faced bollocks we've had to go through the last few years. Easily the most fun debut entry since Le Kid, and it plays like a celebration of some of the great joys of MF past (Caracola, Mirakel, Velvet) and gives the same kind of sugar high we only got from Blame It On The Disco last year and Rockin' The Ride and the Wives the year before - who knew YOHIO could birth such beauty? I am already stitching my Molly P-H voodoo doll for when this inevitably goes out in the first round

02 - Eric - I can't deal with his last-roll-of-the-dice BBC Three presenter act now he has a horrid withered face but somewhere in a coke haze in America Zayn and Liam just savaged their agent for not getting to this first.

03 - Ell & Rikki - As long as Rickard can rein in his big ham and Yewtree tendencies and they can manage a basic semblance of tenor fag + soprano hag chemistry this sounds like a pretty safe 'Björn & Björnetta in the Umeå suburbs' mum vote qualifier. I kind of don't really know what to expect from the last thirty seconds though, it doesn't really sound from the 2:30 clip like it has anywhere left to go.

04 - Jessica Andersson - I could play the entirety of this song in my head apart from the absence of a key change, and we all know how much that formula hurt the Wives. It'll need enough Björnettas to sneak through an extra vote and hide it on the phone bill to stand a chance but at least she'll probably give herself better odds than Shirley by not turning up looking like the recycling

05 - Behrang och Victor - I'd sleep with them both in a second, but this kind of production where the whole focus is placed on the lyrics in the verses only works so much for me for foreign language rap (I'd have preferred a Panetoz type production where I could've at least satiated myself with feel good vibes while he talked about how hard life is as a socially conscious librarian). The hook's nice enough but this is basically 2:20 of filler until that absolutely GARGANTUAN key change which kind of puts the whole of MF 2013 to shame. THIS IS HOW YOU SOUND REAL WHILE PAYING LIP SERVICE TO WHAT YOU HAVE ENTERED

06 - Molly P-H - I kind of couldn't really care less until the middle eight and that money note which I really hope gets a JANET LEON style botching.

07 - Daniel Gildenlow - fucking hell no wonder he left you

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th February 2015, 04:45 PM

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 04:58 PM

I'm blown away by just how FANTASTIC One By One is in studio form. It's like Amaranthe does Within Temptation minus any screaming; I was actually trying (but failing) to rein in my excitement because Elize hasn't been outstanding away from Amaranthe before, but this is brilliant. It MUST go DTF.

Hello Hi is great also, Daniel doesn't sound THAT bad honestly

But I would still go:

1. Elize & Rickard
2. Dolly Style
3. Eric
4. Behrang & Victor
5. Jessica
6. Molly P-H
7. Daniel

as none of the others could be described as whiny - good heat. I'm surprised I like Sting actually but it sounds pretty current, but then I am still looking forward to seeing how well he messes it up live.

Prediction after hearing all the 2:30s...

DTG: Eric, Rickard/Elize
AC: Molly, Jessica
5th Dolly Style
6th Behrang/Victor
7th Daniel

Hello Hi could easily go AC too I think, and I'd be inclined to think it'd be at the expense of Jessica. I agree it's very similar to Why Am I Crying, which is wonderful but I think that could easily do it a disservice...

Fab heat though, I'd be happy with any of my predicted too 5 going AC. One by One sounds much better in studio form that it did from the clip, as does Sting. I'll Be Fine and Hello Hi are my picks for DTG though if I were to choose who went through <3

01 Molly Petterson Hammar - 'I'll Be Fine' / This has all the makings of a fantastic song, yet there's something about it that altogether as a whole package, her voice, her look, the whole song put together just isn't QUITE there. Would be happy seeing it through and I do enjoy it but, what the f*** was that last note?! 7.5/10

Posted by: Liаm 7th February 2015, 07:19 PM

Okay, I'm really enjoying this. He has a rather compelling voice. Definitely felt more natural than Broder.

