adric was on his own with the 4th doc in keeper of traken, and tourghlough with the 5th docin planet of fire

I thought Adric was was Pete Davidson's assistant (he died in "Earthshock" I believe)...? unsure.gif I seem to remember a female companion being with Adric as well... It's been bloody years since I saw all those anyway, forgive me if my memory's a bit hazy......

Besides, Fourth Doc - Tom Baker.... Fifth Doc Peter Davidson.... Neither of those as girly or effeminate (or as annoying) as Tenant.... tongue.gif laugh.gif

Adric was with Tom Baker aswell as Davison because he was in Keeper of Traken, which Nyssa was first in, and she became a companion in Logopolis.
Tegan also joined in Logopolis.

adric hid in the tardis at the end of Full Circle in 1980, ans stayed with 4th Doc and Romana mk.2 till Warriors Gate. In Keeper Of Traken he was the sole companion, and Nyssa, although made her first apearence in Keeper.., Did not join permanently untill Logopolis, in which the Watcher brung her to lohopolis to travek with the doctor.

Adric died in Earthshock, then Nyssa decided to stay on a lepers space craft (is that the worst departure in doc who or what??!!!!). Turlough Joined in Mawdyn Undead, the episode before Nyssa left, so after that it was Tegan and Turlough, with the 5th doc, than in Resurection of the Daleks, tegan decided to stay on Earth. Than in the next episode Turlough decided to stay on Sarn, than Peri joins. Thats when it became tradition to only have one companion.

how many 14 year olds have that kind of amazing knowledge about doctor who?? im clearly the biggest fan on here....

The biggest Doc Who Nerd more like.... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif (just kidding mate...). I still reckon you could easily have more than one companion though (Capt Jack I believe was a temp second companion for a little while in series one anyay...), and I really dont see why it has to be a female all the time either

I've been hearing rumours that Rachel Stevens might get approached for the role, as ITV have Hannah on Primeval

Her name always seems to come up. It's become almost a cliche now. There were rumours either Rachel or Charlotte Church would get the Gwen role in Torchwood. laugh.gif

Personally, I think Rachel Stevens would be a bad idea. I remember watching the various S Club TV series as a kid, (can't believe I just admitted that) and all of them were pretty rubbish at acting, Hannah being slightly less rubbish at it than the others. But apart from that, it would just be a rehash of Rose, and I think that's the last thing they need.

I quite like Martha, but she isn't very interesting. I'm not sure she deserves to get axed so soon though. I wonder if this story will turn out to be a publicity stunt.

Freema puts the record straight
ITV News
2.50, Wed Jun 6 2007

New Doctor Who sidekick Freema Agyeman has exterminated rumours that she's set to leave the hit show.

The 27-year-old has been the subject of headlines ever since signing up to the cult TV series and now wants a chance to set the record straight, insisting: "I'm not axed. I haven't been sacked."

Last week it was claimed the actress who plays Martha Jones wouldn't return for the next series, as the tabloids got it into their heads that show chiefs didn't think her performance was as strong as in earlier episodes.

It appears the reports were wrong on both counts. But the 27-year-old admits the stories did affect her: "For about five minutes as you do think oh no, but then you know you're not going to have 100 per cent of people all the time. It's just life.

"What is important is that the fans are enjoying it and I just decided to focus on that and it didn't bother me anymore."

But at least she had her trusty co-star David Tennant for moral support: "He is always there to offer advice. He said 'you're going to get it. It's going to happen, but it will go away', and it did."

The pair are both contracted up until series four which begins filming this month. Of course there's more speculation that writer Russell T Davies plans to call time on his Sci-Fi hit after this.

But with the BBC confirming they have a long term commitment to Doctor Who, fans needn't panic just yet.

That's a relief happy.gif I do like her, and even if I didn't, it's nice to have some consistency in a TV show - not chopping and changing cast members every 5 minutes! laugh.gif

I don't know what the BBC are up to. If it was true I think that the producers should be axed.

Freema is much more suited than Billie Piper was. Billie was good but Freeman is brilliant. And she's gorgeous
