New drama coming to BBC Two in the UK, produced as a joint venture with Netflix!

It was written by David Hare and will star Carey Mulligan in the leading role with John Simm, Billie Piper and Nicola Walker also starring.

From the press release last year:

QUOTE
Set over the course of four days, the four-part drama explores the spiraling repercussions surrounding the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man. Refusing to accept this is a random act of senseless violence, tough and single-minded Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie (Mulligan) is determined to discover if there is a darker truth.

Politician David Mars (Simm) becomes instantly embroiled in the drama through his turbulent relationship with his troubled and unpredictable ex Karen (Piper). While Jane Oliver (Walker), a compassionate vicar, struggles to conceal her affair with the only witness to the crime. Hare’s electrifying writing acts as a moving spotlight, asking crucial questions about the state of modern Britain.

Hopefully all four episodes will be shown over one week. I'm interested to see Carey back on TV and obviously all the cast are great draws!

This wins for literally opening with a Stefflon Don track and no hanging around for the drama either *.*

Thought this was a great opener! I like the fact that there are more issues than just the murder on the table and that the characters we've met so far are dependent on each other for ultimately their survival. Also really interesting that they've already shown us the identity of the murderer, but finding out the motives seems to be the plot to this story.

I didn't watch it live so does anyone know how regularly the BBC are broadcasting this? Also did anyone else watch it?!

It's going to be every Monday at 9pm, but there's only 4 episodes.

Omg THIS is what I've wanted in a British TV drama in 2018! So gripping, so well-cast and acted - Billie Piper in particular did her role as a Chelsea mother so well - and I am left intrigued as to the motives behind the murder. Looking forward to the next few episodes!

I saw the first two episodes last night so a lot if the strands are starting to come together. I should see the other two episodes in the next couple days or so.

Saw the last two episodes tonight and thought it was pretty good overall. The number of authority figures who were not thoroughly ghastly people was pretty low laugh.gif