02 Daniel Gildenlöw - 'Pappa' / He looks like a prick, he sings a song that makes me think he's a prick... the whole thing was just magnolia and OFFENSIVELY BLAND in every sense of the word. And that always worries me because often that means it's gonna make AC and I get angry. 2/10

Posted by: Liаm 7th February 2015, 07:25 PM

I worry that Pappa might sneak AC over Molly/Jessica/Dolly Style sad.gif Hopefully not, far too twee and meh. Broder is WAY ahead of it! I get the feeling it's one of those "barely anyone on Buzzjack actually likes it" ACers.

01 Molly Petterson Hammar - I'll Be Fine 9/10
02 Daniel Gildenlöw - Pappa 3/10

I'd usually be the first to get up and wiggle to this type of music but I'm not feeling it at all.

Or at least it SHOULD!

I can tell that one's going to be AMAZING in studio form too

Posted by: Lee_J11 7th February 2015, 07:28 PM

Well that was a bucketload of sass and then some!

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 07:29 PM

It just gets better and better as you go through the song. I'll repeat what I said earlier, this needs to be right up there at the top of this heat.

Rickard is actually a really good singer, I've been focusing on the excitement of Elize being there that I almost forgot about him - and he's very welcome to stay there.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th February 2015, 07:39 PM

I can just about live with Behrang being shit over a bit of that because the chorus is so good, he's basically the featured act though (not that that's a bad thing)

Posted by: Conderella 7th February 2015, 07:39 PM

Sounds so grand. Everyone knows i love Behrang but this was worse than his 2013 song sad.gif

01 Dolly Style - Hello Hi 9/10
02 Molly Petterson Hammar - I'll Be Fine 9/10
03 Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg - One By One 7.5/10

Behrang Miri - Det rår vi inte för / This is where I am going to feel really xenophobic but I feel like I need to be able to understand the lyrics in a song like this. I do generally really like it though, I feel like it'll steal an AC place. Kudos for that fabulous key change aswell. 7/10

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th February 2015, 07:42 PM

Well this is onto a WINNER from the off

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th February 2015, 07:42 PM

By winner I of course mean AMAZING SONG THAT WILL FLOP

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 07:42 PM

Eh, Behrang's song was swaggy at the start but I felt it started to drag a bit, especially once the singer came in, so not that great.

Posted by: Conderella 7th February 2015, 07:43 PM

One time in the final was enough for you baby girl

I Fear Sweden will eat this up though ugh

Posted by: Robot 7th February 2015, 07:44 PM

06 Jessica Andersson - 'Can't Hurt Me Now' / She doesn't really have much interesting about her for me. It is a good song but it's very MF ballad by numbers and I feel it swings more into Burning Alive territory than epic Undo. 7/10

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th February 2015, 07:44 PM

That was HANDS DOWN BRILLIANT

this semi. wow.

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 07:44 PM

Very pleasant song actually, wouldn't mind seeing that going further even if it is just riding on the Undo train quite hard.

Posted by: Liаm 7th February 2015, 07:45 PM

I have a feeling this will flop in 5th or 6th or easily go DTG, no in between... It's my fourth fave so I'd like it AC.

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 07:50 PM

I'm going up and down in my opinion of this but right now it's annoying me a little too much, I can tell where it's trying to riff off Uptown Funk before heading into a standard pop chorus, I mean it's alright but nothing special, and the performance is really trying too hard.

07 Eric Saade - Sting / Okay, so the rehearsal worries have been mostly eradicated, that is really quite fabulous. I've got over the disappointment of it not being so SLAP YOU ROUND THE FACE WITH THE iamspamspamamiSINK PRODUCTION of the last two and am now appreciating it for what it is and it's really great. The performance was all rather "we can't think of a gimic this time so let's just throw whatever at it" which was amusing, serving me some real Anton Ewald dance-the-shit-out-of-a-song-that-doesn't-need-it-ness but yeah, I'm back on board the Saade train. 9.5/10

Think:
DTG - Eric, Elize/Rickard
AC - Behrang/Victor, Dolly Style
5th Jessica

Jessica will unfortunately stand out among all of the upbeatness sad.gif

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th February 2015, 08:07 PM

I'm guessing Jessica to bag that other AC spot then, with Behrang 5th, though Jessica being 5th also wouldn't be a surprise

Okay, hearing the previews back more times, I prefer Behrang to Jessica. But I don't really care either way as long as Dolly Style aren't 5th.

