Hi all!!
I'm in charge of picking the Ellie songs for each round of AF Idol on my own, but I need your help. I've got some choices pencilled in but as we want Ellie to go as far as possible, I want to hear what you think!!
Round 1 is free choice, so any Ellie song can be sent. Ideally, we'll save the big guns until later, so what do you guys think would be a good, safe choice for round 1?

If Burn is considered now what exactly is “big guns” isn’t that one of her biggest hits?

Yeah but no-one loves it, I don't think it would fair well against other AF's 'big gun' at all.

Agreed with Liam! I think 'Burn' could be a smart choice for round one. I'd say 'Starry Eyed' would be quite safe a bit later on?

On a serious note, I could see Starry Eyed doing well later on, I thought it was one of her most popular songs? Of her most recent stuff I'd put Something in the way you Move or Close To Me/Sixteen

We made it to round 2! We've got four options:
Under the Sheets
Anything Could Happen
On My Mind
Close to Me
I'd be swayed to Anything Could Happen tbh!

That or Close To Me? It's recent which helps it but I don't think it's one of her most loved at all and is more of a 'now or never' choice while Anything Could Happen could have some milage in the future! Ik On My Mind is polarising as well but at this stage it probs would get through tbh

Under the Sheets is nice too but not sure if people know it
Close to Me might polarise people, not a big fan myself but it's ok
On My Mind is horrible, I wouldn't even vote for it myself

"Anything Could Happen" is the strongest choice in my opinion, so I think it could be saved for later rounds. I guess you could submit any of the rest if it's considered that this is a single elimination and I doubt "Under The Sheets", "On My Mind" or "Close To Me" are going to be eliminated. I agree that the latter is polarising, so this might be a risk.

We got through! 
Round 3 is a song without a music video. There's nothing in the way of singles for Ellie, so we need a strong album track to stand out! Lost & Found strikes me as a popular one based on this forum?

did Something in the way you move have a video? I remember seeing a live one but not sure if that was official.
if it doesn't count, then yes, Lost & Found is kinda the only option.

Something In The Way You Move DID get a promotional video!
My choice would be 'Believe Me' but I haven't heard any other albums properly so I dunno about any other potentially strong album tracks... Something from 'Halcyon'-era I assume?

A few Lights tracks could potentially work - This Love, Wish I Stayed, Your Biggest Mistake? I've bookmarked a couple of Halcyon tracks for later rounds so would be good to utilise the other two albums here!

"Something In The Way You Move" has two music videos. 
Either way, "Lost And Found" seems the perfect choice, although another options could be "Animal" or "Stay Awake".

the problem with Ellie's album tracks is that everyone likes a different one
I remember we did a poll once, and no one agreed on a single track, everybody picked different songs
definitely Lost & Found is the best option

We made it through again! Round 5 is worst single, meaning we have to choose one of Ellie's bottom 3 songs in a rate. We've not got an up-to-date Ellie singles rate so we're going to use her survivor game from when the forum opened. This was the bottom 3:
24. Mama (with Clean Bandit) [Round 1: 13 votes / 8.90%]
26. First Time (with Kygo) [Round 1: 14 votes / 9.59%]
27. Powerful (with Major Lazer & Tarrus Riley) [Round 1: 15 votes / 10.27%]
I think it HAS to be First Time?

....I don't know most of them lol but Keep On Dancin' is a very instant, catchy song and easy to get into surely so if those ones are vetoed I don't think that's a bad bet

for me Flux is one of the best song Elli has ever released, a total 11/10 of a song
but I know my musical taste is not the same as the other people in here
so Flux is probably a bad idea
Keep on Dancin' is a much safer option

and I'm not even sure I know what Don't Leave is what do you guys think could be our best shot? Having listened to it, I'd support it (though I don't think Ellie's voice suits it well), but assuming some of those album tracks are half-decent and pop-friendly they'd probably be better choices.I do moderately like 'Worry About Me'.
