That was a very odd episode for some reason but I quite enjoyed it, very different, but it worked 9/10, not much to comment on, but nicely written episode, bit dark and moody
Whatever you do.... do not blink when you see a stone statue |

That was brilliant.
It could so easily have been another Love & Monsters but Blink was brilliant despite a minimal amount of the Doctor and his assistant. For the second show running a magnificent female lead performance (tonight - Carey Mulligan) and a superbly written Roald Dahl's Tales of The Unexplained meets Back To The Future episode has shown how important it is to produce a great show. If I was an 8 year-old watching it, I'd be behind the sofa now, especially the ending with all those random statues. I'm starting to get repetitive, but that was yet another show that highlighted Freema Agyeman's lack of acting ability in comparison to another female actress. I'm probably now wishful thinking but I so want to find out that Freema has done a bit of a Mel "well if the other members want to do it then I don't want to spoil a reunion - but there will definitely be no new material before being photographed that afternoon (last Sunday) coming out of the same recording studio that the other four members had been using to record two new tracks" Chisholm and told a major lie that she'll be back for all of Series 4. 9.5/10 |

Well, tonight was a pretty scary episode. I really enjoyed this one.
I thought the lead actress (Carey Mulligan) was good. It didn't matter too much we didn't see enough of The Doctor, as the story made up for it ... and it worked. Love the whole plotline, and it really got people thinking and gripped to the screen working out what was going on. Remember folks, when you see a statue ... Don't Blink! Loved how they left it there...making the kids spooked! 10/10 Bring on next week with the return of Captain Jack. |

10/10.
Doctor Who is on a ROLL! The Doctor-less shows are always interesting too, remember the one last year with Danny from Hustle? |

I've got to agree, it was very Torchwood! I wasn't wholly bothered by this one, whilst it was enjoyable enough, I didn't think it was amazing. However, Carey was brilliant!

since the Eurovision interrupted the series, it's got better darker storylines
Great episode again tonight, 9.5/10 Can't wait to see how Captain Jack fits into it next week |

It could so easily have been another Love & Monsters but Blink was brilliant despite a minimal amount of the Doctor and his assistant. Exactly what i feared, i hated 'Love And Monsters', bu this was an amazing episode, so scary, especially the ending ill neevr look at the statue in winchester EVER again!!!! The statues were freaky, the episode was brilliantly written, this series is obviously a case of 'save the best till last' , excellent writing and acting, it was nice not seeeing the Doctor all the way through!!!! 9.5/10 not happy about Captain Jack returning, but maybe ill be proved wrong, at least i hope so!!!! |

I'm starting to get repetitive, but that was yet another show that highlighted Freema Agyeman's lack of acting ability in comparison to another female actress. Totally agree... Ditch Freema, get Carey in for series 4 without a doubt.... She's got the talent so completely lacking in Freema... They can even keep the same character, and there's the possibility for a male companion in there as well with the boyfriend character.... Could be fun to see the Doc travelling around time with a couple in a relationship.... Episode was brilliant, taking in references from Greek and Roman mythology, the whole "living statues" and being turned to stone idea stems from the Gorgons/Medusa... The idea of people being sent back in time and slowly killed was pretty inspired as well... The editing and camera work contributed greatly to the atmosphere and effect of this one... I always look forward to the Steven Moffatt episodes, he is FAR better storyteller than Russell T Davis IMHO... Moffatt should take over the show full-time.... 10/10, best episode of the series so far... |

I honestly think that you are in a tiny minority in not rating Freema's acting skills tbh...

One of the best episodes of this new series I think. The fact the Doctor wasn't in much worked much better here than it did in 'Love And Monsters', and the 'message on DVDS/angel statues' story was really good. Steven Moffatt writes great episodes.
I thought Sally Sparrow was brilliant. They have to bring her back again, even if it's only for a one-off. She'd certainly make a great companion for The Doctor. It was a shame she only had a few minutes with him as they looked like they'd work well together. I thought her boyfriend was quite a good character as well. I'm not looking forward to next week's episode though, as frankly I've never liked Captain Jack much. But overall this series has been pretty good. |