It's very possible that Behrang came 3rd and Eric won so if only Molly performed in 2nd slot...

Posted by: Iz~ 7th February 2015, 08:51 PM

Okay that is an INJUSTICE OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.

really fuming right now - not at Jessica because that was okay but Eric & Behrang making it in ahead of that glorious duet physically hurts me.

Molly's, Daniel's and Behrang's songs are uploaded on the Warner Music Sweden http://www.youtube.com/user/warnersweden/videos channel so not long to wait for those ones at least!

Posted by: Ryan. 7th February 2015, 09:35 PM

Just caught up with Eric and Dolly Style's performances. Eric was absolutely fantastic and I would really love him to win this, but for some reason I feel like Christer's favourite is going to be Mans and will get the good final slot. Dolly Style was better than I imagined when I saw those lyrics so I'm glad they got to Andra Chansen.

Posted by: Aaron. 7th February 2015, 09:50 PM

Really surprised Rickard Söderberg & Elize Ryd didn't at least go to AC. However the beginning of their performance was really weak so perhaps most people tuned out?

Posted by: Vülker 7th February 2015, 10:15 PM

Saw this at a Swedish church in Central London, which is as baffling as it sounds.

My preferences
1. Molly

That's it. Didn't like anything else. Happy with the qualifiers if it wasn't for Molly's DNQ but hey oh!

"Sting" is a load of lyrical rubbish on a Moldova 2010 rehash, "Hello Hi" is utter national embarrassment and that doss of a duet is thankfully dead and buried.

Bring on DV 2.

Great first show, so much love for Sanna wub.gif Far better presenters this year.

Love Elize/Rickard, how on earth did that not go further? Eric and Jessica's songs are decent but they've both had better entries in the past. Dolly Style is pretty iconic, happy with that going to AC. Molly was good too, shame for her really.

I'll Be Fine is my new Hollow, except at least I knew Hollow would flop (didn't expect 8th but still, with Heartstrings failing to go even AC I didn't let myself think Hollow had even a chance)... I had Molly down as potentially DTF drama.gif

ASSORTED THOUGHTS:

- OMG YAAAS at Molly CRASHING AND BURNING at the first opportunity. It FELT like a massive rip-off anyway but it was only when it got pointed out that it was a total lift from Love Me Again that I realised how disgraceful it was - like, only BARELY better than that dreadful Lucie Pinera track the other year. Molly's look was diabolical as well. A DESERVED flop on ALL FRONTS!

- I FEASTED on Daniel's 7th place.

- So much JUSTICE in the RESULTS! *.* Though this of course means that next week will be devastating and horrible and something awful will happen

- I felt a bit sorry for Ell & Rikki but to be honest the GAY UNDERTAKER look wasn't doing it for me (it didn't really work for Jónsi either that one time, which should have been a cautionary lesson) and there was no question which of the two I was for out of THEM 'N JESS

- SPEAKING OF: QUEEN! (FUCK YOU LEX!)

- WTF at them CHOPPING IN HALF OF A MUSIC VIDEO to disguise Eric's ineptness. Just PUT A BACKING VOCALIST IN A UFO AT THE BACK OF THE STAGE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE YOU FREAKS

- LIVED for the sub-Little Mix backing dancer who OWNED THE MOMENT for the half second of Sting that focused on her

- I can't really deal with the fact that he looks fifty and is singing about rape but Sting is so utterly undeniable that I found myself listening to it on repeat at 2am last night

- ALL HAIL OUR NEW DOLLY OVERLORDS (someone get a JE SUIS POLLY hashtag started NOW (the one who looks like Nanne Grönvall/twenty years older than the others and sealed my eternal love with her HIGH-KICKIN' WAYS at the end)). If they don't make it out of AC then there WILL be tears before bedtime but the FIRST PART OF THE BATTLE IS WON

It FELT like a massive rip-off anyway but it was only when it got pointed out that it was a total lift from Love Me Again that I realised how disgraceful it was

She can't believe it.

