Hello everyone, time to bring you my first top 20 singles chart of a brand new month. Is Dua Lipa about to break into her second month at the top, or will new entries from Mabel, Jonas Blue and SZA with Justin Timberlake prove too tough a challenge? Here's where we find out...

CHART COMMENTARY

A new month, and with it a brand new number one to finally end Dua Lipa's reign at the top. In fact all of the static top 3 from the last fortnight have been released from their stillwater marooning at the top end of our chart.

Leading the charge as the week's biggest new single is what we tentatively think might be history repeating itself. Cast your minds back four years ago, when the first of the animated Trolls films made their cinematic debut. The song that accompanied its release from the soundtrack was 'Can't Stop The Feeling', which went onto be a mammoth eight week chart topper for Justin Timberlake, who also provided one of the voices for the film, as well as being our biggest single of that year.

Fast forward to March 2020, and the sequel, Trolls: World Tour, is awaiting release next month, and with it another soundtrack chart topper for the former *NSYNC star in a chart career that now dates back over two decades. Interestingly though, Justin isn't even the main star on 'The Other Side'. Instead that credit goes to American R&B songstress SZA.

Either way, it gives her a debut number one with her first ever entry on our chart, whilst Justin adds his fourth chart topper to a pile that includes 'SexyBack' (September 2006), 'Mirrors' (February 2013) and the aforementioned 'Can't Stop The Feeling' (May 2016). 'Believe', the current Meek Mill hit that he also features on retains a top 10 berth in its third showing, down three places at #9, giving him two top 10s simultaneously for the first time in his career.

Recent winner of Best British Female at the BRIT Awards - thus replicating the feat her mum, Neneh Cherry pulled off thirty years previously - Mabel returns to our chart this week with the second highest new entry at #2 for new single 'Boyfriend'. It is her third top 3 hit in the last year, including 'Don't Call Me Up' which peaked there exactly a year ago, and her chart topper 'Mad Love' from last June. She also hit the top 10 at Christmas with 'Loneliest Time of Year' peaking at #9.

Jordan Mackampa's debut hit 'Magic' is proving to be quite self prophetical - now on its third week around, it climbs another two places to #3, after climbing two to #5 from its entry point of #7 last week.

Jonas Blue is also back in our top 10 this week at #6 with 'Mistakes'. A collaboration with Paloma Faith, it is her second top 10 hit in recent months following the #6 peak of DJ Spoony's rework of 'Movin' Too Fast' that she provided guest vocals to in January, and his fourth in the last twelve months.

Also new in the top 20 this week: 'Spotlight', the first top 20 hit in three years for Jessie Ware, whose Table Manners podcast has taken off to such an extent that she has now published a cookbook with her mum and co-host, Lennie Ware. It's also now her highest peaking to date, entering at #12.

Alicia Keys rounds off the new arrivals at #16 with 'Underdog', the second single from her forthcoming eponymous album 'Alicia' due for release in May. It improves on the performance of its first single, 'Show Me Love', which only got as high as #29 on our chart last September.
