38 Katy Perry - Wide Awake 192
37 Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound 198
36 27 Coldplay (feat. Rihanna) - Princess Of China 199

Tulisa adds another nil-pointer to the hilarity pile. A lot of songs way too low, but the most notable for long-time fans of the ROTD series is the fall from grace of Solange, whose 'Losing You' has been a strong contender in 2012 every single year up to now. As it was never a hit and was instead one of our adored underground cult classics, I expected it to eventually slip away, but not this suddenly! Maybe my format change is at fault.

AQs
35 Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven 201
34 43 P!nk - Blow Me (One Last Kiss) 203
33 23 Lana Del Rey - Ride 208
32 42 Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm 209
31 37 Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 209
30 38 Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans 218
29 Avicii - Silhouettes 223
28 34 Beyoncé - Love On Top 224
27 Otto Knows - Million Voices 229
26 24 Fun. (feat. Janelle Monae) - We Are Young 232
25 36 Rihanna - Where Have You Been 232
24 22 Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 234
23 31 Jay-Z & Kanye West - Niggas In Paris 246
22 13 Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith) - Latch 250
21 19 Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen 275

We exchange songs like Princess Of China, 110% and Climax for Locked Out Of Heaven, Pound The Alarm and Where Have You Been. I'll let you decide if this is a good thing or not. Some advances for unexpected songs though, there are two new entries from Avicii's Silhouettes, following the pattern of Levels and Seek Bromance, and there's Million Voices, a club anthem of 2012 that's seen a lot of love this year.

SEMI-FINALISTS
20 18 P!nk - Try 279
19 29 Porter Robinson - Language 279
18 12 Rudimental - Feel The Love 298
17 4 Lana Del Rey - Born To Die 315
16 20 Little Mix - DNA 317
15 21 Girls Aloud - Something New 322
14 26 Cheryl - Call My Name 324
13 3 Ellie Goulding - Figure 8 336
12 17 Nicki Minaj - Starships 340
11 14 Marina & The Diamonds - Primadonna 341
10 16 Florence & The Machine - Spectrum 346
9 10 Azealia Banks - 212 356
8 9 Rihanna - Diamonds 357
7 6 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 361
6 15 Calvin Harris (feat. Florence Welch) - Sweet Nothing 362

2012 is actually the first round where no nominated songs advance any further to the next round! That was pretty good going. It may not seem that way though, as Language, which only secured its AQ status last year for the first time ever, improves on its status as a future classic and gets Porter to the next round! Success. A fall for Born To Die and Figure 8 from their rather wonderful high positions last year is a bit unfortunate, but change must come.

FINALISTS
5 1 Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks 367
4 5 David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium 389
3 11 Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child 431
2 7 Gotye (feat. Kimbra) - Somebody That I Used To Know 432
1 2 Loreen - Euphoria 491

Except for the winner, where after a round last year where the winner was quite unusual and unexpected for once, normal service resumes with Euphoria destroying all in its wake. Little Talks regresses to 5th, while Don't You Worry Child and Somebody That I Used To Know are going incredibly strong this year. What a top 5 overall though! 2012 often gets the top end very right.

Porter!!! Best results so far for that alone. wub.gif

(Otto Knows is a nice new AQ too, don't really care much for the other movers and shakers)

I don't think I'll comprehend this Euphoria obsession here.
So happy to see Don't You Worry Child in the top 3. biggrin.gif
Shame Flaws and Greyhound are not AQs. sad.gif

oh BOO at Greyhound just missing out on an AQ, but it was seemingly not top 60 last year so at least that's some improvement. and to make up for it we have Avicii and Otto Knows AQ. biggrin.gif Language up to the semi-finals is also great to see.

Don't You Worry Child and Somebody.. replacing Figure 8 and Born To Die in the top five are both great swaps too.

QUOTE(Rush @ Jun 19 2018, 06:02 AM) *
My 2009 +30 'End Credits' fell 8-26 and my 2010 +30 'Katy On a Mission' fell 8-29 sob.gif I'm not sure if I've cursed my favourites, last year's #8s, or both.
'Losing You' falling 8-41, while 'only' being +22 for me; we have the answer ohmy.gif

Disappointing results to be honest with 'Figure 8' and 'Born To Die' (both in my top 3, this year and last) crashing out of the top 5, in exchange for... nothing I voted being top 8. Happy for my nominations of 'Oblivion' and 'Tidal Wave' making the 60s though, and 'Language' is a very worthy semi-finalist.

Oh I didn't even notice that 'Figure 8' had fallen out of the top 5. Boo.