Posted by: gooddelta 8th February 2015, 03:38 PM

Ouch. It seems like she believed a little too much in her own hype.

Love Jessica's reaction, I wonder if she was anticipating a Shirley Clamp 2009-style burnout at this moment? I'm sure she didn't expect a DTF.

Just caught up with this, this was what I wanted. Only one major disappointment really. Some hilarious shocked faces on eliminations, especially from Molly when she went out and from Elize when the awful Det Rar Vi Inte For got through to AC.
1. Sting
2. Can't Hurt Mw Now
3. Hello Hi
4. I'll Be Fine

This will ruin "Sting" for you, so be warned:

I now cannot unhear "Stink" instead of "Sting" ie. "It's Gonna Stink So Bad" oh dear. Ruined.

She seems rather bitter aswell, there seems to be somewhat of an uproar about the app voting which contributed to Molly not making it and from what I gather from Google Translate, she's convinced that's why she didn't make it through after "such a strong reaction" to the song. I don't think it's any great loss personally.

And YES, while I'm not mad for Jessica's song, her reaction was lovely, you could tell she'd resigned herself to Elise/Rickard taking the DTF spot.

Posted by: Aaron. 8th February 2015, 07:02 PM

Bitch needs to calm down. There was nothing creative or interesting about her song. We've had songs very similar to hers the last 2-3 years in Melodifestivalen and none of them have made it past their heats.

Posted by: AdamAloud 8th February 2015, 07:04 PM

Let's be honest, she was upstaged by a far superior Molly in that heat.

QUITE!

Posted by: Qassändra 8th February 2015, 07:13 PM

Also I should add that Ell n Rikki DESERVED fifth for NOT ENDING ON A GLORY NOTE!

Posted by: gooddelta 8th February 2015, 07:18 PM

They deserved better than fifth regardless. Had they been in AC in place of Behrang the heat results would have been perfect (in terms of the four songs going further at least, I'm not for a second suggesting Eric and Jessica's songs are my favourites of the bunch).

Posted by: Qassändra 8th February 2015, 07:25 PM

Behrang at LEAST had the decency to whack in that PHENOMENAL key change

Granted the final minute is fantastic. Shame about the rest of the song.

Thanks to the gods of SVTPlay smiling down on us all and allowing a short window to relive the contest, I'm catching up a day later but actually watching the full show this time!

En - Molly - I do like this. Quite a nice track to start us off although there is nothing particular about it thats special. It's all a bit by numbers and that's usually fine but this is MFEST and if you aren't throwing in the ktchn sink then you may as well c**t off. - 7/10

**Wait so we've lost a song but none of the time for this?! More shit unfunny sketch shit in line with last years utter bullshit? SACK CHRISTER NOW**

#JusticeforMelodiÅtta

Två - Daniel - Is it just me or has possessing a 'man bun' become short hand for 'i'm a colossal c**t'? Yeah this is terminally dull and this guy is a twat. FLUSH - 0/10

**What is this Linus shit? and who is that bespeckled blonde twatsock with him? Can we shoot them both in the face?**

Tre - Rickard & Elize - NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT. There may be hope for Christer yet. A truly bonkers key change is all that stands between this is 11/10 status - 9.5/10

Fyra - Dolly Style - Every single fibre of my being wants to absolutely f***ing hate this. The fact that Yohio is responsible for this only strengthens that desire. However, we all know I have a serious soft spot for TrashyPop and my good god this is so trashy it has it's own wheelie bin under Fife Council's bonkers 918 different coloured wheelie bin system. It's so beyond basic and so catchy and my god I hate it yet love it at the same time. - 7/10

