I was thinking that too. Weren't there rumours that they were gonna do a movie ? they weren't rumours it was true, Kiefer confirmed it a while ago on Jonathan Ross. They were going to put together the script between season 6 and 7, but they felt it wouldn't have enough time and it wouldn't be done justice so it's on hold for now |

well it wasn't going to be in "real time" only 2 hours, with bits based in London and around Europe.
In a way I'm glad its been shelved for now as it sort of goes against the whole principle of the show |

In a way I'm glad its been shelved for now as it sort of goes against the whole principle of the show just a bit... But, as I say, the show's "real time" principle has kinda been shot out the water over the past few series tbh... They don't really adhere to it, setting up rather unrealistic scenarios now which couldn't possibly occur within the time-frames suggested.. Series one was probably the one which adhered to the principle more or less fully, but even in series two cracks were starting to appear... But now, with the increasing insanity of the plots and just so much going on, it's just gone out of the window really.... |

Certainly more than less, like the recent series' have managed... Series one is still the best for me, all this stuff with Jack's dad and brother being this Corporate, "Illuminati" type of thing is just bloody daft tbh, and stretches credibility way over the edge.... David Palmer's brother suddenly showing up as the Prez all seemed a bit "EH?????" to me as well.... Suspension of Disbelief is one thing, but come on..... Best thing I'm liking about this series so far...? The Biscuit from "Ally McBeal" playing a weasly, nasty piece of work..... |

I was surprised to see him in this series but I have to say he fits in perfectly.

Actually, even though I find the sub-plot a wee bit silly and stretching credibility a bit far, I cannot fault the acting from James Cromwell as Jack's dad... He's in great form, his best role since the Police Chief in "LA Confidential"..... |
