I'm surprised Satellite isn't more well regarded - it's an incredibly instant and catchy song! Top three are all 11/10 and my favourites of their year. Running Scared is the only won that shouldn't have won but a fairly good set of winners overall! Probably jury votes that help remove anything particularly bad.

Just as strong as the winners tbh. Same again with 2010 I think maNga should be better remembered as that was also a quality song and performance! Italy didn't deserve to be top 10 let alone 2nd place. Top 4 all would've been very strong winners! Bulgaria's beautiful mess is really overrated imo, it's just a very average forgetable pop song that was performed well on the night!

I have a big soft spot for Electro Velvet tongue.gif Forgot about Josh Dubovie completely, that really was an awful song! Never would have thought SuRie would've been so high but she was memorable in her year and sold the hell out of her song so she deserves some credit for UK despite the result! We've had our moments of sending decent entries but none of our songs are even close to being original or being remembered in Eurovision history. sad.gif

Just saying my favourite 2010s winner are Satellite, Euphoria, Rise Like A Phoenix, and Arcade while for 2010s runner up are Party for Everybody, Calm After the Storm, Fuego, and Soldi. Thus unintentionlly showing 2012, 2014, and 2019 are my fave top 2 lmao.

Not gonna rank the UK entries tho.

I reckon this year's Eurovision off-season will be heavily focused on this end-of-the-decade aspect (to confirm with my mod team x) but yes, let me do a quick rundown.

Aside from 1944, and Satellite and Euphoria on good days, I'm not 100% behind most of the winners but I think all of them aside from Heroes are at least listenable, even if Amar Pelos Dois is something I'd never put on, and half of the rest are good.

Much better overall actually. I dislike none of these, even the grannies are fun as a song. We Could Be The Same is easily a big epic, and Calm After The Storm is undeniable quality imo.

no irony, Electro Velvet is miles ahead, partially because it's the single only one of those that shows a leaning away from straight singer pop with uninteresting production, which I'm deathly bored of. Supporting the UK in 2015 was fun, something I cannot say for any other Eurovision this decade, where it was a chore for most of the rest, and something I outright refused to do for Bigger Than Us, You're Not Alone and That Sounds Good To Me. I Can was however the sort of song that the British in "normal mode" should be sending more often.

though I should add that Storm had probably the best STAGE performance of the ten, but I listen to most entries in studio form and Electro Velvet's intro gets me every time so that I rarely think about its... lower quality performance.

I will agree though that, whilst awful and embarassing, Electro Velvet really does stick out like a sore thumb as a time where we broke out of just doing the bare minimum.

I mean we've got two genuinely good songs/performances to be proud of, and as bizarre as Electro Velvet was, it was refreshing seeing them just throw something bizarre out there even if it didn't quite land. When over half of your entries are made up of has-beens with forgettable songs and randomers with forgettable songs, then it really isn't surprising looking at our record.

There's a HUGE gap between the top 3 and everything else there, the top 3 were the best or among the best songs of their years (I have never actually got around to hearing most of the 2017 songs as I missed that final shamefully but I find it hard to imagine there's much there that I'd like more than 'Amar Pelos Dois'), 4-6 were also in my top half or so, 'Arcade' is on its own in just being ok, and the last 3 were among my least favourite songs of their years ('Running Scared' is the most baffling winner to date, easily the worst song that year and doesn't sound remotely like a winner).

Runner-ups (only ranking the ones I actually remember, sorry maNga and Kristian):

God having this in a list format really makes it hit home how terrible this decade was for us laugh.gif NGUY is the only one I love, I Can and Children are great but i never really go back to them. BIM is fine, SILWY is so bad it's good and Storm-BTU are dull as. TSGTM is absolutely horrendous and potentially the worst Eurovision song I've ever heard.
