the BJSC has always been about enterrign a song which is generally liked by the most people, that is how Dame Maggie won the best of, she get very very few 12s and so wasn't generally regarded as the best song of I-X but most people ranked it in their top ten favorites which then allowed it to win. Similarly when I sent Belinda to XII, she was largely predicted a bottom five finish as no one really saw anything special in the song, however, on the night she picked up tonnes of 4s and 5s which allowed her to sneak a top five finish. This is why I always say 'don't believe the hype' - just because a couple of people really love a song does not mean it will gain the mass appeal needed to get a good finish.