Fem - Behrang - Victor would so get it. Given that sex god Måns and Albin are behind this should make this the best thing of the night. Din Soldat is my track of 2014 and Måns' first two albums were amazing. Victor brings it but Behrang is a bit shit. The great thing about Din Soldat is that the verses and chorus are equally brilliant. This is a bloody champion chorus and a great melody that is ruined by a $2 rent a rapper. No. - 5/10 (Sans Behrang - 8.5/10)

Sex - Jessica - Well this is all very 'Why Am I Crying'/'Undo' isn't it? Not that that is a bad thing. It's a f***ing good thing in my book. She's got a reasonable set of vocals and I'm a sucker for a big ballad. - 9/10

Sju - Eric HE WILL BE POPULAR Saade - Right Eric, this had better not be shit. That hat and jacket in this VT need to be incinerated Eric. Whoever told you they were acceptable to wear should be fired, or better yet just shot. Ok, so the Staging needs some serious work and the video bit is naff but the song itself is the tits. Best thing he's done since Queen Tone allowed him to appear on the life changing 'Imagine'. He's looking pretty fit in that white suit an all. Welcome back Eric *.* - 10/10

Rank:

Eric
Rickard & Elize
Jessica
Molly//Dolly Style
Behrang & Victor

Death

plus it's more like $2 rent a vocalist. behrang IS the song. goodbye

Behrang is like a fly, hovering around for a bit being an irritant. He does like 1/4 of the song.

Posted by: Lee_J11 9th February 2015, 11:19 AM

Having time to digest this weekends excitement i am now fully enraged that Ell & Rikki did not even make it to AC, the song is simply ANTHEMIC wub.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 9th February 2015, 04:56 PM

Is it common knowledge that One More Time had a big European hit called Highland in 1992? (which even went top 100 in the UK!)

How did I not know this? This song is incredible! The power, the key change, Nanne *.*

Posted by: AdamAloud 9th February 2015, 05:04 PM

Oh that is outstanding!!

I must check out their full back catalogue.

Posted by: gooddelta 9th February 2015, 05:07 PM

Isn't it! It reminds me of something that might have made The Corrs' first album, specifically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMd1Mm-99P0.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 9th February 2015, 05:12 PM

Highland is AMAZING, I was pointed in its direction about 7 years ago (how time flies) and have always meant to investigate them further (beyond the obvious) but never did.

Posted by: AdamAloud 9th February 2015, 05:14 PM

I didn't even know there was an English version of 'Den vilda'!

Posted by: gooddelta 9th February 2015, 05:16 PM

Indeed! That whole album is beautiful but I definitely need to look into their evidently more gutsy past.

Posted by: AdamAloud 9th February 2015, 07:39 PM

'Sting' really is an earworm isn't it? Keep going back to it FAR more than I thought I would after hearing that 30 second clip last Thursday. The more I listen to it, the more I can hear it winning the whole thing. But as far as him saying he wants to win the Eurovision, I can't see 'Sting' doing that (unless of course the overall quality of entries remains as average as a Macedonian heat). Unless we get another Ace Wilder type situation this year, it's clearly going to be Eric v Måns.

And then they hope he sings a song about their dead vagina no doubt?

Posted by: LexC 10th February 2015, 05:36 PM

dead vaginas > dead brothers

(Although given he's first up next week it's at worst going to be a rock pastiche which I can live with providing Mans is dropping the track of salvation he should be dropping soon and vanquishes all of his chances of victory)

Posted by: Qassändra 10th February 2015, 05:58 PM

Why does him going up first mean it's going to be a rock pastiche?

Well starting on a dirgey ballad would be a bit wierd and Old Linny hardly seems like one to be singing a schlager bop.

That's what I was aiming to do, but SVT haven't updated for iPad just yet, only Android. I have found another way though.

I completely forgot I can connect my laptop to TV via HDMI (in fact most people can probably do that tbf) laugh.gif Heat 2 shall be even more exciting then! There are no names that immediately excite me but as Miss Li had a hand in Mariette's song I'm looking forward to that one for sure!
