BBC have revealed the first trailer to the second series of the Kay Mellor written In the Club. It follows the lives of various pregnant women who are attending local Parent Craft classes. It wasn't quite as dramatic as other BBC dramas, more comedy and character driven, but it did have some grittier aspects to it and I hope for more of the same for this series. Wikipedia says it'll commence Tuesday 3rd May, which makes sense as that's just after The A Word finishes. |

I enjoyed the first series, so I'm hoping the second will be as good.

Great start to the second series; it follows on from the first nicely and already showing lots of potential to be great throughout. Got the balance of drama and comedy right again but never forgetting to remain character-driven (I reckon if anyone was a fan of The A Word, they may enjoy this too).
I'm guessing the woman who 'found' the baby in the toilets is in fact said baby's mother; twigged with me when she asked the police if she could have a look at it. I also spy Hollyoaks' Jacqui McQueen, just without the hooped earrings and croydon facelift! |

Opened with 4.17m (21.6%) which is lower than I was expecting but still up on the 3.98m (19.1%) and not too far down from the 4.73m (23.1%) that The A Word (which was the programme in the Tuesday 9pm slot before) got for its first episode and that felt much more advertised.

Loved the opening episode, hope this is another terrific series as adored Series 1

Really glad it's had a good reception! BBC drama has been spot on this year; I've already watched more stuff on TV than I did the whole of last year. |
